  • Looks like you had some nice days to make hay with, cant wait for winter to be over.  Are the mowers geared up to compensate with the slower speed of the team?

  • @whitebredcharlie Horses, however, require significantly higher quality feed, are much less even tempered, and are not readily available or affordable in many international rural development situations. The horses vs. oxen debate is highly dependant upon your individual situation. Thanks for watching!

  • In this video, the oxen are moving at about 2.5 miles per hour or about 12,000 feet per hours. The cutter bars on our mowers are 5 and 6 feet long. That multiplies out to about 60,000 sq feet per hour or nearly 1.5 acres per hour. Given limits on cutting conditions and animal endurance, 10 acres would probably take 2 days or more.

  • How long would it take to cut a 10 acre field and how many feet is the mower?
