Hey dude, What make of ACRYLIC DRUMS are they? RCI , PORKPIE etc...
However you miced them is fucking INCREDIBLE...
Almost perfect in an imperfect world.....They sound gated but with a wide open resonance to them. Snare and kick are so clean and clear I can not get over the sound of drum w/ mic set up. Please give me all the DETAILS.....JL in NYC
lol dane cook, you look nothing like him, hey thanks for the little lesson i have bin looking for some help, im 15 and im no prodigy so i am not the best or even good. So thanks i hoope it helps
I get the Dane Cook comment all the time. I told my wife about it, and she couldn't see it. But you are definitely not the first person on here to say that I sound/look/act like him.
Nice clean drumming, although i don't think you should talk as much and play more so that people can visualise what they have to do, just a suggestion! lol, check out mike jonstons drum lessons, and take a few teachings tips from that :D
That's awesome dude! I don't think I could only play one thing per beat. I'm a guitarist though, drummer on the side a bit. My church is getting a Risen kit in March. I'm stoked! Thanks for the vid.
Totally man. This exercise can absolutely be used in alternate time signatures, which means your counting within individual measures would change accordingly. However, the idea that your MEASURES always come in sets of four will remain no matter what signature you're in. 99% of rock/pop music is composed in phrases of 4 measures, and that applies to 6/8 or 7/8 or whatever.
The opening audio is an excerpt from a track by the Bill Mike Band. BMB is a Minneapolis power trio I'm in. The song, "Secure," is from our first record, and our second record was just released last month. Check itunes for both albums.

Maybe I look like a douche because I am a douche? Just a thought.
glad you enjoy the vids, bro. thanks for your kind words. if you want to check out that kit in action, the band I play it in just put out a new record. Bill Mike Band. album's called TRUCE. it's on itunes and stuff.
ah. I think you're confusing my mood with my generally loud voice. I had a great time filming those vids... no chance I was in a bad mood. Watch all the other episodes... I bet you'll hear the same tone. It's probably more of a "serious teaching" tone.

You said they always come in grooves of 4, what about 6/8 music, that's a groove of 3.... and 7/8 music is different also

I listened to Red's album with their drummer playing Risen drums. Awesome sound. The kick is amazing.
I love these lessons, somewhat simple for the most part but very useful! Thanks dude!
