  • You mentioned Dr Gabriel Cousens as one of the doctors who was against cacao.

How do you explain the several accounts of Dr Gabriel Cousens advocating the use of raw cacao?

  • I still see no proof.

  • Its not the point that hes lying, its that hes not providing any evidence. The reality as it seems to be from my research is that cacao can be good for you in MODERATION, as is the case with just about everything else. I wouldnt suggest eatting a handful every day.

  • At least he's not biased and selling raw chocolate on his website. I'd believe him over someone who is selling

  • If u read anything about dr. Ray Peat and Broda Barnes.. U might Wanna Stic to Saturated fats ONLY!! the Best fats for u!!

  • He's a liar Dr Gabriel says opposite here wwwyoutubecom/watch?v=ZVe3EAO1-4Y

  • This guy is just a parrot. All bird, no brain.

  • thank you so much, I've been drinking it everyday and not feeling so good.

  • He say's "Raw chocolate is unhealthy" aout 100 times but does not give one reason why. Just keeps saying it's unhealthy over & over, and this Dr. says so but does not give one reason why. Caffeine is fine in reasonable amounts. If you don't want to be called a jack ass learn how to back up what you say with hard evidence instead of just repeating your self over & over.

  • @ morochis i know how you feel. my advice is to try it yourself make it eat it and see how yo feel how your body react to it ...our body knows what is good for us, hence why what can be good for you might not be for me or viceversa. however there is a common law of basic natural organic food being good adn healthy for everbody, like raw food, vegetables, fruits, all you can get from nature, that you can make it yourself with love... food for the body, mind and spirit,. hope it helps x

  • bla bla bla bla so much bla bla what is this guy on commercial choc? well said awesomeopossumism i agree show us the science behind what u say.! no only bla bla bla

  • Perhaps in future presentations you can discuss more of the "science to back-it-up" instead of noting how many people say its bad for you. If you can't explain the science of it yourself then you are spreading ignorance.

  • wow. now i really don't know what to believe!!! i hear its good and then i hear its bad :(

  • I hate Carob. I call it "Satan's Chocolate. LOL. :)

  • I DONT KNOW MUCH ABOUT CHOCOLATE. WHEN THEY SAY RAW, THEY DONT MEAN UNCOOKED? THEY MEAN RAW AS IN PURE, OR UNCUT? I DO KNOW THAT DOCTOR JACOB TIETLEBAUM HAS SAID TO EAT SMALL AMOUNTS OF DARK CHOCOLATE FOR PEOPLE WITH CFS, OF COURSE IF IT DOESNT MAKE THEM FEEL BAD.

  • I choose my soul over 'scientists' any day. Everyday, actually. It's not for the taste, to be eating cacao. It's a SoulFood. I am finding that people who have really got what it takes to make a huge and very real change in this world, seem to resonate with cacao. I also find that people who tend to warn against it, don't seem to be as ready for the big shift. :) Peace be with you. It's ok to trust in yourself, no matter who tries to tell you why you shouldn't :)

  • so can you get high off this stuff?

  • Thank you so much for introducing me to Dr Adiel Tel-oran!

this certainly shifts my focus towars an even truer path! <3

  • A bit of perspective .. people should be applauded for making positive changes toward a raw diet.. lets not take absolutely everything away from them making them feel bad for having some cacao as a treat.. do we need to live in such a miserable draconian world where all we eat is lettuce and sprouts.. is too much bad? probably yes, but so is too much broccoli .. where does the nit picking end.. and I believe cacao does have some theraputic benefits in moderation..

  • my own personal experience with raw cacao is that i have not had any problems what so ever and i have2 to 3 servings a day everyday and i feel just fine i really dont understand what this guys agenda is all the symptoms he says i have not had any this video is really silly

try selling this video to the mayans who have been consuming it for thousands of years.i wonder what they would say.

  • @jcam9173 and too many vitamins may show symptoms of vitamin deficiency. This guy is making it seem like it is cyanide or something. Almost making me believe that a hersheys bar is more nutritious right? Ohh but we must learn from the monkeys because they only like to eat the pulp and such. Those monkeys and their advanced nutritional knowledge!!!! This guy is obviously a disinformant, either that or he needs to say more scientific facts. If this video is devoid of facts it should be deleted

  • @jcam9173 I could not agree with you more my friend. This video was so deprived of facts that I am actually going to drink some raw cacao powder to celebrate. This was a horrible presentation and definitetly not balanced. Of course there are good things and bad things about everything. And we cannot forget moderation is the key right? I mean you could be eating the healthiest vegetables in the world but too much of one thing can overload you on vitamins for example and symptoms may look like----

  • my own body says it's ok to eat so I eat it. My body tells me spinach is toxic for ME so I don't eat it. We must listen to our own body it will never let us down, it knows what's good for it and what is not.

