awesome song man! great spectrogram analysis... I've been playin around with drawing in frequencies without the assistance of a program that does it for you... (cheaters lol) it's a real pain lol

S.O.B.!!! You almost blew my studio reference speakers... why do some people upload in such a stupid-ass high volume? Pathetic. I hope my equipment is not damaged, or I'll kick your online ass.
wtf??? obviously you know nothing about recording.... YOUR SUPPOSED TO HAVE IT AS HOT AS POSSIBLE WITHOUT CLIPPING!!! there is nothing wrong with the way this song is mixed at all.... try not having your "Studio reference speakers" turn up so loud... another thing..... they're not "speakers" they are monitors......
I've looked for a spectrogram plugin for a video editing program or any other way to render multiple spectrograms at the same time and I haven't been able to locate anything of the sort. Spectrogram programs seem to be all, "serious business" and not a lot of fun.
ha, well, here's for a bit of self promotion : I made a command-line spectrographer (and accessorily spectrogram synthesiser but it's not relevant here) that can be scripted into outputting the spectrogram of the input sound into a BMP file. Depending on what you have as an input you could make a script that would automatically generate a spectrogram for each channel, then using ImageMagick you could colour them and mix them, and then you'd just have to scroll the final image in the video editor
oh and you can find the programme by googling 'arss sourceforge'. Oh and the cool thing about it is that it handles both a linear frequency scale or a (true, not warped linear like the others do) log base 2 frequency scale (like on music scores) and anything between the two, so you can get a better representation for the lower frequencies :)
Yeah, I tried it out with several configurations. With linear, most of the sound is down at the bottom, but then it dramatically leaps up for the higher frequencies. With it set to logarithmic there was always more stuff on the screen. btw, I'm looking for some better spectrogram software, if you know any. By better I mean higher resolution and not as grainy. :P
Dude, that beat is so phat.

Hey man, props to a really cool concept, really impressed. This is probably not the first time its been done, but nevertheless, 5 stars

Oh, I love the concept. Sometimes when I listen to music I imagine shapes and movements that fit to it, so this is very interesting to see.
Nice tune, too!

BWAHAHAHAHAHA.
Make sure to get a video if it if your speakers explode.
hamsteralliance 3 years ago
It's not high at all, it's a good volume. Maybe you need to just turn down your volume.....That would make sense. Not making it the videos fault.

lovely colours! I take it you separately "rendered" spectrograms of each instruments and gave them a colour separately?

Yup. :)

This looks like the spectrographix equivalent of a bizarre forest fire. Nice!
