  • @Beeny295 - How much time do you spend just hanging out with your horse? Or doing something fun and relaxing that your horse doesn't consider to be "work"? Do you do the kind of groundwork that's shown in this video? The horse has to want to be around you with respect but no fear.

  • Great job. Well done !!!!!!!!

  • how am i supposed to remember all this when i go to the barn!!!?

  • @horsejw4ever watch it on ur phone?

  • great work :D

  • Wish my horse would stand like that and let me walk upto him :/ He see's me, walking forward then stands for a bit then goes weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee and runs away :L silly horsey, he comes running though if I rattle a bit of feed in a bucket! how can I get him to come to me without the food or at the very least let me walk to him :/

  • @Beeny295 you could try to make a round up that always helps me

  • Very nice :-)

  • the problem with this video is there is a dislike button , this is great !!!

  • The cat in front of is suuuper!!!

  • Great Job!

  • I love the music, someone can tell me what is the name of these songs please ? :)

  • What a terrific example!!! Thank you for posting!

  • if you want that the horse come back to you, by the Yoyo-game, not so furious please! your horse scares a bit.

But generally well done! Lookes good!

  • He didin't tie the halter right. Its supposed to be pointing down. Not extremely important but i did notice it. Pat likes to enforce those little things tho

  • Amazing work. :)

  • Nice job on your horse! Good video!

  • Touching the horse with such a whip all the time doesn't look very natural to me.

  • @KathyTheGhost

its just showing the horse that there is nothing to be afraid of

  • @KathyTheGhost hes desensatising it dont you no anything?

  • good music and great horsemanship! thanks for sharing!

  • Could you give a step by step guide as some things werent very clear in the video.

  • I understand its natural horsemanship but, why is it taking forever to do the easiest thing?

  • @Xxhorses4evax Because antoinette, my bff some horses take longer to learn than others

and u it is VERY hard work!

  • i agree with rubyrose13 i have a verrrrrry lazy paint and i have to litteraly womp on her sometimes but if i have a crop i simply show it to her or wave it where she can see it and shes all good i think ive only hit her with it once and it was a complete accident

  • very nice videos & techniques. At a recent natural horsemanship clinic I attended, a swishing tail is a sign of resistance. The clinician mentioned that a maneuver should be repeated until the tail no longer swishes. What do you think about this?

  • con questo cavallo morto di sonno ok...

prova a fare lo stesso con un puledro con un po' di sangue...

  • Excellent video and love the music too! Thank you for uploading! Can't wait to watch the rest.

  • I love the cat (: Barn Cats are the bestt :)

  • i love how there is a fricken cat rolling around in front of him lol

  • I still cant help but lol at this poor weak bastard. He needs to be taught how to properly whip a horse. PUT YOUR BACK INTO IT BRO!!

  • nice cat :)

  • Gotta love that kitty rolling around.

  • read outside of a horse its a great book and in it they do parelli

  • Well this is easy for some but when you have a pony that wont let your near his bum without rearing or kicking its kinda hard, Someday I hope he'll trust me, I would never hit him or anything but he don't understand.. Any advice? Please & Thank You

  • @JohnnyO375 Parelli actually works well with these problems of communication & trust. Think about checking it out!

  • My horse is trained in parelli too.i use always parelli.anything else is mistreating...:)

  • @OLDBOLLYWOODISGOLD Really? Monty Roberts mistreats horses?

  • @OLDBOLLYWOODISGOLD oh please, that is the height of ignorance. there are many 'natural' ways to train horses and gain there trust without spending all your life savings. parelli's methods are good but he just seems like a gold digger. if someone actually cared and loved the animal they would provide there training techniques to as many people as possible (cesar millan for example) not just the select ones who could afford all the propaganda and merchandise which comes with parelli

  • @Rainbaby27 yes, maybe...but before i discovered parelli i was trained in the english style. and this horses were totally crazy there. and then i started with parelli and this horses were brave like lambs:)

  • @OLDBOLLYWOODISGOLD

sorry for the rude comment, it was not necessary for me to be so abrasive, glad you found a better way than the 'traditional' methods and happy it works for you and your horse.

