  • Singin' out to the troops in Vietnam is a nice.

  • A great version of James "Beale Street" Clark from an underrated genius: Freddie "The Texas Cannonball" King.

In my humble opinion, of the Three Kings - Albert, B. B. - the most superlative is Freddie.

  • Супер!!!

  • You got your funk in my blues! You got your blues in my funk! This is amazing!

  • This is the greatest thing I have ever heard.

  • Ну как такого не любить, а?

  • franz909fuckwit....go-go dancers duh!!! Fucking retard, fuck off!! Who's interested in your wanky shit! leave this to the reals musos, while you go fuck your mama again ....go on.get going retard!

  • Amazing thats all I can say

  • he was born with that suit on.

  • This man has got the funk!

  • Fucking Christ I can't believe how underrecognized this guy is.

  • He was born in east Tx. Gillmer a very small town. One of many great players from Tx.

  • Dang, I wish he hadnt played that Bb at 2:15!

I know, I know. It's about the groove and all...

  • @UseYerEFFINBrain That was just to make sure you were still paying attention

  • Escucho a Freddie y dan ganas de que el tema no se acabe

  • oh yah,, people I know..i play guitar in my sleep and i have and i know.mr freddie was where it is

  • One word: Showman.

  • No idea what the fellow's name is, but the rhythm guitarists seems to have been with Freddie around '72 to '74 at least and is incredible! Anyone know his name?

  • This is it. This is the one.Big man, big tone, big heart.

  • The man`s name is KING cos he is the of the blues guitar.

  • You know, for having the blues, this son of a bitch always looks so happy jamming. Blues is some of my favorite, and nobody does electric blues better than this guy. He is relatively unknown too. Crazy aint it?

  • this dude is one hell of a GOD.

  • Freddie King is such a monster performer, probably the most soulful voice in blues!

  • Mr Freddie King Passed on in 1976 I Believe ! BB King -Albert King - & Freddie King are all Great ! The Blues Lives on ! ! Thank You All of You !

  • Gov't Mule covers this. They still play the real shit!

  • What concert is this from? Gotta get it on DVD.

  • Hey Dutchy, I'm with you on that one Bro!

  • @MrBuzyrd thanks Bud

  • sorry BB you just been dethroned

  • this man could play,, and play,, and did i say play,, just a master talent, to say the very least yo..

  • I love Freddies shuffles.

  • I'd get on that time machine too. I'd love to see and hear Freddie play live. No around like him today. Freddie was certainly...A KING!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hell of guitar player... wonder what kinda rig he played thru..anybody?

  • @ravner1976 I think he pretty much just used his 355 and a super reverb amp, o and a lead.

  • @mrmrmanlyman its acually a 345, as it has a switch that can split the individual humbuckers, which made a big difference.

  • This man was so much more than just a great guitar player. He had it all he was the total package!

  • Bought his Texas Cannonball album as a kid cause I liked the the picture of the armadillos jumping out of his guitar. Ha ha, that changed my life as a guitarist. Thanks Freddie.

  • i love you freddie

  • Fredie's got that joy man. My smile is wide as the ocean. This is him at his best.

  • That guy on the tele is rockin' out

  • damn that sounds so good. what a master.

  • Du caralho!!!

  • Eric Clapton Said Freddie King showed him how to make love to a guitar

  • Jimi Hendrix got so many inspiration from him.....he was simply a GENIUS!!!! awesom....

  • could watch this all day.thanx

  • what a funky dude

and a better guitarist and singer than most

  • Love the freeky video flashing at 1:27, so 70's, Laugh In

  • mother effin Freddy!!!!!

  • 00:43 this face xd

  • What a voice! Saw Freddie live with Clapton in 1976. King blew everyone away. Six months later he was dead. Clapton once said "Freddie was the one who showed me how to make love to a guitar". Influenced Paul Kossoff greatly also.

  • freedy is trying his best to get that other guitar player to look up a smile, but as some guitarist all they can do is look at their guitar, i can't stand that. thats what makes a good guitarist look at your crowd and let them know your glad they showed up, they could be somewhere else....

  • Freddie's one of Jerry Garcia's biggest influences.

  • that true? i didn't kno that....very cool tho. i'm a blues addict and i also happen to love the GD!!! it'd make sense tho kuz jerry's style was so expansive. i'm sure he had many influences.

  • looks like he`s wearing the strap backwards some people do that for their comfort ,some people are real picky about how their straps fit them.

  • He has the best dance when he starts.

  • Only one wish.....give me a time machine so I can go back to an era when the real shit was played.......

  • @Dutchy1965 Absolutely right dude. This is REAL MUSIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @londonuk70 thanks mate

  • @londonuk70 you the Man

  • @Dutchy1965 37 smart ones out there - thanks !

  • @Dutchy1965 The only problem is you would have to wear polyester leisure suits!

  • @Dutchy1965 me and you both!!

