i have an 02 sonoma with the 4.3 and i bought it in 2005 with 38k miles. as of 2011 it now has 76k miles and feels stronger than ever. regular 3k mile oil changes and this engine keeps on purring. firm believer on the 4.3. all i have is intake, exhaust, electric fan conversion, and 170 t-stat.
S10s are the best trucks ever made!!!!!!!!! I used to have a Extreme for like a week then we had to take it back cause the bank fucked up on the price so they tried to higher it, my dad said fuck that, i now have a 03 v6 :)
I dont know why people cant just watch the damn video. if you dont like s-10' s then dont buy one. I myself have owned 12 of them and actually own one rite now cause there just a good inexpensive truck to play around with and fix up. Half the people that bitch about it are probly walking. But who really cares if u like it or not thats why you have the choice to hit watch video or dont.
@kreigsmann i have no clue, procharger is more popular. i'm more of a turbo guy, its cheaper to build a turbo car than a supercharge car. espicially if its the roots type supercharger that you are going with.
@kreigsmann 10k? i built a homemade turbo kit for a 97 single cam civic about 2 years ago, i think i only spent about 600 bucks. it still runs today. it made like 165 hp to the wheels, pretty good cause it started out at 93hp. you just have to be creative, and hell you can get a whole complete already made turbo kit for anywhere from 1500 to 5000. you can go cheap pretty easy, just get manaul boost controller, that will save you 500 for astart, a t3t4 will make plenty of boost for a s10
@kreigsmann the thing is there is no best turbo out there, only applications for the power you want, why spend 1500 on a turbo but not get power till 3200rpm, there are nice 3-400 turbos that spool real fast and make good power, plus the higher the power you have the faster its going to blow. i tend to build something and sell it then move to another project, im not into losing money. the build is where most of the fun lies for me. to me you'd be wasting more money the way you do it
@kreigsmann also if you dont have money to blow why would you go all out? that doesnt make alot of sense. if you do some research and build it and each part individually you will have done it right with good, reliable power, as long as your goals are not stupid,i.e 1000hp 4.3, you should be fine.even if you build the bottom end for a turbo you wont have but 2500 in it. by the way what do you have, i have a 96 extended cab zr2 and a 03 regular cab xtreme both with 4.3's

Skittles is Right about the 4.3 V6. I still have my damn 1995 Chevy Blazer S-10 SUV and the damn thing is still running fuckin good. Its amazing how GM built those little engines. I dogged the shit out of that truck for the past 9 years and blew my 4L60E Tranny at 220,000 miles and i got it rebuilt and beefed up with Camaro SS Clutches. Now the blazer has 258,793 miles on it and still runs great :D
I've beaten my 4.3 to hell and back with a supercharger on 7psi, then a verrrry lean 8-9 psi then 10psi the right way. I mean I have tore the fuck outa it for over 70,000 miles and thats just since I bought it, 5000rpm clutch dumps, running ridiculously lean for a few months to the point where I and other drivers could smell it, donuts and burnouts, driving on the beach in seawater, hitting way past redline many times at 5600rpms, not once have I ever had a knock or tick or whatever, 4.3 owns

4.3l are one hell of a motor. we have a 93 4.3 blazer as a field truck for our farm. and let me tell ya what. we beat the living hell out of that thing. it has 362xxx miles on it. an it still fires up and runs like a champ. we haul hay trailers loaded down to the local farmers market with the damn thing. it may not go to fast hauling, but it gets the job done.
floor pans are rusted out you feet hover over the transmission an your ass sits on a 5 gal bucket right next 2 the transfer case!

every vehicle has some good things and problems man. I had a dodge 318 magnum truck that ran great. had a jeep with the 318 and that motor blew at 130k. I had a 4.3 blazer, motor blew, my grandpa has a 4.3 sonoma with almost 300k miles on it and runs like a champ. my step dads 3.0 taurus ran for over 250k miles but his dads 3.0 ranger was garbage. Its hard to call a huge company like these ones crap because all have achieved much. The chevy 350 goes alongside the dodge 318 as a great engine
