  • I that Aretha Franklin at 5:23?

  • Jazzland Park is coming back

  • i bet if the people who owned it before and when it was called jazzland they would have reopend it but then six flags took it over then it flooded and six flags abandoned it!

  • That's to bad but that is one freaky ride! I thought it would just be shooting at targets in mardi gras scenes. Why do dark rides have to be "haunted"?

  • Wow, thank you for sharing this video. I'm from La, but I never went to Six Flags. I love that you actually showed us the ride as if we were on it. It's so crazy to see it once full of life and now it's so desolate and creepy.

  • that new company might bring this ride back to life.

  • it's funny i'm french, and didn't know you were saying mardi gras in french xD

  • I remember going to Jazzland with my parents and sister in 2001. I was eight at the time, and it is one of my happiest memories of my life. It nearly brings me to tears that this place, even though it was changed to Six Flags, is gone. This ride amazed me even though I didn't get to ride it. Thanks a ton for the video upload!

  • @JoaquinandRene Its not near the "Ocean" its near several other bodies of water.but you ask why?because the entire city of New Orleans is near some body of water whether it be a lake, river or gulf and if they wanted to build it in New orleans, then they had no choice.Thats why.

  • Is this when jazzland first opened?

  • Whenever I see tributes for this park, I always want to say to the Founder of Six Flags New Orleans " WHY IS THE PARK BUILT NEARBY THE OCEAN?!!!!"

  • @JoaquinandRene lol the whole city of new orleans is under sea level

  • @JoaquinandRene It's near the gulf and some lakes, but not the ocean. It's just under sea level so any heavy raining will cause it to hold water and flood. But the city of New Orleans was a happening place so I'm sure at the time they thought it would be a good spot for a park being they have a lot of tourists go there.

  • 5:12 coolest fountain ever.

  • Holy shit..... at 0:44 that was me and my family!!! in the front was me and my mom and in the back were my two sisters!!

    Omg, I miss jazzland.... ;------;

  • I've never been to new Orleans but that joccos mardi gras madness looked like a fun ride for the whole family

  • after being in the park after the hurricane i can vouch that it would not be hard to rebuld but i think it would make a grate horror movie set

  • @jakeblues119 the rent for the company that takes it over (the Land) is 1.4 million a year.....that is alot considering the location and the fact that there aren't many tourist locations around it.

  • My childhood is in ruins. *cries*

  • I miss this, so much. This was absolutely my favorite ride in the world until I was big enough to go on the "big kid rides" like Mega Zeph and Batman, like my brother.

  • six flags new orleans very sad place on this earth

  • we can fix Six Flags New Orleans is not too hard rebuild it

  • @lestatpop I agree, we all need to talk to the City of new Orleans, talk them OUT of tearing it down in Jan. 2011, and rebuild.

  • UUUGGGGGGHHHHH NOSTALGIAAAAAAAAAAAA

  • the ending was like ghost blasters 2

  • aw i hope that the new owners will hire you soon to convert this ride into something good like ghost blasters 2

  • Mardi Gras Madness was my favorite ride there. I had to ride it over and over while I was there. I was very sad to see another video of the entire ride building completely gutted. I really hope SOMETHING can be done with that park.

  • @Peaches70380 Ya, I read somewhere that the City of New Orleans and Six Flags are arguing over who owns the land.

  • I heard that Nickelodeon has bought Jazzland and making there own theme park out of it

  • iam miss that park so much.and now its just sitting there going to wates

  • Loved this park but man was it HOT out there lol.

  • @chany85 I remember that there wasn't much shade over there and the cement just reflected all the heat. It was SUPER hot.

  • @Peaches70380 They fixed this before the second summer by adding colored fabric over all of the walkways. If you look at overhead shots of the park post Katrina you'll see all of the covered walkways.

  • the jocco ride and the sonic boom were my favorite rides in the theme park. those rides a long with a few others were my reasons for being there.

  • damn u hurricane katrina!!! get a life!!!!

  • OMG I MISS THIS RIDE SOO MUCH, this was my favorite ride in jazz land and enw orleans.lol

  • Okay, I lived LITERALLY blocks behind Jazzland in the Oak Island subdivision, and I've never gone there once. It's sad!

  • i miss jazzland / six flaggs i cry everytime i pass the abandoned park :[ NEW ORLEANS MISSES IT SO MUCH

  • Looks like y'all did a great job on that ride SallyCorp. It's unfortunate that Six Flags decided not to rebuild. There are rumors of a new company called Southern Star possibly reopening the former SFNO property. I hope it comes true and they restore all the rides that are left. This one and the Mega Zeph look really fun.

  • i think they actually plan to expand it. when it was open, there were 20 rides, and over time, the company plans to add up to 40 more rides. but that's probably a while. i'm not so sure if they'll keep the coasters, though.

  • yeah, i heard they were expanding it for new additions, but it's too late now. the owner of six flags didn't wanna pay all that money to rebuild the park.

  • i forgot to say that it's owned by a different amusement park company now. i think it's called southern star or something like that

  • yeah. nickeloden chickened out of buying sixflags out...but if the new owners can fix it up...i hope they come out wit impressive results

  • me too. (even though i live in illinois.)

  • yeah they are. They are planned to open it with nickolodeon but they dropped out but they do still plan to open it

  • long live jazzland long live

  • What a fun, unique looking ride. Sad that it's gone.