  • @undermyskin999 I dont trust this guy, the evil forces are speaking through him to deceive us, haha. Welcome to the world of duality.

  • @jcam9173 If you are really interested in the answer look at my most updated videos.

  • Because it rich in saturated fat is not a danger!! There Has Never Been a Study That Stated Saturated Fats Are Bad For Us!! We Must Eat Sat fat!! if we dont our body will make them him self!! Id advice u to read The Obesity Epidemic by Zoe Harcombe and Not To Fear Saturated Fats!! They r good for us!!

  • what's the difference between Cacao fruit, nibs and seeds? what's what?

  • He is hired by Hersey's to discourage raw chocolate. Don't cut out the middle man (Hersey's)! I just made that bit up but I am very skeptical. No one is this adamant about something without some agenda. My favorite fact was that 22lbs. of cacao can kill you. (1) I'm not sure anyone could possibly eat that much of anything. (2) 22lbs of water would kill anyone too. Should we not drink water?

  • I gave up chocolate quite easily, and I use raw cacao and don't find it addictive at all, I don't always use a lot but I have and don't find it has weird effects...if you use a crap load everyday...YES that's bad, it can strain your adrenals.

  • The recommendations for raw cacao is ridiculous. Everything in moderation is my motto. If you eat a ton of chocolate most likely your going to have side effects. I take a bit of raw cacao once in a while; in my shakes and sometimes I just nibble on the beans. If your putting chocolate in everything, well then thats gonna cause problems.

  • i believe him.

  • I looked into both scientific sources you provided because I am genuinely curious and open minded. 1) Dr T says there ARE antioxidants in the beans. You claim otherwise. 2) You claim cacao is highly addictive. I know it isn't, at all, for me... as opposed to coffee or tea which I can get addicted to when I am stressed. So 2nd point you're proven wrong.

  • @amivag77

    3) None of the two scientists mentioned ANY scientific research/evidence that cacao is bad for humans. None. They both vaguely discussed that we shouldn't use the stimulants (like those in cacao) because they are toxic, but no specific scientific trials to demonstrate how serious, or not, this is. Indeed we ingest so-called toxic elements with a lot of our food, including plants, but our body can easily handle dispose it, no real issue. Thanks and waiting for serious evidence.

  • I had organic dark chocolate last week and i couldn't sleep. It was terrible I only ate one small bar in six months. I had no sleep and it was due to the caffeine I guess. I have heard it is toxic. I will research more about it. Thankyou Paul for this info.

  • You do look very handsome Paul ;) Blessings to you and your family!

  • I had chronic palpitations, especially when I smoked a joint, which I like to enjoy from time to time. Once I started eating very dark chocolate of 85% cacao (so, I'm talking about processed cacao you buy at the supermarket that isn't raw) I immediately noticed my hart-rate calming down, and after just one week, the palpitations went away completely, even when I smoked a joint.

Chocolate will never leave my diet again...

  • Raw Cacao fruit has high levels of anti-oxidants, the seeds have NONE or very little. People stop being fooled and wasting your money on Cacao seeds. the health is in the fruit not the seeds. the seeds are toxic.

  • @thedurianking noo the cacao is made from beans, i dont think seeds are in beans.

  • raw chocolate has the highest level of anti-oxidants. this guy is an idiot.

  • @JapanAlex01 Nope. It's in the fruit, not the seeds

  • @JapanAlex01 Paul is not an idiot. I just had a bar or organic raw chocolate in the last six months. ONE bar. I couldn't sleep and felt terrible the next day. I have given up cocoa nibs and I have been improving my diet and I look and feel incredible. I don't need cocoa for my health. The people from the Hunza Valley live till 120 years old and they never heard of chocolate. I love Paul.

  • Like to know how to save your life with junk food ? How to make junk food REALLY REALLY healthy for you?

Starve yourself till your on the verge of death, then eat a burger, it will save your life for sure, it will restore health, AND it will taste awesome. Job done!