  • @Rainbaby27 thank you:D i really didnt meant it bad:D

  • @Rainbaby27 cesar milan is a gold digger - are you kidding - he has a show so that he can sell his training to people who can AFFORD is training fees.. plus - its a TV show not reality..

  • Wow what a gorgeous animal. Incredible colouring. I am intrigued by horses with pretty colours. I have a palomino and a little dappled grey. Not to say I am racist against less flashy colours. I also have an almost black liver chesnut and have owned a bay. But great work. My palo is shy of everything and after much work on the ground and in the saddle he finally trusts and respects me. I have a Parelli book and I have started this on both of them.

  • i got a horse for my birthday and shes a trigger happy 3/4 arabian and 1/4 stock horse so i had some difficulties but i took her to a horsemanship class and it has helped more than i thought, it has tought her respect for me and me respect for her. horsemanship classes were worth the money !!

  • I am new to horses, I have been surfing youtube and even been to pat's website, can these techniques be done with draft horses? more specfically Clydesdales? which dvd do I get first? the getting started dvd or the Level one and 2 kit?

  • @billyboby28I know these techniques can be used on all horses.I am using it on my built-like-a-tank quarter horse.I can't answer about the dvds though,I am going by his book "Natural Horse*Man*Ship".It is a Western Horseman book.So far most of it is working.I am against the thought of his "carrot stick" and although I carry one when jumping my trained horse,I don't actually use it on either horse or even carry it on the horse I am training.

  • @bookgurl96 I think you're confusing the carrot stick with a whip my friend. A carrot stick is made of fiberglass and would be ridiculous to carry while riding. It is supposed to be used an extension of your arm rather than a punishment type piece of equipment such as a whip or crop. I too do not use the carrot stick much because I prefer hands on but its important for you and your horse to be well versed in it so it never becomes a thing of threat.

  • VERY well done - Bravo !!

  • if this is level one then i have already passed :)

  • Is this based on Pat Parelli methods?

  • bel video!!!! complimenti

  • @SaddleClub200 :: A real natural horsemanship trainer NEVER calls it "breaks" ,and just because your horse has been taught to bow and ' go around and around" ( if that is true ) Does not mean you are better than anyone else who trains. You should be more polite = this gentleman ovbviously has put in a great deal of work and the results are amazing! His horse listens to him and trusts him , thats WAY more important and harder to accomplish than a 'trick' like teaching a horse to bow

  • @SaddleClub200 that was a very disrespectful comment. this persons pupose here was not to "break" the horse. dont put other people down to make yourself feel better. and then to add insult to injury you called his music "old fartie". really? come on, how old are you, 5?

  • @SaddleClub200 first of all Its not breaking you idiot, its called natural horsemanship, second "old fartie" seriosly? how old are you like five!? third of all, i dont think you know how to make your horse go round and round and bow! -.-!

  • wow, how did you tought him the "no" sign thing!!!??

  • Great work

  • great work :)

  • Comment removed

  • i've got a new horse coming soon, how could i get him to do this?

    as he is already fifteen.

    great work! :)

  • The cat really put on a performance for the camera. Nice horse too.

  • That's Like Exactly What My Horse Looks Like (:

  • great work!

  • Thank You for your video!

  • This video is a great demo on how to do things at lvl 1 and what it should look like good job

And for all of u that dont get it or thought it was boring u just dont understand so i will break it down for u.. PNH is about communication, love and trust and getting a response to the slightest suggestion. the carrot stick is not designed for punishment its designed for communication. i ask u this how many of u can touch a horse as soft as a fly or just look at it and the horse knows what u want

  • @deianna07 i agree with you it's kind of annoying in some ways wen people miss the point, and even tho it might appear to be a slow moving film its actually quite amazing if you understand how he's doing it and with so much ease. i really want a horse to learn myself how to do this. at least theres 1 sensible person thats commented on this site lol thanks

  • How do you build to this with a new horse a mare

  • lol. i love the cat at the bottom! :))

  • Awesome video! Iove it sooooooo much!

