  • I absolutly loved singing this...you can get so caught up singing it...I get chills singing or listening to it. For a long while I kept try to find the words, then I found this, so thank you to whoever posted it :D

  • This is excellent! Just one thing - on "tender blue," the first basses have that chord-making suspended flat sixth (an E-flat), but I couldn't really hear it here...though perhaps I'm not listening carefully enough. My choral director is pushing us to stick out on that. =D

  • I feel as though the sopranos and altos are being a little too harsh on their moving line. That being said, their slides were very well done! The second tenor part needs to come through on the b natural during the ooo's. This is a very important note! Entrances could be sharper. I heard some hissing with s's. Very well done though. The Mortal Clay part stuck out to me the most. Remember to connect with the music and remember who it is for!

  • our district choir did this this year. in febuary. i must admit...this isnt wonderful. we did it alittle faster on parts and this recording feels likie its dragging a lot.

  • @livetilldeath101 Lady in the Water was commissioned for this choir[2006-2007]. I would say they did it exactly the tempo at which it was supposed to be sung. The composer worked with them.

  • We did work specifically with Eric Barnum on this piece after this concert. This definitely isn't our best recording of this song- if I can figure out how to put another one up, I will. We ended up singing this on our Seattle/Vancouver tour, which is where we met with Barnum.

  • The description says that this song was commissioned for this choir. I would think this is exactly how the tempo should be, no?

  • @OHSCC Well I'm sure they've worked with him on this specific song as well. Probably more than once or twice. My point here is that, to an extent, there is no right tempo. You may have done it differently but one's not better than the other. A lot of people prefer this tempo. You may prefer the faster tempo. I know I wouldn't want this song sung any slower. I think it's perfect just like you think yours is perfect. I just found your comment to be rather disrespectful.

  • I look back at this video and STILL can't believe I was a part of it. How lucky we were for Eric Barnum to allow us to commission it for him, he is such a talented composer! Such an amazing song :)