  • Well what are the resaons why you allege that raw cacao is unhealthy? I don't see or hear anything to back up your claim, only that "raw chocolate is unhealthy" over and over. Facts please.

  • Ingesting bio-active compounds like caffeine and theobromine is good for you (and yes they are drugs).

  • 22 pounds of cacao can kill you? I'm pretty sure 22 pounds of water can kill you too. I'll stop drinking water then.

  • You gave me a headache! Such an unskilled, messy, unorganized presentation!

  • @iloveno3 Maybe you are eating too much cacao

  • @iloveno3

i totally agree with you! I said to myself "he's giving me a headache" before I even read your comment. Does he even say why exactly its bad for you?

  • I Believe what Paul is saying about chocolate, raw or cooked is not good for you. I personally have negative effects EVERY TIME I've eaten it. When i eat it, I'm hyped up, impatient, snappy. when i try to go off it, I'm irritable, angry and emotional. My inflammatory conditions flare up when i eat any caffeine from chocolate or coffee. I also sweat and feel overheated to from them. I'm sensitive and very in tuned with how my body feels.

  • this guy looks ill

  • are you saying that raw Cacao is raw caca?

  • o dear... i use 2-3 tablespoons of cacao powder everyday to make my chocolate shakes...

spinach has oxalic acids... and doesn't kfc and McDonald's have something called hydrogenate fats and preservatives?

when you can't find anything else to complain about I guess you have to start having to eliminate everything else...

  • @linghang30 Let us know how you feel when you go of fit cold turkey. Are you still energized and happy?

  • @TheCrosswind I hope you are successful in getting your point across to everyone...I have better things to worry about in life than the 1 in 10,000 angry people against cacao.

There are 70,000+ artificial chemicals causing DNA mutations to whole populations and here is a handful of people complaining about chocolate.

Thanks for your feedback... but I don't care... lol

  • It is very addictive!

  • An interesting video. I would like to see more of the "facts" you are talking about.

You mentioned saturated fat as an issue. Coconut has a lot of saturated fat and many experts agree it's good for us.

You mention it is potentially deadly to various animals. Being 100% vegan is very unhealthy for cats (can make them go blind) but does that mean you are against veganism?

22 lbs can kill a person. Hmm... I would think 22 lbs of a lot of otherwise healthy foods could kill me.

    An interesting video

  • @JonathanEvatt Paul posted on his video blogs of the important of getting blood test results recently. His results motivated him to add some raw animal products in his diet like eggs and goat milk or cheese. So, for him yes he doesn't agree with veganism and you should have extensive blood work done to see how you are doing internally. too much any fat is not good for you.

  • @TheCrosswind: Thanks for your response. I think you've made a number of erroneous statements. You've suggested I get bloodwork done presumably to see if my body is handling being a vegan or not. I don't follow a vegan diet, and didn't say I did. I appreciate the consideration though.

Saying "too much of any fat is not good for you" isn't helpful, is it? I mean, too much water isn't good for the body either. What's your point?

I think the points I made originally still stand. Where's the facts?

  • This is BLOWN OUT OF PROPORTION. If I sat down right now and drank 3 straight gallons of water, there is a very good chance I might go into shock and die from water intoxication poisoning. Does that mean water is bad? NO. It means we need to consume things in moderation.

Soy products have been linked to lower sperm counts in males. Does that mean that east-Asian countries (after using variations of soy as a staple food for thousands of years) can't have babies anymore? NO. Excess kills people.

  • Thank you for Caring and Sharing!! I've been using raw cacao for about 6 months and it Definitely is Crackacao. Am going to fast and clean my body.

  • Is this a joke?

  • I think this is a great video. I wish more people were opened-minded.

  • some people think its good some people think its bad. to each his own.

  • The whole deal couldhave been summed up in the last 2 minutes starting at 8:00 or later.

What about antioxidants that cocoa have? Personally, I think a little won't hurt, but I tried eating 3 tsp/day of choco powder and got mood swings. So for me it does't work.

  • look at the doctrine of signature of the whole raw cacao bean.. then decide.

  • if you want to eat chocolate SAFELY then KitKat bars and MARS bars are a very effective substitute. 100 % not raw and 100 % delicious at the same time, yet with no harmful toxins of the raw cacao. I am eating a MARS bar now to prove my point

  • Read the science at Sacred Chocolate website

  • Can you talk more about why you believe caffeine is not healthy, its a slightly different topic I think. What are your thoughts on coffee?

