actually there are 24 melodies.

At 1:51, the third one starts to play. They probaly thinked on putting an 8 melodyes issue in this game, but I don't know, maybe they just gived up the idea, but the song was already made. so they put there to work with 8 melodies from mother 1 and smile and tears (or eight melodies 2, whatever) from mother two ^^
