  • Just love the Album, and all the older music,FANTASTIC LIVE ,just seen A HA at MEN Manchester nov 20th my one lifetime wish, and not disappointed BRILLIANT ,thanks for posting....

  • in really lovwe this song alot !!

  • Fantastic. I will miss a-ha.

They will carry on in their solo careers after 2010.

  • @johnson121able

What are their plans after the tour ends?

  • amo d+ essa banda, é uma pena o a-ha está se acabando bicho..espero que voltem atrás nessa decisão, a turnê no Brasil foi espetacularrr, fui pro show aqui em Recife, iradoooooo

  • this is a VERY good song

  • is the album available in the US?

  • I haven't seen it. I got my copy on line from Argentina. The U.S. has shunned them for years. Lifelines a great song. I'm not sure how good thier Manager is. I certainly would have promoted them differently. Certainly if bands like AC/DC or others that haven't made a record in years can be promoted on VH1 Classic than why couldn't a-ha. Its really stupid.

  • Well..I've interacted with their manager a little. He seems like a good guy that's more open to ideas than the average record label exec. a-Ha should have been promoted as a LIVE act. They could have easily got slots in festivals such as Music Midtown etc. Playing at festivals was what got Depeche Mode into the limelight - and their chart performance, in general, was never as good as a-Ha's. Yet, they play venues like Madison Square Garden. I've heard the band is amazing LIVE.

  • super song!!

  • i just love the band. got this one stuck in my head its amazing. going to see them live in november :D

  • I love the band too, can't wait for November

  • A-HA simply awesome. The first four songs on the new album are great after that they tone it down a bit and it gets a bit dreary, i love upbeat 80s anthems like this from a-ha. Awesome band and you can see where coldplay (who dont have shit on a-ha) get their music from. Always been a fan, they make unique, nice music oh and Michael Jackson was a big fan!

  • What a shame, I wanted it to go to Number One.

    :-(

This is fast becoming a favourite album or a tie with East Of The Sun.

  • a-ha enters the UK album chart at # 5

  • My fav song from the new album.... Totally A-ha,makes me think back to 1985 when i first clocked the guys....

  • This is my fave song from the new album! :)

I wanted to go see them live but nobody would go with me :( bcos not many people my age know them, the media should promote their music more.

  • This album hasn't left my cd player.

  • Amazing album and I to have been playing since it landed on my hall carpet on monday last week..........

  • I've always hated how the media bigs up Coldplay all the time and hardly ever gives a-ha any credit. I don't hate Coldplay i think they have some good songs but when it comes to pure talent a-ha kicks Coldplay's ass. Magne and Paul are much better songwritters than all of the guys from Coldplay and Morten is definatly a better vocalist than Chris Martin.

  • Man, i totally agree! Coldplay is a good band but i think that media should make justice to a-ha.

  • @PhillT1988 Just out of curiosity - why did you give especially Coldplay as an example?

  • wow! great song! A strong HIT with a Strong melody. Some songs in this abum Sound like depeche mode but it's OK because a-ha and DM are my favourite bands!

  • I'm with you. :)

  • this is brilliant, its sure to be a big hit single,,,

  • And they are like "sister" bands. They are from the same time, so it is fear enough that they have the same influences.

  • muy buen albun , esta cancion es muy buena

    exelente el grupo .....

  • very nice song :))

  • This is my favorite track on this release! These guys are still going and I love it! This band speaks to me. They keep me going. Nothing like them! Come and tour in the U.S. please!!!!

  • I think aha newest album is as great as their older albums but hey thats my opinion...

  • No way. "Shadowside" is one of the best songs they've written. I am always skeptical with A-ha...because one should have high standards with a band with such potential...but I think their nadir was Memorial Beach. Duran Duran, for example, is presently in a sort of nadir.

  • Hey there,

I've been thinking all day, here and there, about Memorial Beach. It has an amazing mood to it...and it has the rawness of East of the Sun, the album.

I think, upon further reflection, Minor Earth and Analogue have some pretty cheesy material, lyric-wise and these corny Major Chord chorus love-songs..so my question: if Memorial Beach was their zenith, why did they break up? Also, you really don't like the song Shadowside? thanks for your time.

  • I've got to give Shadowside a proper listen, NewYorkviolets. Then I can be 100% it's not my thing.

I too love the rawness of Memorial Beach...it is an album where a-ha dodnt give a damn and that really played to their strengths...they made the album they perhaps were longing to since the beginning, and maybe they were at their peak then? (as others on here have suggested?)

  • EOTSWOTM album is a goody...I love I Call your Name..now there was a smash hit that never happened...perhaps like Velvet.

The thing about all their other albums, is that they were a progression. I don't see how Foot of The Mountain is....its seems a massive backwards step - it is so bereft of any quality or any oomph, dammit! And on what other album has a-ha lacked any spark to such a degree?

    Thanks for your time!

  • Did you ever notice that "Minor Earth, Major Sky" is basically the same song as "Move to Memphis," only, IMHO, better lyric-wise. I think Memorial Beach is the darkest album and EOTSWOTM and MB both shine for the guitar and piano work. On this album it's all electronica. Which is what they wanted to get away from with the two above-mentioned albums...so in a way they are going back to that. Did you like Analogue, Minor Earth, or Lifelines, the albums?

  • Not sure about MEMS sounding like MTM - I can see some similarity - yeppers.

I know a-ha may claim that FOTM is going back to their roots...but their 1st three albums were vastly superior to FOTM IMHO.

There is far more passion and depth and....well, talent going on in those earlier albums. FOTM is such a lazy, damp effort.

I liked all of the 1st 5 songs on Analogue and Keeper of the Flame - I give the rest a miss.