  • Comment removed

  • HU YEAH IT IS GOOD FOR U............DUMBASS......ITS ALL THE OTHER CHOCOLATE THAT IS BAD FOR YOU ALL THAT OTHER PROCESSED CHOCOLATE....

  • Beets and Spinach is high in oxalic acid. Does that mean you need to stop consuming it? Everything in moderation is okay. Even Cocaine! If you're eating Chocolate for breakfast ,lunch and dinner, then yeah it may be dangerous!!! Does one glass of red grape wine cripple your liver? Nope! Does one teaspoon of sugar make you go into a diabetic coma. I don't think so!----My opinion!

  • i watched a doco about dr. cousins health ranch and they were making raw chocolate there. I'm confused about ur comments

  • So don't drink green tea as it's poisonous because it has caffeine ;-)

  • Comment removed

  • from an individual who claims that he stopped listening to doctors years ago, just to have to go back to the research of medical doctors to back up his claim... hypocrites health institute is somewhat appropriately titled.

Anyway threobronine and mininum caffiene versus magnesium, chromium antoioxidants, iron, manganese, zinc, vitmain c, copper , fatty acids... how does the bad outweigh the good???

Its down to our own experiences, so I'll see what happens with toxic overload in 3 years time

  • Why? what is the reason ? . ok you say it's addictive. but all food is addictive u r addicted to raw food , right? is the carob industry paying you to say this ? just promoting websites? what about regular milk chocolate?

  • I can't believe how many people are not well educated on health . I read chocolate was bad for you years ago. I read it was toxic. It is sad how many people have been duped. I stopped eating chocolate but then started eating alittle because I was becoming duped by the commericalized fraudulent health industry. I believe what Paul Nison is saying is true. Listen to Dr. T.

  • @gojiberries2 Thank you! At least someone has sense here to see the truth!

  • @thedurianking

LOL! 22pounds can be toxic!!! Too much of anything is toxic. Just because ingesting 22 pounds of something can kill you, does that make it toxic? Thinking about it, it might also kill me to eat 22 pounds of many other foods for example. Instead of repeating the same thing all trough the video for 10 min with what I personally perceive as an agressive voice is giving you very little chance of convinceing me

  • @gojiberries2 I was born in the rain forest of south america. We drank a tea made of raw cacao everyday, adults and children alike. It was an invigorating drink on a daily basis. Not addictive at all.

  • @gojiberries2 I agree with you.

  • thank you for posting this video. This video is very helpful in clarifying what is safe to eat for new raw foodists. I am 11 days into my new lifestyle and want to continue to adopt healthy habits. You are right there are many people out there promoting the use of raw cacao without any warning.

  • Sorry but U´r main man Dr.T didn't do the trick.

For example green tea is a stimulant and so is ginseng....doesn't make them bad for you do they?

  • DO NOT listen to this guy! I have and have witnessed many people eating cacao and other superfood with profound results.

Gabriel Cousens not recommending cacao? NOT SO!!! Only if you are diabetic.

Do a YouTube search for "CultureofLifeTV Cacao" and watch Gabriel talk about cacao.

  • Comment removed

  • David Favor explains the need for full fermentation of cacao and the difference it makes, very well. Do a search and check out what he's got to say.

  • Cacao is healthy if taken in the proper form. The kuna indians of Panama have about 4 cups a day of a cacao drink, and have great health. Cacao needs to be fully fermented (about 6 days). The health dangers attributed to cacao are really only that of unfermented or not fully fermented cacao. A long fermentation process transforms cacao into a much healthier form. I couldn't handle unfermented cacao, but have been on fully fermented for 2 years, and feeling healthier than ever.

  • A big diary company lies trying to buy candy chocolate mixed with pasteurized and homogenized milk rather than raw chocolate being ingested by natives of south american indian with no health problems.

  • This guy isn't saying anything. He just says it's not healthy over and over and over for 9 minutes. What a headache.

Finally at the end it lists some information (which looks pretty subjective... a psychoactive.... hm, and who said that's a bad thing?)

If you want to make a good video, talk about the science. Don't just blab alarmism

  • raw qacao in its natural state is not toxic... it is whole message food, which the body truly loves, especially the heart and brain. it is truly difficult to obtain qacao in its true natural state ie with the fruit and bean... but if you can, i believe that you would love the benefits of this magical food.