  • Excellent vid - well done you two :0)

  • ich love you man ... why can´t there be more peole like you?

  • u have the same head collar and lead rope as my horse exept my head collar has metal rings

  • such a cute horse :) i can tell its really friendly ^^

  • hehe well done

  • Parelli Natural Horsemanship.... human being!??? off limit - control - positive or negative?

  • great elevator music ;)

  • so lurnful ore something.

    I gonna do that too!

i want such a good bond whit my horsee

  • Yeah, the cat is great! LOL!

  • Thanks for your video. Very clear, practical. And very nice music.

  • This made me smile

  • Very clear, and helpful

  • wow really really great job and wonderful horse!

  • wow i think your horse is amazing! this video is a little bit to long but your horse is great and your partnership is wonderful! good job!

  • Good video, I liked, but I muted it because I thought the music was gay. Sorry.

  • Nice to view.

  • Why is he rubbing the whip all over the horse's body?

  • @zaranclaire1920 It called "Desensitizing" It is where you teach them not to be afraid of objects like that. You also can do it with bells, clanging stuff, and garbage sacks, and you also do that to desensitize them from wearing the saddle and bridle.

  • i cant watch part 2 because of the music (?) (that Sony music problem)

Watching yor video gave me some good ideas for todays training (my horse can't be ridden so I love getting ideas for work from the ground^^)

    thanks!

  • Oops, HE.

  • Zohari really responds well to light cues (to the person who said he wasn't beating her hard enough, the sign of a well-trained horse is one that responds to light stimulus. Whipping without regard to proper release doesn't train a horse, and can result in a wreck). Sure there are other ways to train a horse to do what you want, but Parelli works, so what's wrong with that? She seems relaxed, attentive, quick to respond, respects your space and watches you closely. What's not to love?

  • What a beautiful horse - nice confirmation. Very well executed. Fantastic job - you should be proud!

  • @ATOMICPINK69 wow I cant wait til the day a horse tramples you to death

  • @ATOMICPINK69 he does NOT try to whip the horse! He lets the whip's end touch the horse to show that it absolutely trusts him and that he can't have used the whip for any punishment before. Whipping is for weak, wicked people.

Please never come near a horse or else I must agree with VickyVanity....

  • @Angelxxxofxxxdawn PS like the comment and it is called desensitizing, where you teach them not to be afraid of the object ;)

  • @Angelxxxofxxxdawn Good comment Angelxxxofxxxdawn! & Yeah, the orange "carrot" whip, is just an extension of your arm.

  • Comment removed

  • @TheRubyRose13 No that is not weakness. but that comment above was talking about HITTING the horses with the whips brutally. Actual whipping.

  • @ATOMICPINK69 Apparently you know nothing of the correct horse world. I think you are weak for assuming you have to be so violent with such an intelligent creature in order to get them to respond to you. Johnstefan is 10x stronger the man you'll ever be BOY, because he has the patience to try and understand his partner and work with how his horse communicates. Not dominate him. I would like to see you whip my Arab, she would bitch slap you to hell and back. Go educate yourself sweetheart.

  • @ATOMICPINK69 Horses are living breathing creatures with thoughts and feelings. Parelli and Natural Horsemanship was made by the people who actually give a SHIT about that. YOU obviously don't, And you're calling this man weak, if you need a whip to train your horse, when this man could train a horse with his bare hands (He wasn't even TRYING to whip the horse) So, who is the REAL weak one here?

