Thank you for sharing this! I never would've thought I'd get my first taste of Porgy and Bess with Dmitri Hvorostovsky. He does a great job with the English, especially since it has the mispronunciation and poor grammar written into it. Beautiful performance!

I'm years late finding this, but to those who note the incorrect pronunciations..when performed by these two brilliant artist, no libretto required, kids.

Oh, and I'd think about studying my written grammar rules with a little more enthusiasm and dedication before I posted an error-ridden comment about the English language.

Re "you IS my woman" = Porgy & Bess is an opera that takes place among poor black people and so Gershwin tried to be faithful to their way of speaking.

I love this duo from Porgy and Bess,they sang it so naturally beautifull.I just listen Dmitriy in Iceland in Listahatid.He is great artist!he was singing all programm in russian,and it was great!I thought that I understand every word which he was singing,but I do not speak russian.He is great,great,great artist!

I hate whoever made this video, their singular focus on Dimitry at the expense of Hendricks is fandom at its worse. Its like the person couldnt stand to listen to a single moment that Dimitri wasn't singing. Some of us like the MUSIC, not just the personalities. How horrid.
