These guys were great -- emphasis on were. This song epitomizes the sound Aerosmith should have stayed with. Not that their second and later albums didn't contain great moments, but they slowly lost their way as they soldout to mass appeal -- like many bands did. But who can blame them, being rich and famous can't be all bad. ;-)
This was when Aerosmith was Aerosmith. Before they became the commercial machine they are today. When they actually wrote most of their own music and lyrics. Man, that's when they were musically good! Good to rock out to, good enjoy with friends!
@motorude I'm sorry my friend, but Jaded, to me, is what I refer to as bubble gum pop music. Now, don't get me wrong, I like pop music. My definition of bubble gum pop is that it appeals to a much broader market and is much more commercially profitable. I was an Aerosmith fan when they were still up and comers. They had no choice but to write all of their music and it spoke to us, their fans. In the late '80's, when they had the success with Run DMC, they realized the potential of pop.
I still have at least 2 copies of this album, plus the 8-track, plus a home made 8-track version I had before I bought the 8-track. I also have the sheet music to the entire album, plus all the songs performed live on VHS tape, but I don't still have my Night in the Ruts/Right in the Nuts 3/4 sleeve shirt I ordered with the order blank inside the album :(
@Animelloveer no i smoked weed a lot too much. i was smoking it furiously and im pretty sure im schizo and bi polar now. Its not something to be done often. it should be treated like mushrooms u know what i mean? like only experimented with not to be done daily and get addicted to *a high* traps your soul man.. u have to be the one that controls your life not some green plant :)
@ImTwixtorXD Alright, man. I hear ya. Don't really smoke myself, actually, only on certain occasions with certain people. Just trying to set the mood, s'all. Old bluesy 'Smith is the ideal joint music, and, well, any other rock n' roll debauchery you can think of.
This LP was one of the turning points in R&R in the day. This was by far one of the best LP's of the 70s. shame Dream one was so over played, was not one of my favs on the LP but what can you do. I had the 8 track tape at least a year before Dream on ever made it on the radio. Killer LP!!!!!! Them followed my Get Your Wings, man it was the day for sure!!!!
Brings back some good memories.... my friends older brother was the sound engineer at the studio, listened to this album on reel 2 reel tape before its release.
Always been my favourite song from that album of course it got little air play being like 7 minutes long
This is when Aerosmith was at their best. Their first four albums are classics, after that while they may have had a few here or there, most of their new stuff stinks. They are one of many great bands that have "sold-out".
Oustanding album, too bad for Aerosmith it was all downhill from here. Aerosmith, Boston, Van Halen, all groups that the first thing they did was the best thing they did,
@prober45 Aerosmith's Nine Lives LP from nineteen-ninety-SEVEN is, unfortunately, not nearly as original as their first four albums. They didn't write any of their songs without the help of crappy songwriters that were out to screw up Aerosmith's original 70s style, whereas in the 70s they wrote EVERYTHING on their own, and where their music sounded THE BEST. I admit I like the track 'The Farm', 'Full Circle', and the title track, but it can't compare to classics like Toys and Rocks.
a strawberry rollin paper and some pathetic marijuana, a little boonesfarm strawberry hill, a big ole brand new cadillac convertible, daytona hahaha beach, i have NO REGRETS!!!!

so the lyrics are, "your headin down a one way street"
but in this and every other version it sounds like, "your heads a one way street" or "your heads like a one way street"