  • @WithWings2222 Does Hippocreates Health Institute have research on this theme?

  • raw qacao in its natural form (ie the fruit and bean) provides the whole message to the body, anything less, ie raw powder, etc is preferred not to be taken. there is an amazing alchemical energy when whole raw qacao is eaten. look at the doctrine of signatures, and decide for yourself. The message in this video is not clear as to why the true raw qacao is not healthy...

  • well is regular chocoate also unhealthy ???

  • Pffft

  • If chocolate kills me.. raw or roasted. SO BE IT. I will accept that!

  • cold pressed cacao like in Xocai, is the best and only way that it will really benefit you. Xocai has helped so many people and it is very good, check out my profile Heather Kemp

  • So, if you are addicted to chocolate, which is the lesser of the two evils, raw chocolate or commercial chocolate?

  • Why David Wolfe recommends it?

  • i believe David understands the spiritual aspects of raw qacao, plus why the mayans revered it so much. there are many wonderful minerals and anti oxidants in raw qacao....

  • I was able to get off high blood pressure medication and lose a lot of weight and all I did was start taking raw cacao daily. I have never felt better in my life. You cannot overdose on it, superfoods don't work that way. True addictive foods requires you to take more (like processed choc), and you feel bad when you don't get your fix . It doesn't work that way with raw cacao.

  • Comment removed

  • i totally agree, people do some reseach on how cacao is made there is no way that it can be raw.

  • I thought raw cacao had 80 minerals ??

  • It is one of the richest sources of minerals. Best food ever!

  • I had adrenal burnout from taking 1 tablespoon a day in a smoothie...

my urine was really dark. The day after I stopped raw cacao my urine turned back to normal

  • i love raw chocolate

  • wait so this guy is against raw food? So is sushi bad?

  • You could just say "eat raw cacao sparingly. Do not make a habit of it or eat everyday" instead of all this madness. It's not that bad. You can drink too much water and die too- oh and that will increase urine as well. I think anything that is a stimulant should be used sparingly if at all but there's no need for all of this.

  • You know - raw food has taught me that science is not always true, also, and that sometimes poisons are good for your health if used the right way - alcohol for medicine - even tobacco is medicine in a way. It shortens your life, so there's a trade-off, but health can be measured in lots of ways.

  • Gabriel Cousens says cacao good - and he's a pretty smart guy, and against lots of foods popular with other experts - like anything with sugar, garlic, or onions! I'm eating the cacao, and loving it.

  • Hey Paul are you from Brooklyn? I detect the accent....

  • i gave up cacao, makes u thin n sick.

  • Cacao is a stimulant ..bottomline. I was eating it and experienced symptoms of a racing heart, irregular heartbeat, etc.

  • #2

I know that cocoa contains considerable amounts of oxalic acid, wich inhibits iron absorbtion, which is the reason why I wasnt planning to regularly eat greater quantities of the stuff.

haven't ordered again since I havent found a solution to buy for good price AND with enough shelf life.

  • I have eaten handsfull of raw cocoa nibs b/c I ordered 1 kilograms of it for economy and then it said "use up within 2 months" lol, so i ate almost every day, but didnt remember everyday to eat it before it spoils - where's the addiction?

I sometimes eat nonraw chocolate with 99% cocoa, though it seems more acidic than raw stuff and less tasty.

I didn't feel any stimulating effects, while I did if I drank a cup black tea - strongly.

I think the superfoods hype is all BS, though.

  • So what the hell can we eat?????? I'm tired of this. I try to learn and spend hours and days learning on the internet from "experts" who say that everything is bad and the things they say are good are contradicted by other "experts". See what Mike Adams says about Cacao. See what they say about Xylitol, about Soy, about milk, about everything. They drive you crazy. To hell with all these "experts", they all live on our ignorance by saying whatever thing they hear around.

  • Try using kinesiology yourself or find a doctor or chiropractor who has a degree in applied kinesiology. This is a great way to find out what is actually good for your individual system. Your frustration with "experts" is a step in the right direction if you ask me. They are just explaining their own point of view after all.

