  • If you want a better textmate alternative check out redcar. It's still in early development, but I'm running it and it gives you snippets, bundles, etc. Google it.

  • thanks, I'm testing that is very cool

  • The link doesn't work. :(

  • I update the link, thanks

  • I noticed behavior very similar to TextMate's bundles in this screencast. Not too bad, but I'll stick with TextMate.

  • I don't get it - you think gedit and textmate are similar because gedit has a files pane and ruby syntax highlighting? HAH! linux people are hilarious.

  • Auto completion, snippets, snap open, regex matching, quick highlight, and so on... Those plugins together can make gEdit behave like the Textmate - it's not the "looks".

But of course, you're too narrow-minded to see this on the video. Jez, I guess you don't even know what Emacs is.

  • who is narrow minded? you're the one saying I don't know what emacs is??? presumptuous yourself.

Anyway, I'm talking about more than just the looks... I've used linux for years... clumsy gedit doesn't come close.

  • "you think gedit and textmate are similar because gedit has a files pane and ruby syntax highlighting?"

This comment is stupid, and talks by itself. EOF
