@JoshuaManriguez198 One solution to your problem: Go to the top Menu bar (File, Add, Timeline, etc.) and pull down that top menu (do this by placing the mouse cursor right on the bottom edge of that bar until you see a two-headed arrow and left-click and drag the Menu bar down). Go over and press "Emulate 3 button mouse" if it isn't already done so. Make sure "Right Mouse" right above it is also selected. Now you can use Alt + left mouse button as a MMB on your laptop. Now you're good, man.

@JoshuaManriguez198 Also, if you had to change anything there, and you want this to be the default setting when you open Blender, just open Blender, do those changes again, restore the Menu bar back up, and press Ctrl + U and select "Save user default." If you also need a number pad, go to the User Preferences, go to "System & OpenGL" button, choose "Emulate Numpad" to use 1 to 0 keys as a numpad.

Everyone that is having trouble at 1:09 --- When you hit "A" it selects/deselects. You will deselect it. Then when you hit "B" it will bring up a dashed line across both axis, this will allow you to click and drag over the what he says and then hit "X" or the delete key to delete them. Hope that makes sense. A = Select all and Deselect all. B = Selection Mode..

it is extremely hard to take much good information on 3d programs over youtube or other sites. the only way i learned how to do it was in my actualy 3d programs. if you have trouble listening on here the only way you will learn is if someone shows you hands on. but nice try on the video anyhow atleast you tried, im sure you knew ahead of time not many would understand this.

The problem with using mirror is that if you are wanting to use the charictor for some animantion you have to move both arms or both legs... I am making a shooting game and this will not work for me because he has to hold the gun with one hand on the trigger and another to reload or hold the gun- Machine gun!

@Coolzie13 - Once you have modelled your character with the mirror modifier, simply apply the mirror, and then you can go and head and edit each side independently :D

@TheMightyWumbo if you want to export a model to a .3ds you can by useing clicking file/export then select 3D Studio (.3ds) it is the same in 2.49b-2.55 beta i don't use 3ds max so if it has an import option that is what you should select and find the file you exported

@Kurosaki826 I use blender 2.49-2.55 in 2.49 you can't delete faces the faces unless you mave 3 or more vertics selected that create a face so delete vertics and apply the mirror modifier it works the same

The weird thing for me is that I followed all the steps up to 4.50, and if I select the same point as you, nothing like the points crossing over the axis happens, but if I select the same point on the left (which shouldn't exist, I guess, since it's just the mirror image), it works like yours... Watch in High-Def to see the button, I just found it, it is a small bubble in the Mirror modifier box. Also this tutorial is great I am learning alot, If I used the mirror modifier my first model wouldent have turned out uneven in some areas (Although mine still looks pretty good, I just uploaded a video of it)

@Valor773 I think she used s key. The s start a scaling operation. She is working in object mode for now, then the s key scale the whole object. Start Blender, you are in object mode by default, with a cube in the center. Press S, and move the mouse pointer. You will see what I'm saying.