  • wow whole lotta of raw power.. stuffs the whole room...

  • OMG, sounds off but it looks amazing....

  • Man I Love that Suit!!

  • Combine SOUL, Blues Talent, Style, Stage Presence...you got Freddy King!

  • @tubeampz1 dont forget to add some texas

  • That's some poweful blues people!

  • He is The KING

  • one of the kings man, but hell theyre good

  • @mljansson Definitely! No wonder he was called "The Original Texas Cannonball".

  • Freddie King--one of the greatest guitarist/blues singers of all time, plus he was a showman. He made things interesting by his style, including that guitar strap over his right shoulder, and the feeling he put into his music.

  • are you joking? I hope so otherwise you got issues.

  • LoLz?....

  • Feddie King is one of the top ten greatest guitarist of all time.

  • Why does he has his guitar strap on his right shoulder and not on his left shoulder? Great song anyways.

  • His strap is like that because bar players used to do that when playing in bars. In case of fight they could quickly take off their guitar with them and run, or worse. Smack the opponent with it!

  • good ploy!

  • It was probably because he was such a big dude he couldn't have it across the left without the guitar coming up on to his chin. He couldn't find a strap big enough.

  • He needed a stretchy strap like Buckethead has.

  • WHAT?!?!?! You listen to Big B?!?! "Bluesguy"? Nah, Just kidding, Buckethead is Very insperational and one of my fav guitarist. but yeah, freddy needs it hahaha! buckethead actually has soul unlike other shreders.

  • DUDE!!! GOTTA LOVE THE BLUES!

  • I would never ever want to go on stage after that guy.He was a GOD

  • haha indeed, but i like the elmore james version way better with the harmonica. :)

  • Anybody know who that is playing Rythm guitar?

  • DAMN.

  • So GOOD Blues Groovey COOLT

  • that's the first time I've seen him do the T-bone thing - and It's all the more sweeter cos it's the first time...

  • yes..i hope some of young cats are guitar players in here looking and learning when i asked my dad for a guitar he made me listen to freddy king and that was it listen with open ears as well as heart and i promise you will get it.

  • yea chillin n watchin

    this is sommmmmmme good music

  • Dude, I was thinkin the same thing !!! I`ve got a Washburn elct, Guitar & no idea how to play it,, BUT I think I`ll get it out now & put on some Freddie King !!! LOOK OUT NEIGHBORS !

  • lolololol! He had me at the opening! less than 5 seconds in!!

    This is a funky kat!

  • QUE GRANDE EL GRONE, UN FENOMENO!!!

  • He´s a guitar budha!! Five stars please...

  • right from the beginning! look at him get into that groovee, i love this

  • Best voice of the 3 Kings.

You know he's got the blues, just look at that suit.

  • such stage presence, he owns it baby, wot a singer, wot a player... im getting boring so ill get my coat!

  • people who compare the bluesers are missing the point on why freddie king is so incredible..

  • WOW!

  • Original song by Elmore James..

Texas Canonball is on fire here!

  • badass

  • a damn shame he's not in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame...

  • just reading my last comment... that made no sense. players at freddie's level, are why i consider people like clapton or vaughan, and fifty others, merely great, rather than phenominal. i don't belive we'll see anyone as good as freddie or otis rush, etc, for a good while to come.

  • have to point out the obvious... some of the greatest bluesmen are Kings. bb, albert, freddy. i hate to put anybody off, but players like freddie are why i just consider others like stevie ray, great. freddie was phenominal.

  • He was great onstage. A machine.

  • zajebiste boogie! i huj!

  • Hey Yeah! I saw Freddie do this song when opening for Grand Funk Railroad in Hampton, Virginia in 1972, we had 6th row seats and WOW, Freddie Threw Down, Tore It Up, and made me a life long fan! I RAN to the store to buy this album (on LP)...called "My Feeling For The Blues".

GREAT - thanks for the trip down memory lane!

Oh - and the song is "Look OVER Yonders Wall".

  • I about had a seizure when the solo started....

  • that's the music I like !

  • What a legend. Nuff Said.

  • why oh why did most the greats die way too young? I wish Freddie was still with us - Albert Collins - and Albert King of course...I guess the devil likes the blues too much!

  • texas cannonball!

  • He was simply amazing!

  • Could you imagine being there??? He had the acid tone that hits you everytime and his voice is second to none. GREAT.

  • Nobody can come close to the funky soul of Freddie King.

  • Nonthing more to be said

  • He really was something else.

  • luv ya freddie!you are truly the KING!!!

  • for me,is very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very big.I'm discover an other side of blues.

  • THE KING OF THE THREE KINGS...Man, he could wail....GO ON FREDDIE!.

  • No one like Freddie. Wonderful King of the Blues.

  • Gets no better than this....as great a singer as he was a guitar player!

  • Freddy is the "King" of the 3 Kings he had more chops and stage presence than Albert or B.B. ever thought about. But I still love them all.