  • @ATOMICPINK69 are you serious or did you just post that to piss people off, I hope the latter If you want to feel some serious whipping come see me and I can show you, you stand while I whip you, then you see how much you have learned...does it work to control a horse? NO the horse will only lash more you whip more the horse freaks out more you whip more and forever this stupid redneck circle goes on, whipping is pointless and if you had any brain at all you would see he isn't whipping the horse

  • Comment removed

  • @Bazieltje2006 are you replying to my because I know that already I do parelli with my horse, so don't go coaching me on it, I was replying to another commenter who said that the guy was so weak he couldn't even whip that horse, so think before you speak

  • @ATOMICPINK69 You're a fag, this video is amazing, and I really hope you DO get trampled by a horse.

  • Thats so amazing ! My horse can almost do all of that, im also on level one. . . . Hope all goes well for u! Gook Luck! ♥

  • Hi - could you tell me is this absolutely from scratch or was Zohari already halter trained etc.? I am just about to start learning Parelli with my colt - a very in your face pony with no fear whatsoever. You can see him on my channel and I am in awe at what you are managing - hence my question could really be "how long had you worked with Zohari prior to the video - Many Thanks - Stuart (Scotland - scottishrarebreeds)

  • wow O.O. your horse really trusts you and anyone who insults you on your...performance obviously doesnt understand that

  • what a beautiful horse!

  • hey, well done! its not easy to do all this stuff with horses!

i went to see parelli on saturday in sydney and he was amazing! i left after spending $500 on tools and dvds and everything! i cant wait to start doing some of this stuff with my horse, you have inspired me that it is possible to do this stuff rather than gettting home and its really hard!

    well done!!

  • @milatie33 You just illustrated the key point of why most people hate it. You spent $500 on tools and DVDs. If it's so 'natural', you shouldn't have to. I love natural horsemanship, and am learning about it from so many talented friends who are doing amazing things with their horses. But they're teaching me from free, and the equipment I use isn't ridiculously marked up.

  • @ChorChar agreed. I'm learning with a friend too, though she's more into Klaus's style. Anywhoo, all I needed was somethin that could work as a halter, a long rope and some grass or snacks or anything else you can use as reward. Actually my stallion likes huggs as reward and my mare likes chest scratching so it doesn't matter. A stick u can get a twig from a tree and for everythin else you can just improvise with the environment.

And to tell u the truth, the best teacher is really the horse!

  • @DJBelbe very true! You can achieve the same results with simple good training, and to be honest, I have only seen a few people who have really achieved something close to what Parelli has.

  • @milatie33 By the way, I'm sorry if that came out harsh, I do realise that people do amazing things with Parelli, this video is great, I just feel that the cost of it is ridiculous- the carrot stick, for example costs over $80 in NZ, and I mean... it's a stick. You know?

  • @ChorChar Wow You should move to florida carrot sticks cost around $20-$35 depending on witch store You end up in.

  • @chaos0691 Haha somehow I don't think getting a cheaper carrot stick would justify moving to Florida :) But $35 American dollars would be nearly $70 NZD anyway :)

  • what a great thing to know what the

    it was amazion

  • pretty sure this is level one so this is just a starting thing. of course the flashy stuff comes later u cant just expect to teach a horse that straight away. keep in mind that this program has a big part in helping horses with problems. sure your going to think this is boring if you have a push button pony but for the people that dont just getting your horse to back up on command is a great achievment. if you have a problem with it i dont see why youd watch it.

  • the horse looks like its getting peed off to me. At first fine but then the ears go back and pretty much stay back from what i can see. i wouldnt like to be being shoved around either to be honest. The only parelli excercise i actually think is a very good idea is the imprinting/desensitising one that is done at the begining of this video.

  • i also love the little cat it is cute :P

  • i also love the little cat it is vute :P

  • i really liked this video!

i wish i could get my horse to learn how to do this

it would be easier to work with him

oh btw ur horse is really pretty!

  • I only watched to task 3 'cause, that was super boring. But how is any of this revolutionary? Anyone who's got any knowledge of horses knows that the horse should back up when you walk towards it, it should put its head down when you apply pressure to the poll, it should turn when you push its shoulders, etc. That's...not impressive at all. Granted, maybe the impressive stuff comes later, 'cause I can't be bothered to watch this all, but I fail to see anything amazing so far.

