  • he sounds like Animal from police academy xD

  • thanks for making this video! very informative. had no idea there were different types of touchscreens. also, for those interested in lcd touchscreen technology, check out the new boogie board lcd tablet. next version with memory coming out in the fall 2011.

  • Borat? :)

  • when my finger caught static , my capacitive screen can even register touch as the static from my finger tip passers through thin air and make contact with the screen

  • thumbs up if u hate the voice of the singaporean guy talking in the vid !

  • LOL! thanks for the info

  • damn improve your pronunciation dude.. otherwise use subtitle!!!!

  • Your voice sounds winy like boo hoo

  • i like your english XD

  • so, what tablet is best for writing on the screen with ur palm resting on it at the same time? i would very much appreciate it for your response! hmmm singlish eh? :P

  • @babyowl Well, anything that uses a digitizer will be the best. I can't remember any exact model names now.. I think.. Dell's Tablet, HP's one that has a Hybrid screen, and I think Lenovo also has one with a Hybrid screen. But if you're on Singapore you can get the Asus T101MT, look at my videos to see the palm rejection in action.

  • @babyowl Be aware that with capacitive, you can wear a glove on your writing hand to prevent it from registering on screen. Capacitive stylus tip still needs to be pretty big, but there are styli with a flat transparent tip so you can be more precise now.

Still, nothing is as perfect as inductive (active) digitizer pen. It should even be possible to create an input surface which can be switched between inductive and capacitive sensing by reusing the same set of in-glass antennas. Hummm....

  • Resistive FTW!

  • i think the resistive touch screen feels kind of cheesy but it seems to work better at a lot of things. but the capacitive touch screen has a much more solid feel and is more satisfying. my phone has a resistive touch screen and i can be very precise with my finger and choose what i want the first time but on my friends ipod touch, when you have to be persise, it can be a pain in the butt

  • amazing how ignorant ppl r to informative videos like this.........good work keep it up

  • hablai como la callampa

  • your voice cracked my monitor!

  • @Shmenman that's weird? I didn't got a single scratch in my monitor.....

  • Gee, you speak like Shakira =S

  • Thanks

    Nice Video

  • Thank you. I thought I was the only one who noticed the difference. Can't set your palm on the screen and write and the stylus are rejected. What kind of a writing pad is that? I guess it is not a tablet or writing pad, they are nothing pad POINT PAD, unlike real tablet PC. Thank you for explaining the difference between CAPACITIVE and RESISTIVE screens.

  • Thanks. I have an HP tx2500. Great inking experience on it. Built-in stylus, palm rejection. With Windows 7 writing recognition, it rocks.

  • That UH900 is very responsive. I am quite impressed with it. Some of the early resistive touch screen models were very slow, but that may have been more to do with processing power.

Active digitser is the way to go for a couple of reasons. Proximity and pressure sensitivity ftw.

Your video is a good example of how rediculous drawing or wiriting is without a pen.

Thank you for showing the pogo stick. Not a very good solution unfortunately. iPad users will be stuck with that.

  • yup active FTW indeed, been using Tablets since the first ones so I'm experienced with that.

too bad active digitizer models seem to be rare and expensive.

Was surprised at how badly the capacitive stylus worked. Why is it called the pogo stick?

  • Think pogo stick might be a brand name actually...

  • hahaha what a funny voice .U seems smart but sounds like a retarded drunk.

  • Wow, that must be the most unique comment I heard before, kudos to you!

  • @dsoundofmusic1215 That is Southeast Asian accent. Y'all come visit sometime (yeah, we say "y'all" here like in Texas) and you'll hear a whole town speaking the same way as Bolo Santosi from Just Cause 2. You'll blow your mind.

  • @dsoundofmusic1215 Do not make fun of anyone's voice even if the guy is a retarded drunk.

  • @dsoundofmusic1215 I so feel you there... I love the Duuuuz diiiiiiis at 7:54.

  • Damn, I was going for the Lenovo, but after this video, I am definitely getting the HP TM2 with the Wacom active digitizer. If only it came in black instead of that horrible silver-blush...

  • I think the BEST inking experience, will always be an active digitizer. A lot of guess work is still invovled with palm rejection.

  • Thank you for the video explaining the inking capabilities of the S10-3T. Although I am very disappointed to see how poor it responds for those of us interesting in the inking possibilities, it's good to see someone like you focusing on this.

The search continues for a useful, yet portable tablet solution that can accommodate inking properly.
