  • I've only been playing for a while but I find myself strumming in the same pattern every time when I try to sing and play. So this was helpful, thanks.

  • @KeeGeeh Been there done that for years! Haha it will get better with time.....trust me, all my songs were exact at first but slowly sounded different

  • ur going too fast!!! cant follow!

  • @alterna816 Haha

  • This was a fantastic video! I am always getting stuck on the same strumming pattern and this really helped me. I knew most of them, but a lot of times I don't think to use them so it was still very helpful. I love your guitar, I think taylors are neck and neck with martins.

  • @BriaMcCall Strumming is tricky for sure....thanks for the kind words

  • 0 dislikes? that's what I'm talking about

  • this helps a lot! :D

  • You are awesome! It's nice to see a fellow christian person.

  • i canttttttt do the chop one and thats the one idk how 2 do haha

  • @JulieNicoleSays haha keep practicing! You'll get there! :)

  • Crystal clear demonstration, Excellent Technic to help beginner understand quickly. Good man. Keep it up.

  • thank you for taking the time to help us! Blessings to you as well :)

  • So if I'm not mistaken: It doesn't really matter what strum pattern you use for a song? You can use just about everything? Because when I hear, for example, the song "Mama Said" by Metallica, I cannot really hear what rhythm he uses, so it's kinda hard for me to learn it. The same goes with other songs. Thank you for a nice list of techniques! You are a good teacher :) Crystal clear explanations.

  • @dudiaz Exactly! No certain strum patterns...just timing!

  • Thanks for the advice this was really helpful :)

  • @Mrsbunz16 You're welcome! Good luck

  • Nice!!!

  • Thanks for the help for us beginners bro! God bless(:

  • Really Good!! Thanks so much for ya help!!

  • Nevermind Matt, you broke down the bass note stuff on "I'll Fly Away". Thanks!

  • Matt, thanks for all you're doing to further His kingdom. One question, what is the bass note. I'm not a big country fan but those songs sound great.

  • When you mute strum... can you show us what part of your hand you use to mute the strings? I have tried it but seem to fail to get the same sound. Thank you :o)

  • Oh man you are so right. I am to fast and my voice takes over, strumming slow songs is the hardest for me. I will book make this and watch it a lot. Thank you so much. Laura

  • 2:12 i luv that song!! thanks 4 that!

  • @Wenping88 Could you please tell me the name of that song? Thanks. :D

  • @2ris2 trading my sorrows

  • I can't figure out how to mute the strings(or how to chop) and strum. I have asked several people and still haven't got it. Maybe you could make a video just on that? By the way thanks for taking the time to give instruction! and God Bless