  • Comment removed

  • @TheGoddessofJudecca Natural horsemanship is not only about being impressive

it is about forming a bond between horse and rider so strong that the horse will do anything for the rider and vise versa, it is a way to train and ride that has no need for agressiveness. saying that you only want to see the showy stuff means that you are missing the point of all this.

  • @msilken Way to completely misunderstand everything. I was making the point that, despite all the hype about how amazing this stuff is, I see nothing even remotely revolutionary. As I said previously, anyone who's got any knowledge of horses and any horse that's mannerly can do all this. This isn't a training method, this is just common communication. All horses should have this kind of interaction always - although less boring - and those owned by decent horsepeople do. Nothing special. At all.

  • i'm definetly going to try this with my horse !! good job ; )

  • Very beautiful work and happy horse!! :) I like.

  • good work, but one thing i saw, was during the yo-yo game you pulled the horse in quite quickly, applying pressure with the halter, the point of that game though is to get the horse to come in without any pressure of the rope, only you "bowing".... other than that, good job

  • I would like to know how haltering that horse "parelli style" was any different?

  • hey,

your horses head is down! great sign!!!

  • I will be training my arab using natural horsemanship... so very useful video.

Typical cat lol... they just have to be the centre of attention!

  • Very good work!! I am always expecting my horse to move backward faster during the yo yo game but maybe I am being to critical. You did an awesome job!

  • Good Parelli Work!!

  • skinny dudes n shaved heads, bad combo...Good work with the Sacred Dog...

  • I've done some round pen work and some of this, and the key is repetition and patience!!

  • i love the little tubby grey kitty down the bottom haha

  • @HayleyW092 That was all I could look at xD

  • Not to disminish the great performance-love that fat cat

  • lol....nice video...and the cat!! lol

  • cat funny cat video he reall yis trying to deep that horses attention cute

  • Ya and this is different from good horsemanship how?? Oh ya the price you pay for all the hype you buy. Sorry I forgot about that.

Good job with the horse. You could have saved some money and used a halter lead/lung line and regulare lunge whip though. Keep on working. That is the improtant part.

  • i can do this im awsome i will put a video on good job!

  • Amazing work !!!

my horse needs to be taught this :)

good job, mates it look sooo simple!:)

    Xx

  • Hey guys! Do you know what songs are played in the video? I love the songs, I just can't figure out how they are called...

  • Moby - Sunday

  • the for- and backhand driving is really good! nice job!

  • Im going to be starting Parelli with my sister's and i 12yo Mare, my sister became pregnant and since hasn't been able to work with her so i am to her rescue. I not capable at riding at the level she needs but it'll get their with some hard work :)

  • Also starting Parelli with my 6yr old Thoroughbred/quater horse. She was neglected and is doing awesome!

  • Im starting Parelli on my 7yr old 17.3hh Standardbred Gelding. I have just broken him in and i think it will do him good!

  • BAAHAHA i love the kitty rolling around in the grass

  • omg me too X3

  • my horse wouldn't stand still if there was a cat near her

  • can this be done on any horse?

  • Ofcourse ;)

  • yes

  • Hahah, I just have to say... the cat rolling around at the beginning is absolutely adorable!

    And I love Parelli,

I use it one my horses too.

    Really good video ;)

  • pod.pozd.

  • bravo, well done. I am also a Parelli student. LOVE IT.

  • aww nice cat...lolz, love the vid, i do parrelli

  • Nice work. We try to educate ourselfs in NH training for our jump and dressage horses.

    //Kalle

  • we do to! hehe

  • The carrot stick is used as an extension of your hand.

  • how long had this horse been doing it for or is this his first time?

  • It takes about 3 months of consistent training to achieve this level of training or more.

  • One of the main purposes of Natural Horsemanship is to develop your horse into an easy going one. No horse will do all of these tasks for you straight away. The process of achieving these tasks gets your horse (and the human) to think more and act like a willing partner.

  • Outstanding job! Beautiful horse and video for us to see how it is done!
