and deathwalk, it dies today had the same feel as adtr in some songs about 8 years before adtr hit the scene, so i wouldn't say they CREATED a new genre (although their singing style is different, and they do a broader pop/punk thing than it dies today, we'll put them in the same genre for now). but they DID put that genre on the map on a huge scale, and for that they deserve recognition. plus you gain another bonus point cuz you're arguments aren't retarded like thefvck's

i've heard bands like that; i consider adtr to be a different genre than bands like it dies today. adtr somehow manages to use screaming in a more lighthearted way - i can see adtr sitting on the shelves among the pop/punk records or the hxe records - idt can only go with the hxe ones (just watch some music videos, you'll see the difference). i can see where you're coming from, but i still think adtr has made themselves a new genre. :D

Dude, ADTR is very original for taking pop/punk which is just a fun, no bullshit style and adding some brutality to it. A lot of bands have copied them but if you listen to Homesick you realize these guys are for real. There's no bullshit in there. They have substance unlike a lot of deathcore/ hardcore/ screamo/ shitty ass bands who just write some shitty chugging breakdowns and their lyrics are just like everyone elses. Fuck that shit bro.
