Since ESPN started their radio network in NYC any ESPN employee is not allowed to be interviewed on WFAN. This is pretty common. Michael Kay cannot give interviews on radio (CBS 880) on the Yankees since he works for ESPN radio.

I remember hearing the "first" M&MD. Chris was filling in fo Imus in the morning and Mike filled in for the great Pete Franklin. Russo started that day with a Will Clark is better than Don Mattingly diatribe. That afternoon Mike responded and basically blew Dog's argument out of the water. Then the little faggot himself calls in and they started one of the funniest exchanges I've ever heard on radio.
Everything Dog brought up Mike swatted like a fly. The funniest line was when Chris said "Clark hit .310..." and Mike cut him off "When Mattingly hit .310 they wanted to cut his salary.", which is true, '88 or '89 George did say that. At one point Dog started babbling and Mike said "Be careful. You're starting to sound like a San Fransisco homer." the way Mike said homer left no doubt as to what he really meant. The whole segment summed up Dog's whole career in a nutshell.
Well Superbowl week, Russo had dozens of guests, even Bill Parcells, they said Mike was miles away in a run down hotel, with a leaking roof, reading excerts, from Joe Torre's book on SUPERBOWL WEEKEND COME ON!!
