Both professional and amateur astronomers - they are many ! - constantly scan the sky for newly appearing objects (such as asteroids or supernovae in other galaxies), and a big planet approaching the inner solar system can't go unnoticed. Such sensational news would spread very quickly among the astro-community, and tens of thousands of people worldwide would direct their telescopes at the planet. every 1000 years or so the planets form a line. This is due to happen in 2012. Now if u think about it earth is about 200000 or more years old. So this means its happened before so it will NOT be the end of the world it would just be the start of a new era like more water less land or less water more land or maybe antarctica will melt making the seas and oceans rise so stay of the coast and stay up the hills and inland.
