Do you know of another digital piano with a realistic feel for around the same price??? Really good job on the piece... thinking I'm going to play it for piano recital next semester. :)
Hello, I love the sound of the keys on the piano version you have recorded. A request please, I'm looking to buy this model of piano for my son. Can you tell me what to you the pros and cons of this model for use especially to learn to play the piano? Thank you very much.
@PinkyDynkydoo I would recommend this piano for a beginner. The keys are not 100% realistic, but they're close enough for a beginner. And in my opinion this is the best digital piano available at its relatively-low price.
The cons: The other sounds it can do (like organ, and harpsichord, etc.) are not very good. But the piano sound is good, so if that's what you mainly want, then it's not a problem. Also the foot pedal isn't very good, but if you dislike it you can buy a replacement.
I have no idea why I prefer your interpretation to almost every other out there, even by grand masters. I keep coming to this video to hear your version. Thanks for playing so sensibly.
Im seriously considering buying a px130 and the deciding factor is how much the feel of the keys is like that of an actual piano because i already have a keyboard with 500 sounds and features and pitch shift and all that jazz but I want simply the best weighted digital 88 key piano with the best quality and realistic piano sound as well. So is the PX130 for me??
i really missing the great lighting key in new casio piano. someday i need to buy a new. so hope casio made a new privia PL40R or celviano AL100R or AL150R.
LK keyboard dont have 88 key are like toys so that is no option
i learn comptine dun autre te very fast with lighting key
Hi Sean, really nice your perfomance on this beatiful waltz from our Master Chopin!
I have the same piano, a very good action and sound and I´m learning piano from 8 months ago but my questions is: How many years are you playing piano to reach your actual skill? Many thanks and best regards from Spain, Manuel.
Well I just placed an order for a PX 130 on amazon. I'm excited. Will be arriving on Tuesday. I also bought the stand with it because I don't want it to shake around on the cheaper stands. I went to a music store and they had the PX 130 for $549 without the stand. On Amazon it was $516, free shipping, with the stand included.
Can't wait to start posting my thoughts on Tuesday!!!
@mxh91 This was my first video, and it was kind of a pain. I recorded it on a camera that didn't have a sound input, so I only got video. As I was playing, I used the "record" feature on the piano. Then, afterwards, I connected the audio output on the piano to the input on my computer, played back the recording on the piano, and then used Audacity on the computer to record it. Then I synchronized it with the video using Virtual Dum.
@seanm2 Thanks for the info. I have a few questions though. So after I use the "record" feature to record a track onto my piano, I use the USB cable as the audio input/output and connect it to my computer right? From there I take the recorded file out of it (.csr) out and record it using Audacity?
@mxh91 Not exactly. The USB cable is for transmitting MIDI data, like if you want to use the keyboard to control another instrument like a synthesizer or computer. You'd need to get a cable to connect the headphone outout on the piano to the microphone or line-in input on the computer.
@mxh91 I wouldn't do it that way again because it was too much work. If I did it again, I'd just user the webcam on my computer and connect the 1/8" headphone jack on the piano to the computer, and then plug in some headphones in the other headphone jack so I could hear myself playing, and record the video and audio on the computer at the same time.
@mxh91 WIth the right kind of cable. One end goes into the headphone jack on the piano, the other goes into the mircophone (or line-in) jack on your computer.
haven't you had problems with the keys, i mean clicking keys movement or gaps? i've read that it is not durable. but i like the features and i cant decide between this and the Yamaha P85
@licandres01 sounds like you're working for Yamaha, you've asked the same question on every PX130 post......I've had the Privia 110 and now the 130 for over three years and not had any problems with noisy keys
@psmall54 haha no i don't work for Yamaha, i just cant decide between those DPs, i like the Casio better but since i read some reviews i was doing some research and finally i hear from someone who has owned on px-130 enough time to tell me if they are good, thank you.

I read that the keyboard hammer action feel fades within six months, is that right? i cant decide between this and the Yamaha P85. please let me know, i like this casio better but it makes me nevious that some people say that they dont last long time
These seem to play nicely, I played with one at Costco and have been considdering one ever since. I think though that I will connect it into my sound system here because the Boston Accoustics with an Infinity sub sound better then 8w casio's. Not that I am cracking on what they have there, but i like to feel the music, I love to feel the baseline not just hear it.
@mythril4 In that case you may want to look into the new Casio PX-3. It´s the same keyboad action and sound as the others, but it doesn´t have any internal speakers.
@cocovi The keyboard has two headphone outputs. Plug your headphones into one, and connect the other the your computer (or video camera's) audio input. Then record.
There's no escapement. Because of that, you can get something similar to a repetition lever; you don't have to bring a key all the way back up to play it again, making trills and mordents easier. The keys are basically a lever and use no springs, just gravity. You can feel the difference. It's not as good as real grand action, or maybe even a nice upright action (I've never played a really nice upright), but I find it better than the action on any grandma's-living-room upright I've played.
Thanks! I find the touch on the PX-130 very good, better than the touch on a lot of real pianos. The keys are glossy and smooth (but they are on some real pianos, too). But the weight of them is very realistic, and it comes from gravity, not springs.

Do you hear any clanking sounds from the keys? I really I want to buy one, however the older models had a "clanking" defect as time went by.
Thanks in adavance.

Does it have escapement/let off? How similar are they to the keys of real pianos? Do you feel inertia like on a real piano?