  • Thank you Paul. I agree, you know our creator did not place cacao trees for the worlds populations health, if this were the case, cacao would be everywhere naturally and it is not. True superfoods, berries fruit and greens and vegetables do grow naturally everywhere though. Also the ancients ate the fruit of the cacao not the seed and no other wild creature will touch it. When you are in touch with your connection to the earth , and creator you know in your heart this is the case

  • good work, as a diabetic trying the live food thing, i have seen my blood sugar get better. the green juices work. doing it solo is hard, with misinformation it's harder, the straight and narrow is the way to go, i am sure raw cacoa will not benefit me.

  • @1dsunhope raw cacoa has no sugar, and lots of vital minerals lots of people are suffering of deficiency.

  • i think this video is very imbalanced and misleading. Of course cacao does not work for everyone, but neither do a lot of foods. You never address the science in favor of cacao either and you insinuate theobromine and caffeine are drugs. Yes, isolated they probably are, but in the cacao. Yerba mate also has the same compounds. Bottom line. What is one mans food is another's poison. Painting broad brushes and being calling cacao crackcacao is not constructive.

  • @bestofwellness I don't...I read that Chocolate was toxic years ago.

I also never believed it was a superfood and suspected this was marketing hype. However, I was duped and went back to thinking a little would be o.k. I was always questioning in the back of my mind. Dr. T knows what he is speaking about. I just sense that Chocolate isn't healthy. It is in my knower. I am eating carob instead.

  • @bestofwellness I agree. There are far too many subtleties to the way foods work with the human body and to top it off everybody assimilates nutrients differently. Any smart professional would probably try to steer away from such broad over-generalizations. I wouldn't necessarily promote Cacao as a super food either but as an additive for a bit of a pick me up I think that it's great. Not everyone that eats chocolate is suddenly addicted to it just because they like to have it sometimes.

  • @bestofwellness You must be a Coffee drinker or entranced by the addictive effects from Cacao. Paul mentions several leading Raw Expert Educators who agree with him and I have also read some of their books and seen their advice too. How is caffeine not a drug? Most regular coffee drinkers who try to stop, go through withdrawals. The science has already proven that. Herbs and Coffee are different

  • @JulieTiger4u small amounts of cacao are toxic. So a little toxicity to your body is ok with you, but a lot is not?

  • @ JulieTiger4u Asian culture eats "fermented" soy, unlike Americans who consume A LOT of soy protein isolate, soy milk, protein powders all junk food and byproducts from the agriculture livestock industry. Most U.S. soy must be heated at very high temps. Naturopaths sell cold processed soy protein powder but it's expensive from a small manufacturer. 90% of soy today is owned by Monsanto and GMO!!! so buy organic and fermented only. visit Dr. mercola's site and type "soy myths" in search box.

  • chocolate is food for the soul - stop listening to people who are biased and start listening to what your body tells you.

  • ok let your soul decide through the senses of your body. Take 50g and chew it up slowly. Let your body tell you if its good for you or if its not.

i think that opioids and valium is food for my soul.

  • @cacaolover People are so ignorant out there. I read that chocolate was toxic many years ago in a book. It was listed with other toxic foods. This is a commerical scam. People are so easily duped. Paul Nison is a wise man!

  • @cacaolover that is, if you know what you're body is telling you, most people can't distinguish between an addiction and the body asking for nourishment

  • @cacaolover yer! my body tells me to do cocaine so lets stop listening to people, lets do what feels good....right on! Got any Smack?

  • We have known for well over 50 years that cacao has caffeine and theobromine in it. Why are you acting like this is some cutting edge news and some new cutting edge research?

  • Debbie,

Everyone has an opinion, I'm not going to waste my time here but anyone who know anything about health would not promote Chocolate as a super food!!!

  • Oh and as for that dr clement, i think everyone knows that hes about as RAW as a baked potatoe. Apparently its well known in raw circles. He also discourages raw chocolate but at the same time eats cooked food. A lot of logic there then - dont eat raw cocoa because its toxic but i'll just have my cooked food that is also toxic too. Great.

  • The same thing with dr gabriel cousins, he did a video 'healing or reversing diabetes in 30 days', maybe i hallucinated when i was watching it (from the chocolate of course) but i could swear they were making raw chocolate cakes. Strange that this amazing DR would try to heal people from diabetes using chocolate and having great success too AND would then go on to say it bad for you. People if you dont believe me check out dr gabriel cousins video on reversing diabetes in 30 days.

  • Paul, you mention dr t and his anti-chocolate stance, yet what you wont tell people is that THE SAME dr t also debunks your whole lecture on raw food and enzymes. You mention that one of the main reason you went raw was for food enzymes yet this same dr t says that the raw food diet and enzyme link is rubbish. People if you dont believe me check out dr t's videos on enzymes and on the raw food diet.

