Id take the sedan over a coup any day. Its more luxurious and it has plenty of power for just getting around. If I really want to go fast, I would just get a zo6 or mod an m3. These cars aren't designed for 1/4 mile drags.
you have it wrong... the early model G35 sedan are actually lighter than the coupes and they have the same HP. the drivetrain loss of the AT is more than the MT - but in this case (as with most other races with this particular sedan) it didnt matter.
really, i c. yeah the reson i said that is because i been looking at KBB to decide weather to buy a coupe or sadan. So hard to find a MT coupe. There are 100 AT saden for sale maybe there is one MT coupe. thanks for the information, i dont know much about G35.

you might want to check your info man.. Coup weights 50lbs more than sedan! it has more metal framing. As far as HP, coup has 298 if its a 6mt and sedan has 280. I guess it is partially to do with the driver too.
both were modified very similar... the only difference was ECU re-flash. People just don't like to admit a sedan can beat a coup... people hate when an AT beats an MT... but it happens. And yes, as some have said the weight difference helps. In this race, each car had it's advantages... these cars have been pretty comparable in power for quite a while. The point of the vid being posted is to help the myth that AT sedans can't beat MT anything's (much less coupes)...
FYI sedans in the first gen are lighter than the coupe. Check the curb weight for both.
The 1.5 gen 05-06 sedans have the "rev-up" motor, which is the same one used in the coupes. So it all comes down the the driver.

true, Z06 and M3 are clearly faster... but also much more expensive. There arent many cars in the price range of the G35 that are faster.

The sedan was modified better than the coupe, the sedan was faster.
My mistake, I assumed both were unmodified.
