I was able to finish this game (1st quest) back in the day. The ending scene was crap but the dimensions of the game and being able to finish it was quite rewarding.

@tachbach la princesa en cada partida, al igual que los distintos objetos que podías coger del juego cambiaba de posición cada vez. Yo recuerdo haberla visto en dos o tres sitios. Saludos.

I was able to finish this game back in it´s day. I consider it to be the best spectrum adventure ever.

By the way: there was another previous game about Fred, it was called just "Fred" and the character had to try and get out from a pyramid. There were monsters like mummies, bats, lizzards, poisonous drops... that drained your life if they touched you.

I never could see the end of the game when I was a kid because the game was too hard for my skill. And now I did.

I remember of that game that each game was different. For example, some times the rope you use at the end was there since the beginning of the game, and you had to do different things.

And now I think, some things in "Sir Fred" remind me to "Castlevania: SotN".

It's actually a deep sea diving suit but he forgot to put the helmet on. Luckily he can hold his breathe under water for almost 3 minutes.

wow what a blast from the past mate, I had this way way back when I was at school and that was such along time ago me being 37 god where did all the years go, I remember sitting up in my bedroom for hours playing this and many other Great games, god I feel so old now but cheers for posting the clip, I feel like a 13 year old school boy again!!!!

Those were the days when time stood still, kind of. Nowadays everything goes by so fast. A great era to be around in with so many great games. I guess at the end of the day we are all 13 years old inside! Glad to have made you feel old, lol!

Cheers buddy, its just something about seeing all this old stuff that gets me going you know, tha ZX was ace and all my school friends had one that way I was able to build up a huge collection for next to nothing with the old double tape machine!!!! still have quite afew in the loft boxed away from years ago!!!! seeing your clips I will now get up there and dig some out and have a play around!!!, Ah yes thanks again for making me feel old!!!!

I was a bit older when the speccy came out. My mate's brother was still at school and he used to get pirate compilation tapes for us to play. Then you would get a crap tape recorder which would chew the tapes up and eventually have to buy the games second hand years later. Those were the days my friend...

your right about the tape getting chewed up every now and again, and I remember that the games would take forever to load and then at the last few seconds it would CRASH which was a pain in the arse . But I got many to load so I was happy!!!. I see that you've posted other zx games spinny they are some of the best games that came out do you remember a game called critical mass I think it was by Domark it was ace, any well I'm sure to look at your other games, cheers again pal.

Very artistic, and it just shows what the speccy was capable of with a bit of thought, colour wise and in designing and planning the game. Paco Menendez was a true games genius who has left some great games to be remembered by!

I remeber two more games by Spanish programmers with great graphics : Spirits and Viaje Al Centro De La Tierra, but Sir Fred is the game that intrigued me most back in the days, yet i remeber i scored only 22 or 28 percents

They were bought out by the British publishers and sold down the river. Shame about Paco Menendez, a great talent, who died too soon. The spirit of the Spectrum will live forever! ;)

Their software for the Spectrum was so different. Great graphics and nice colours. British programmers should have taken it on-board, but they didn't!

The story of the spanish' programmers was weird and sad... They all are now forgotten except for a few fans, and even (like in the case of "Abadía del crimen") they comitted suicide... Anyway, some of them, like the programmer of the original "Army Moves" it's trying to resurrect the spirit! :)

Actually, many programmers DID make use of colours when they made their own original IP - not just the Spanish. Off the top of my head, games like Rex and Dark Sceptre, for example. Even games like Dizzy.