  • also many people are allergic to it since they have eaten it everyday of their life, cooked or raw, not just allergic to milk and sugar, but allergic to the actual chocolate.

  • I eat about one chocolate bar per week. Addictive? Well, I guess, but not for me. I'm not dead, yet so...

  • just google 'carob theobromine' , and look for theobromine on wikipedia and it says carob has it ?? but yes, either way, chocolate is poison, carob is perfectly safe i agree

  • carob contains theobromine though, so it cant be the theobromine maikng people sick

  • Carob does not have theobromine

  • paul nison is hypocrite though. He says people who eat store bought regular chocolate dont get the toxic effects, yet then paul nison says most raw chocoaltes isnt raw, it has been heated . therefore people eating 'raw chocolate' would not get the toxic effects either ? makes no sense.

  • Either way Cacao is not healthy and for sure not a super food.

  • @thedurianking

what makes it toxic? what are the toxins in it? elaborate? justify, explain at least! How do you feel about coffee?

I love theobromine aka food of the gods Theo=god=, bromine=ambrosia

cod liver oil is filled with vitamin D, and My body is stacked with vitamin b-12 and I couldn't say what my source for it...

ps coca leaves are very healthy to chew on btw. It as nothing to do with the drug cocaine which is more potent by factors of thousands.

  • @thedurianking

oh yeah, is green tea toxic as well in your opinion?

  • @thedurianking

oh I also forgot about red wine, should it not be ingested at all to? :)

  • Raw chocolate is wonderful for those who sell it.

I have been addicted to store chocolate since childhood and managed to quit it.

RAW chocolate gives me incredible heart-beats and insomnia which I normally don't EVER have. I really got frightened in one night of moderate raw cacao consume. NO SLEEP, the whole night pumped up like hight sitting in the living room with my heart pumping like crazy. I did no want to believe it but after that night I am done with the stuff.

  • I've always wondered why if I eat raw chocolate, I get a headache the next day.

  • I'm totally addicted to chocolate. I'm going to ignore this new info for as long as I can. I'll be so happy with myself if I can just switch to 100% raw "crack-coa". Paul you are the best! If someone has to have a sweetener (and I do) what do you recommend? Is Agave okay in small doses?

  • its obviously addictive, as can be seen by the many people addicted to regualr store chocolate

  • paul nison looks better with longer hair. check his website pictures.

  • If it is so bad for you then how did the Maya and Aztec cultures get away with consuming so much of it? And the scroll of reasons why it is unhealthy at the end is ridiculous, 22 lbs of just about anything will kill you. You can die from drinking a gallon of water too fast. Why don't you spend more time discouraging people from consuming much more dangerous products, like Pepsi?

  • You folks have no idea about chocolate. Expand your conscious. Wake up! Sorry, but I felt I had to say this. You belive that you´re right but I belive you have no idea what you`re talking about. Sorry, isn`t meant personally.

Shamans perspective on nutrition is very different then the western science understanding.

  • i see it from the ayurvedic perspective that we all have our own constitution and its better to avoid some type of nutrition. But even than sometimes a cup of chocolate milk raw or warm wont harm that much.

Consuming 25 grams of cacao per day is not good i believe.

  • Thank you for all the solid information. I never got started on cacao and now I won't for sure. The theobromine scared me off. Thanks for speaking up! I have been 100% raw for 9 years and I love it. Paul Nison is one of my trusted guides.

  • i tried cacao nibs and my insomnia got worse and my kidnies were hurting so i decided they are a once in a blue moon food and not in the amount i ate to get hurting kidnies... i decided this all on my own without hearing about cacao being bad for me. =^-^=

  • Raw cacao makes me cry (not ina good way), and shake. I have no idea how people like Matt Monarch an ontinue to sell it if they profess to are about peoples health - it's just greed.

  • I just wanted to mention that I love all the amazing raw chocolate creators who put a lot of love into their products despite the truth behind raw cacao. They are beautiful souls...luv u:)

What we know as truth today will most likely be obselete tomorrow. Discovery is our mission here on earth....as we continue to learn more about raw foods we will discover more things.

Consider everything in moderation. Focus on being a balanced being and all will work out for you:) Luv & Blessings 2 u!
