Interesting that Bec implies in the interview that she doesn't get any thoughts on writing music about motherhood / having children. To me this tune is so strongly stamped "lullaby"
I thought the guy interviewing was certainly a bit of a jerk and had lots of innuendo (not so subtle) about being a woman, having children and subsequently giving up the career (as that is what woman do - my interpretation of his innuendo).
Regardless, Bec has buckets of talent and will no doubt rise again.
@kochougakure It was recorded by Kaori Mochida on her album Moka. Listening to it now... Only the chorus is in english.... and bic's voice is much much nicer IMHO
Bic is freakishly good. Her first album was great and I was hoping the second would be even half as good but it was even better. I thought there is no way Birds could be as good but that is my all time favourite album ever. I just don't get how she just keeps getting better end better. This song was fantastic.
On another note, that has to be the best intro to a TV show ever, fantatsic
where can i get the lyrics of this song pls?....loving it much!

Her music has got more intimate and complex over time. This one haunts me.
I'm with Lucky above - some of my favourite bands just do metronomes and standards, but are so solid.

Very catchy! :D
I agree with an earlier comment. The piano might be better with a different melodic line.

..and the band is sooo good

The band is so good? Not to knock on them, but that wasn't anything special. It was a nice song, though.

they are a solid band.. i have a thing for bands that play modestly and never drop a beat

Beautiful!! I can't wait for the new album!

my only critique is that I wish the piano part wasn't the exact melodic line as her singing. Other than that, it was beautiful as always.

I think it's also the harp.

I personally think it makes the song that much more beautiful. It adds a great dimension to the song by echoing her vocal melody.
Absolutely brilliant track. Can't wait to hear what her next record will be like.

She has never ceased to amaze me. Indeed, Birds is hands down my favorite album of all time. Let's hope the next will be a contender.
