The very first moment I heard the first few notes...I knew. How much more sad could be to learn of their demise. But they left us with their precious memories and will live on...will not be forgotten. Thank you for all the beautiful rare video's!
Wonderful how the only guy left alive from the Post-Iveys (Dunno if Ron is still alive) incarnation of the band is the one that wrong just one good song and was only in it for the money.
It figures that the only band that could have carried on for the Beatles had such a tragic end. I mean, they had such an easy takeoff, and the only band to ever work with the Beatles, you'd think they would have been bigger than they were. They made a bad choice in a financial manager, and that of all things was their downfall. These guys ARE music.
Umm.. amazing added video footage .. I've got the original members videos in the original VHS format and clearly this was not in it .. Thanks- for sharing ..
Baby Badfinger..apathy from Apple and shark infested waters drowned the great pete ham and tommy evans. the others were good, to be sure, but what a mess. May stan polley and the other pirates rot in hell. And say, R&RHF- get your act together and give this fabulous band its due! RIP dear tommy and pete.
Tom Evans ....my my, he is so young. (And this makes me feel old.) I love how at 2:19 it appears that Ron Griffiths has sung "Maybe tomorrow I will love again," when it should be "you will," and Pete Ham gives him a look. Great song.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOMMY EVANS! wow, 62 today....where has the time gone (who am I to say that.? I was sadly never on the earth at the same time as he)- if only you could've been here to celebrate. RIP. Love and miss you
Wow, wow, WOW! Thanks a million for this video! Seeing Badfinger, pre-Joey Molland, was a special treat. Seeing the infamous Ron Griffiths, whom I'd only read about, was absolutely wondeful! (nice to see Pete smile for a change!) What a great clip of a band that should undoubtedly be inducted into the hall of fame!!! What's wrong with the world that such a great band is unappreciated??? C'mon Cleveland - give these guys their due!!!! RIP in Pete, Joey and Mike.
So is Ron Griffiths. He's still living in Swansea, always happy to participate in keeping the memory of the Iveys alive. He's a superb gentleman, still has a great singing voice.
Infamous??? Ron ? he was a really nice guy..I first met them in 1969 as the Iveys..he was a great musician and it wasn't his idea to leave the band,,,
Thanks for posting this. I had no idea there was any pre-Badfinger video. What a treat. The LP is one of the great Apple rarities: released only in Japan and on the continent I think.
strawberrypicker123: I know how you feel about being the only person in your high school who knew about Badfinger!
Out of about 3,000 students in my old high school, which I graduated from last year, I was probably the only student who knew about them. It's really sad how unrecognized and how underrated Badfinger was and still is.
make some mix cds and sneak in some oldies - only show the names of the songs - ask if folks like certain songs or wanna hear more from a band that played any particular song, and want to know who it is ;) each song a diff artist.

With their wavy hair and suits they look more like sort of poets from the 19th century. Yes, it's a compliment.

Maybe tomorrow, I will love again
I'll never know until I've looked into her eyes
Maybe tomorrow, I will love again
I'll never know until I've seen her once or twice
And so I'm living for a dream. Each lonely day spent looking for the sunshine
I'll make believe that I don't care. I'll tell my friends I love my life, I'm happy
Maybe tomorrow, I will love again
I'll never know until I've looked into her eyes
Maybe tomorrow, I will love again
I'll never know until I've seen her once or twice
