Thank you for uploading this video Islandjerry. Wonderful documentation and very informative. Blessings to you and all!...By the way, i was there when we had our Bivouac training for our senior yr. in HS (76) and i know much has changed since then. I believe in 77 or 78 we went there via hovercraft ferry and i believe those aren't available now. I'm based in the U.S. but visit Manila each year. Thanks again!
thanx for the video it always reminds me the courage and brave filipino and american soldier a and always proud to be a filipino and i salute the american soldier for thier aid to defeat the japaess empire...
My father was a surivor of this ordeal and atrocity. He escaped and was lucky not to be shot as was the fate of his fellow runaway. My mother was also a survior of the Japanase occupation. They both did not reveal much of what they endured. I lost my oldest brother during that time and I do not know anything about it. My mom did say that the Japanese soldiers that she knew were from Korea and knew the end was near. She said that she could smell them when they approached the village.
Thank you Jerry. Your video keeps my fathers memory alive and I get chills when I see it. It brings me closer to him. Being a filipino my age(56) who had a parent in the US Armed services during that time. I never realized growing up how that affected me but it still does to this day.I always have been and always sill be a true filipino. Thanks again!!!
Thanks paladin44302. For the most part the tunnel system is intact, there are a few areas that are some lateral bays that are in need of repair but the main tunnel is just fine..
Great video and editing. Very few Filipino books would speak of corrigedor, especially its defeat. The recapture was only possible because Japs forces weakened after three years of Geuerilla harassment and lack of food.
My family & I just got back from day-long tour. It was both exciting and sad to see the a place where history was made. Your video was a great representation of the area.
Another excellent contribution to YouTube. This video brings to mind the bonding of the Republic of the Philippines and the US, one of the longest and strongest alliances in American history, as well as that of the developing democracy of the Philippines. Truly inspirational.

Thank you for taking the time to put this together Jerry. I often feel that the war in the Pacific is not given the historical attention it deserves.

Thanks for the comments. Corregidor is a place everyone should visit to get a feeling of the destruction of war.