  • YEAH !!!!!!!!!!!!! Freddy is bad ass, this guy groovs like a m*th*r F*cker!

  • This is one rascal! Whoa that's roadhouse blues. Look out for road blocks when driving home!

  • you can play a freddie king song but never play like freddie king

  • That's for sure. Many Guys have(has) been trying out his 'play'. The most near is Clapton who called him his master or Guru. That guy I really want to copy he said. I got many videos of Freddie. Greetings from Sweden

    Goran

  • 0:10 - 0:20 i laughed my ass off!

    Freddie the king!

  • the blues giant

  • freddy is the man

no one has his big voice and agressive style

    the real roots

get burglar album when he plays with craptalk

  • baby, yonda' come yo' man!

  • that motha-faq-er is sick with. OoOHHhH

  • A somewhat non-blues version of this tune.

  • non blues?

  • Yeah - listen to Crudup's original or Elmore James' cover to see what I mean. King's version here is fine but sped up to almost a cha-cha.

  • Yeah - listen to Crudup's original or Elmore James' cover to see what I mean. King's version here is fine but sped up to almost a cha-cha.

  • not putting down the greats like vaughan or clapton, but masters like freddy king and otis rush are far too often overlooked and are just plain the heart of the blues that stevie, eric, and a million other wish they were.

  • LOL, How could you throw Clapton and Vaughan into the "million other" category?

  • LOL, How could you throw Clapton and Vaughan into the "million other" category?

  • Among the rock guitar players who were influenced by Freddie, add Jerry Garcia. He often mentioned hideaway and FK in general as one of his earliest electric guitar influences.

  • freddie f in rocks hes the best

  • don't stop learning about all music let it all jam

  • not only srv and clapton were influenced by him also robben ford.and he made a song as a tribute to the king called cannon ball shuffle.

  • what does 'look over yonder wall' mean?

  • it means...."look over the wall in the distance"

  • Bernie Pearl is the ultimate poseur! He doesn't deserve to be on the stage with Freddie King that's for sure.

  • do you redi beav???

  • redibeaver--Don't you think that comment is about 30-35 years late?

  • Hazafi4life - What do YOU think? You comment on comments.....ain't that a little strange? YOU are probably Bernie or his crazy-assed brother Lee! Burn baby burn!!!

  • haha ..what do I think? hahah..I THINK your comment is about 30-35 years LATE..And commenting on comments is quite normal these days..It's what makes the world go round..Can you handle it? Or are you stuck in the 70's? hahhahha

  • maybe late maybe someone just discovered an influence of their music and was amazed by what it really was.the only hope for music today is don't forget the yesterday MESH ALL PUNK FUNK SOUTHERN ROCK N BLUES AND PLEASE TEACH WHO CAME FROM WHO

  • man u go to hell

  • Wow, perhaps my favorite Freddie video. Freddie had it all, big charisma, a hell of a voice and a legendary guitar sound and style, he could have done well just singing or just player but used both. How many of the top pop stars today have any of this guys talents?

  • When music was about music

  • Very nice. He's not Elmore James, though.

  • Elmore James was nothing compared to Freddie King. James had a tiny, metallic tone and a comparatively weak voice. Freddie King was awesome.

  • Elmore was one of the pioneers, creating a new kind of sound, a new kind of feeling. I think that Freddie and other guys (Albert, BB) took the story when Elmore finished his chapter. And then Jimi. It's just like a family.

  • james was one of the people freddie would sneak into see. elmore james was a chicago legend. and as weshkyfran said was a pioneer.

  • If you think Elmore James had a weak voice and tiny tone then you have never heard Elmore James, or perhaps the batteries on your hearing aid need replacing.

  • Anyone know the name of the guitarist to Freddie's right? I've always wondered who he was, and what happened to him. Could you imagine the stories he could tell?

  • The guitar player you speak of is Bernie Pearl who plays out of the L.a. area

  • Freddie King did this same song on a video called i believe live at the Sugar Bowl...better audio on it...Hot as hell

  • OMG That Was Mind Blowing. You don't see that today

  • i need to practice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Funky!!!

  • Freddie King - The Best, meanest, rawest blues guitarist/singer of them all, very versatile. He played in a league of his own.

  • he sounds like hendrix slowed down sometimes

  • agreed. hendrix and other bluesmen like srv took a lot from these old guys and respected them hugely. but i think hendrix really took it all a step further.

  • you mean hendrix sounds like freddie sped up?

  • freddie king of blues

  • correction- freddie spanks all of us

  • Possibly the best voice ever???

  • Freddie spanks most of us. Hes awesome

  • Freddie is one of the baddest dudes Ive ever seen play with finger picks. Thanks for posting.

  • Haha shut up he spanks you! Freddie King is the best

  • this breack my head , awesome.

  • The Texas Cannonball! Thanks for posting this.
