They for unknown reason forgot to mount a sound recording device on the BW 16 mm cam. What we hear was recorded with Hi8cam. Btw. Even this is not truth. On the celling can be seen white triangular thing. A microphone. Nice drama, but with a lot of mismatches for me, as a reporter.
For example 1000W cam light without extra batteries, the 400 ft cam magazines and 1600 ft reels of film, too long shooting without recharge...and for many times alogical behavior of the heroes

To all of you guys that dont get the ending..you have to watch the movie fully and pay close attention to the start..i havent watched this movie yet but after looking on wikipedia for the story and watching this part i got it.. at the begining rusty parr or whatever his name is took 7 kids into his cabin, he took one kid and put him in the corner before killing another kid hence why mike is standing in the corner and heather is being the one that got killed, the other person was killed before.

That house shouldn't be existing at all, if it is the house of Rustin Parr. It was burned down, so someone or something had to have rebuilt it or the witch sent them back in time.
What has Heather screaming about all the way down to the basement (some of which sounds like an inhuman screech, to me at least)? Was it the bloody handprints?
Too bad neither Mike nor Heather was able to turn the camera to the right for at least a quarter of a second before getting whacked.

Because the tape recorder got lost a day before there is only the videocam recording sounds. In the mythology is said the record ends long before end of tape. (btw. is not it interesting the camera stops in the moment she is grabbed?:-)

@Buckleofbelt The sound is recorded from the colour video-camera. The other video camera (black-and-white one) had very poor sound quality in reality, therefore the trio had relied on the colour video camera to provide better sound quality during the making of the film

The "alternate" end where the Heather is shown as guilty for all that and no witches and killer hermits are needed will be better. Mike when came to empty basement spot there something, remembered missing recorder (reason why the BW picture is soundless), stunned...Even there was a spoof done that way.
But they decided to stop the filming before that...(is said she refused to act a possessed killer woman) But we can see this concept is acted in the sequel.

well in the start of the movie this one old man said that the witch would take 2 people at a time and put one in the corner facing the wall and one she would kill. she put one in the corner because she wouldn't want people watching her kill someone. the guy standing by the wall was mike her friend. she wouldn't stop screaming because he wouldn't answer. oh yeah the guy was killed.

Mike was standing at the wall. See in the begginning of the movie this lady tells them if there is more than one person for the blair witch to kill, the witch grabs one person, puts them in a corner so they dont have to watch the witch kill the rest of the crew. Thats what just happened. And Heather doesnt stop screaming because she is scared as hell.

I had TBWP pages until the release of seqel.
The Book of shadows caused too many swearings and more "bad sharing" activity in guestbook section. Then provider said there are speech and copyright problems and my pages were shut down to avoid violence:-(

The "enemy" should be located behind a corner on LEFT side from the stairs to the basement. (Then opposite to the Mike.)
What happened is irrelevant and is not important to know. But the last scene shows them murdered in similar way the Rustin Parr killed his wictims (the director said:-)
Then, logically, in the scene where we can see some garbage on basement floor if she turned back we spotted the witch if existed:-)

They for unknown reason forgot to mount a sound recording device on the BW 16 mm cam. What we hear was recorded with Hi8cam. Btw. Even this is not truth. On the celling can be seen white triangular thing. A microphone. Nice drama, but with a lot of mismatches for me, as a reporter.
For example 1000W cam light without extra batteries, the 400 ft cam magazines and 1600 ft reels of film, too long shooting without recharge...and for many times alogical behavior of the heroes

I just watched this movie for the first time yesterday - I know right... behind on the time much?? - I thought this was so much more frightening then Paranormal Activity. The ending is so creepy with Mike standing in the corner as she dies. ahh omg I am going to have nightmares now. Great. : )

Here's what I think... The Blair Witch would have been so beautiful she charms worlds! This explains why she found Josh the hottest between those two... She kidnapped him and seduced him before she bit his finger off... This is what caused him to scream the first time...
