I must have worked on a 57, it had the same style in most ways, but had 2x4s carburators with a dual oil bath air filter, the same style used by the 57 Chevy with 2x4s. They are one of the most beautiful cars ever produced, so ahead of it's time. By the way you aren't missing anything when it comes to the air ride, at least it's up off the ground. It's hard to believe it's in such prestine condition, what a car you have.
@505197 Thank you for your kind words. Yes, the 57 Seville looks similar to the 58. It also only has single headlights and the rear bumper is different.
I guess I´m really lucky to have found a car in this condition.
Your '58 Cadillac Eldorado Seville is beautiful. And, the way you did the video has a nice flow. It inspires me to make another video of my '88 Eldorado, with the same type of flow.
What a car. Very, very nice. Whatever you do Dont Ever Sell it. Its a masterpiece. Your wife did an excellent job making the video. Good Luck with it.
Excellent Caddy - and very nice ORIGINAL car - I love your "fiftyeight" and also this video - well done. I own 1953 Coupe de Ville - original condition, 68000original miles - but it needs new paint and some detailing.....Thanks for this video, Martin
Very nice car, My dad has a -58 seville also. It has the desert bronze colour. All original too but misses the sixpack and airride....do you have airride on your car?
Over 30 years of obsessing which one i would pick. Yours is a sensable choice. 1958 metal was a better composite than 1959 in G.M. In 59 & 60 people complained bout the low headroom for sake of longer appearing profile.
My first restoration was a 58 Seville, loved the car, cobalt blue with a white vinyl top. What are the extra lights under the headlights?? Does your car the the fiberglass headliner? Mine was featured in the beginning of a movie call Valentino Returns with Barry Tubb. It was in the showroom with a pink 58 Coupe De Ville and 58 Buick Limited. I found the car once after I sold it, but would love to know where it is now. Would love to chat with you more about your care. It is beautiful
Love how the rear quarter windows go down and the power vents are awesome. They'll never make cars that beautifully detailed again. The late 1950s Cadillacs and Buick Roadmasters are works of art.
Beautiful '58 Eldorado! - I noticed the parking lamps were illuminated w/the headlamps on; did you have them re-wired to accomplish this? (I don't think they were wired this way from the factory..) Thanks for posting!
On "regular" 1958 Cadillacs this would indeed only be parking lamps, but the Eldorados had additional fog lights, which were optional on other Cadillacs. Looks like I had the fog lights on when we were filming. There is a separate switch on the headlight switch were you can turn them on and off. Its all original.
I just bought a 1959 Cadillac Eldorado Seville... 100% complete needs restoration.. Wish me luck!!

Unfortunately my car does not have any options - and airride was one of the few options which were available.

Absolutely magnificent! Incredible color. '58 to be preferred over the outrageous & excessive '59. Your wife is a very accomplished film maker.

Don't it make you ill when they wreck old cars in the movies. Watch "Coupe DeVille" it hurt what they do to that Cadillac...and the Edsel at the end!

Truly this man has taste! That car must be worth a fortune!!! At least 80 to 100 thousand dollars! An ULTRA RARE gem of an auto.

jaja...wenn das importieren nicht so kompliziert wäre..und dann noch die behördengänge...absolut tolles auto!

dabei ist es mit Oldtimern eh noch harmlos und relativ unproblematisch. Der Aufwand hält sich in Grenzen.
