i am from india ..many yogis describe there experience of astral world i think switzerland is that astal world ..no doubt the world best country ..pure and natural..i wish i born there .....
There is no "Official Language" in Switzerland. There are regions that speak French, which I understand is intelligable to people from France, Italian, which is a fairly foreign but identifyable dialect of italian, and German...ah...this is a completely unintelligable collection of nonsense and garble to anyone who speaks german. If you go to Switzerland, learn french. Your time will be spent better.
@whatuwantmom It depends on where you live, if you're african you'll probably find it cold. Most of Switzerland isn't that cold actually, and temperatures during summer exceed 30°C. I live in ticino, in the italian speaking part of the country, and weather is even slighty warmer than the rest of Switzerland... Of course, during winter nights temperatures can drop down to -10 or even below, even in Ticino, but you stay at home to sleep :)
What makes a country great, are the people....not the sites...from all i've read, the Swiss are one of the most civilized people there are in this world..:( .I'm actually glad that at least some don't have to put up with all the s$%@ i get daily in my country.
Probably if i ever get the chance to move in another country to escape the injustice i've faced so far, Switzerland, Norway and probably Japan would be my only choices...
Cheers from Romania.(at least some, admire you folks)
I agree with your observation. you actually find no wild animals and bords. Only Swiss cow is visible everywhere. You do not hear birds pirching in the morning or evening. IN Zurich or Luzern lakes, you find some duck and guls.
(I'm Swedish and I wish Switzerland as well as my dear neighboring Norway one day will get connected, together the "small" intelligent countries like us will be very strong and influential).
and i live here cause of its old culture, freedom and (till now) still places of intact nature. But how long? Land gets more and more covered with cement - -
You know what's cool, is that my last name is Murren but that's not really the reason I wanna move there. I wanna move there because, it's a neutral, pacifist government/people and also well defended.
well i like the country and the cash is a lot.. i like peace..berne city.. bouvier bernois.. chocolat... german language.. is a dream live in Schweiz :)
I speak 5 languages.. Portuguese(oficial) , italian, spanish, english, japonese, i am learning french... and my grandmother she lives in germany... and she teach me.. well a teach is better.. i am student in this moment... and i go stud graphic design :)
Im living in Arosa at the moment. Its in Graubunden (may have spelt that wrong) near Chur. Up in the mountains. I cant wait till it starts snowing and I can start snowboarding everyday :D
I suppose so. I know french quite well and I can speak a bit of german, and speak english fluently. They didn't teach me anything else. I couldn't if I tried. Strange really.
this country is the best .. I love it God bless it .. she always stays away from problems and keep a good relation with all people .. she never says that some people are enemies or othersare freinds ! that`s way every one like this country .. also its people they are so nice to every one
I don`t know how to say it in their language , but : I love Switzerland ..! any one can help me to translate it to them ??
Romanche. Something like that. You are right that is only spoken by a few people. It is kept as an official language for tradition's sake. I live in the in Geneva so only know french
That's strange, because I live in Lugano (actually now I live in Lausanne because of university) and until the end of the highschool I learned italian, english, french and german! :) That's one of the positive points of living in the italian part of Switzerland :)
Yes I heard that Suiss people speak 4 languages , and what a coincidence :) !!.. they speak moust of my favourite languages ! which I planned to learn them in the next 4 years which are Italian , French and I`ll love & learn German too D:
well, yes my friend told me that people in for example french-speaking side they speak french and so on .. but those languages are nice ..love them because of the great literature I read it in these languages .. speacially Italian & French ..
Go to Interlaken, it's in the bernese swiss alps. Most famous place in the world with NZ for extreme sports like skydiving, paragliding, canyoning, rafting, climbing, bungee jumping, base jumping and some more. Many young people from all over the world are there. Have fun !
I just got back from there, to the bad old UK (where I live)....Did'nt want to come home....been there 3 times....never DO want to come home:(
The place has a way of getting under your skin. BTW..The swiss are definitely NOT "backwoodsmen"..They are some of the most Inteligent and creative people in europe! They could teach us in the UK a thing or 3 about how to run a country...God bless em!
@3tangle3 we mostly speak swiss german, our own style of german :)
but there are french and italian parts too, and i guess the language u are talking about is romantsh, it's also spoken here, but like u said, very few people can actually speak romantsh
