  • I've been listening to these tracks and for the most part I like 'em. There's too much of that male soccer fan sing-along type stuff and I'm guessing this overkill was Rhodes messing with the mix? Joe Strummer was heart and soul of The Clash. Mick was acting like a dork when they fired him. I'm sure at some point they would have been back by now had Joe not passed so young. Mick seems to have his act together these days.

  • Saw both line ups obviously Mick-Joe-Paul-Topper for me the one but in 86 Apollo in Glasgow rocked and it was better with Paul -Joe plus 2 than no Clash atol. TBH After Shams gig last mointh and Hillsborough stuff Mick did im hoping theyll tour again without Joe not same but needed and better than NO CLASH ATOL. Stay Free Clash City Rockers.

  • @DelStrainComedy Seems to me you could put Elvis Costello in The Clash to get almost the right voice for Strummer. Obviously it will never be the same but I think it could work

  • @talkingwall yeah except costello never had anything to say ever, except to pump it up....theirs plenty of fists gettin pumped nowadays...that and costello is jive and wack

  • Hey ...cool pic. Taken in York when they came busking and ended up buying drinks down the pub for everyone. Class!

  • Paul Simonon is always COOL! He can USE every instrument :p

  • we miss you Joe.

  • The Clash - Mick Jones - Topper Headon = Joe Strummer featuring Paul Simonon and three other guys

  • Fucking brill, Is it me or does Strummer seem to sing every song like it's his last... shame we can't find this with today's bands....

    R.I.P Mr Joe Strummer x

  • i saw the clash many times...i loved them and still i love....they made the first unplugged tour in the planet.....my kids now love this band and know all about them as an old stuff about their daddy....

  • Nothing can touch the original lineup, No question.

But I think Pete Howard didn't get enough credit. I saw the Clash at the US festival in '83 and that dude can play! Did he have any success in England after ClashV2? I saw them once more in '84. Mick was gone. I was 17 and had a great time at the show, but it wasn't the same. But it still rocked pretty hard. And I was one of the callers on Joes radio interview in S.F. I sound really young, nervous+stupid! :)

  • can you send me this?

  • @PaleCurtain - message me your email address

  • @PaleCurtain rip a copy of this from vidtomp3.com

  • @PaleCurtain thats how i get all my crap, i dig the way "career opp" sounds on the video version of live @ shea, but the new mix they did for the cd just sounds like a different performance...not bad ever...just the mixes sometimes...

  • It's awesome, but it's not the same without Mick.

  • Man! wish I had an album of Clash II songs.

  • The Busking Tour was a stunt. We stopped the gig at The Drum Club Sunderland by means of pushing the crowd forward. Bouncers stopped it. Ha ha.

  • I like this , but i like the original Clash lineup.

  • Joe strummer still had potential even in those times

  • @damycityrocker Strummer always had potential. Even to his dying day he was making amazing music.

  • the clash 2 could have been really good, but the wrong people had f it up. this one rocks

  • can you send me this song? you know my adress, if dont, ask it with pm.

  • this was in '85, at that point in time it was a gutsy move on joe's part

  • Is the pic of them when they went busking aroun the uk?

The Clash - no sell out!

  • Yep. From May of 1985.

  • Yes, St. Sampsons Square, York

  • Where is this version from?

  • From the cd THE CLASH OUT OF CONTROL (LUCKY 8 STUDIOS,NOV.83)
