  • You really need to work on your LunZhi (five fingers) a lot.

  • Well, my wife is a pipa teacher from Beijing. She's going to be staying in the US, West Coast soon. I'll give you more details, if anyone is interested learning. Mind you, she's very strict and she did learn from a pretty good school in Beijing.

  • nice playing I think that´s a pipa right? I love chinese culture but unfortunately we do not have enough access to your culture or chinese people in my city ( it´s a small one in brazil) but i think you play allright. hei! DO you think you could do me a favor? translate to me in english what that song "once upon a time in china" speak about. • thats nice but not as good as me

  • @persiejoseph shut up!!

  • As a musician, upright bassist, I've noticed that you're being too tense, and maybe a bit nervous while performing for us all o.o The reason for the unclean 16th notes is because of the tension >< Otherwise, thank you for performing a beautiful peice :) Remember! There is no such thing as music if there is no emotion or point across with your notes!

  • hi lisa! its great what you played!! really nice and thx for this post!i am also very interested in learning how to play pipa. i have difficulties in finding somenone who would teach pipa in germany. maybe u can help me since you mentioned you learned it in china? do i need to understand chinese? how much was it approx? or does someone else has an idea where else i could learn pipa? appreciate for any help!

  • @mrswong888 Well, it would definitely help to understand chinese, since some of the finger movements you do have chinese names. However, I'm sure you could find a teacher that also speaks english, or in your case german? My chinese is not that good either, but I still managed to learn! lol. My pipa was just a beginner one, so it was not very expensive, I don't remember the exact cost...sorry! Anyways, thanks for the comment! :)

  • Nice playing, I love it :) I wish I could play one of those...thing is I play piano, guitar, bass, drums, trumpet, trombone, violin and sing...You think thats too much? haha :) GO CHINESE INSTRUMENTS :D

  • @TheMrmazzah Wow! Playing multiple instruments is definitely really challenging, and takes talent! good job! I only play piano, pipa, and flute. lol :)

  • nice music im from morocco i love china traditional music

  • tienes mucho talento, sigue asi , y gracias por compartir tu musica !!! very nice !! thankyou for share your talent, sorry my worst english !!!

  • nice! u got talent!

  • I play guitar and bass, and one of my friends had a Cambodian instrument that sat on the floor but required you to press your fingers between elevated frets like that, and it took a lot of finger strength and endurance in order to play it clean and consistent over time... So you have my kudos for taking this instrument on and persevering with it since your visit to China. Congratulations and keep it up!!! You're doing a good job with that style, just keep practicing and feeling it out =)

  • You picked a difficult instrument to continue but keep at it. You may be able to find a teacher by looking for Chinese cultural centers or, if your city is big enough asking at the Chinese foreign embassy or foreign consular.

  • @cmnkisrule Thanks for the support! I will definitely keep at it! :)
