35% of Russian towns don't have connection to Natural Gas pipes. In many towns Mobile phones are the only phones. Paved roads and water pipes are still a "luxury" in many towns of western Russia(not even talking about south or east). In the last 18 years we have lost more people than we did during WW2. Millions have died because they could not afford medicine(food and heating gas), became dependent on narcotics and alcohol, became infected with imported diseases like HIV, etc. More than 50% of our infrastructure built in USSR is falling apart.
CIS is a "symbolic" organization that has existed for 18 years. There is limited cooperation, no attempts to remove trade barriers to create a united Economic space. Afghanistan hasn't managed to train a single foreign terrorist in 10 years, now they all have to go to Pakistan - that was our goal and we are still achieving it. I don't understand what you are talking about, I lived through that period. When idiots were talking nonsense like "Russia without the other Republics will be powerful" waving around the flag of Tsarist Russia. The West exploited idiotic "Independence" organizations. Nobody was going to invade USSR in 1991, when there were 10 thousand Nuclear Warheads waiting for launch, USSR was 5-6 times more powerful than modern Russian Federation.

35% of Russian towns don't have connection to Natural Gas pipes. In many towns Mobile phones are the only phones. Paved roads and water pipes are still a "luxury" in many towns of western Russia(not even talking about south or east). Maybe there are more automobiles but this only leads to more deaths from automobile accidents.

In the last 18 years we have lost more people than we did during WW2. Millions have died because they could not afford medicine(food and heating gas), became dependent on narcotics and alcohol, became infected with imported diseases like HIV, etc. More than 50% of our infrastructure built in USSR is falling apart.

CIS is a "symbolic" organization that has existed for 18 years. There is limited cooperation, no attempts to remove trade barriers to create a united Economic space. And many understand this, otherwise there would not be suggestions to create a "Eurasian Economic Community". USSR won't be re-unified, United Russia Party are not Communists. Belarus has been attempting to form a "Union state" with Russia for over 8 years.

What is needed is a Confederation, to unite Russian Federation, Ukraine, Belarus, and Kazakhstan, the former industrial centers in USSR. And this needs to happen in next 5 years, before it is too late. In Russian Defense, Space, and Aviation Industries the average worker is 49 years old, there are simply no new younger workers. This needs to change, but I don't see anything being done.