I call Lifelines the track "deathlines" though it is better than FOTM.

  • I think MOMS album is very good - though I agree with some critics that it is a few tracks too long. You'll Never Get over Me - now THERE is a tune!!!

So, NewYorkViolets, is the music of your band just like a-ha then?

Do you look like Morten? (phwooar) One peep on your profile said you look like Billy Idol....interesting!

    Zip

  • my favourite song!! =) love yah dad

  • It's taken me lots of listens but i'm starting to really like the new a-ha album...it's a grower..!!!

  • This is an awesome track and a great album. People like Get Zippy shouldn't waste there time listening to a-ha when they quite clearly don't like them as this is one in a long line of negative comments on anything related to a-ha.

    Long Live a-ha!

  • what?! you're this shit you're are talking about. the best of a-ha.

  • The new album is absolutely brilliant! Hopefully there will be a lot of promotion outside of Germany as well, every song on the album deserves it.

If you want to find out about the "bridge" between early A-ha and The Doors, do check out my account.

  • Fantastic - the hole new album is brilliant.

  • Great great song and album ! I am Belgian and I don't understand why the band is so ignored here and in France....

  • The album has gotten to number 1 in Germany - lets hope they do the same in UK in July when they will realesed the singel and album there

  • This track is so addictive. You want to hear it again and again. Great melody. I am really curious about the images in the videoclip, if they choose it as a single.

  • take these off youtube you scumbag

  • Brilliant opener to a brilliant album. Hopefully get them a uk top 5 hit. It would certainly be deserved.

  • I can feel it in my bones, this will be their massive hit in years.

    if it isn't , then I don't understand why.

This is the most perfect pop track ever.

  • the song is perfect.

    thank you norway for a-ha.

  • Buy this album, it`s an awesome one, a perfect a-ha album...

  • I hope that Warner will rerelease the first three albums in remastered editions. These albums deserve better sounds and a-ha fans deserve additional tracks, b sides, booklets.

  • Ditto on all of the above!!!!

  • my # 1 / 2009

I love this song so much,

    i wanna marry it <3

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!

  • I love this BAND !!!

The New Album is wonderful !!!!

  • wonderfull, its like the a-ha of old

  • In my opinion the one of the best songs on the album, thank you royk09 for sharing.I've bought the cd, and it's great! Not that I'd expected anything else from the best band ever:-)Can't wait to see them in Oslo friday, it's the highlight of my week!

  • This song is great and the album too... thanks royk9 anyway having the songs up here doesn't stop me to get the CD... A ha rules... Mexico What's you

  • Thats the spirit!

  • BUY THE ALBUM!!!

    A-HA needs your support.

P.S loving this song to bits, what a chorus!

  • AMERICAN A-ha FANS: The only way A-ha will get played, sold & tour here is if their label gives them an American representative. The rep markets, communicates and pushes American radio to play their music. The product & tours follow once they get played again and see a market. A-ha's label is Universal Music Deutschland

Stralauer Allee 1, 10245 Berlin. Youtube won't allow a link so go look up the webpage and write them! A-ha's single is currently #2 over there. We have to pressure their label!

  • Holy crap this album is good. Don't let the free listens stop you - this needs to be properly purchased.

  • @PorcupineJuice What did you expect? This is A-HA! The greatest band in universe! :-)

  • Full sound. It gives me such a great feeling. Love the chorus and bridge.

I wish that I was in Norway right now. They are having store meet and greets, signing cds and taking pictures. The rest of the world has it so good! Love the buys for me here in America.

  • DITTO! DITTO! Would love to be in Norway right now!

This has to be one of the BEST songs they have ever recorded.. this is on the level of "Take On Me" only better!! Catchy melody, great lyrics and Morten sounds amazing, brilliant!!! If Universal releases it as a single & promotes the hell out of it... it could be a #1 HIT around the world! However, I am worried with all the songs now posted on YouTube! PLEASE BUY THE ALBUM, DO NOT DOWNLOAD FREE MUSIC! This is like stealing from the band!!

  • Hey,

I was able to get some great pictures untouched by logos or wording from the band's label. They are super large and my contact actually sent them straight to my email address. I can forward them to you if you email me, o.k..

  • They have outdone themselves....this song is right upthere among the very very best of all they have ever done. Same goes for Sunny Mystery

  • I agree with you, hellvik, 1000%!!! They should release this song next, then Shadowside and them Sunny Mystery!!!! They could have 4 or 5 huge hits off this album if they release the right songs! Fantastic album and Morten sounds amazing!

  • einfach nur geil...

  • the return of the band #1 in Norway... i m very proud of this band!!!

  • oszalałam przy tej piosence!!! wróciło dawne świetne A_HA!!!!!!!

  • Really great song! Like the electronic sound.

Please come too Denmark soon! ! !

  • Totally top song. Like the electronic sound.

Please come too Denmark soon! ! !

  • I have to say, that it is the best I ever heard from A-Ha and yes the whole album is great with more fantastic songs.

  • This is such a fucking cool song!!! The whole album sounds so promising....and I normally like a-ha's rocking guitar side...

  • I still enjoy East of the sun, west of the moon and Memorial beach albums. Both albums deserve mega success. But deep down i am glad that they are not obsessed about success.

  • I agree. Those two albums are by far the best a-ha albums in my opinion. Oh, they could have been the best indie band in the world...

  • Concering pop standards they were always individual and weird. Shy on stage and generously sentimental on their records were loved by individuals too!

  • I agree 100%... these two albums are also my favorites and were A-HA at their best! However, having said that, I think this album (with songs like this one, Sunny Mystery & Shadowside) will put them on top again where they have always belonged! A-HA has always been unique... but that is their charm, their music and their success!
