  • @Cooller1993 The ignorance of this comment is actually incredible to witness

  • @Cooller1993 I'm still in a state of shock at your idiocy.

  • Hey, awesome video.I was getting into the form all wrong and it was really uncomfortable. Now that I've seen how you get into it it makes more sense!

  • who needs porn..

  • This is just a PSEUDO push up... planche should be no where in this title.

  • @anthonyboone its getting annoying that people dont understand the term pseudo - "The prefix pseudo- is used to mark something as false, fraudulent, or pretending to be something it is not." it is a pseudo planche push up because it is an easier way to put your body in a similar position, in theory training you to be able to hold the real position in the future.

  • is hand placement important? i mean should it point forward or outward?

  • @algore1993 i think it's proper to have your hands pointed forward as much as possible, backwards towards your feet makes it easier, but strays away from the purpose i think. I could be wrong though, but i practice mine with foward hands.

  • @ThePhiAtom thanks i have beenđoing it like that. i think it helps with the balance so you wont fall forward. but i can only do the push ups, not the full planche, just cant lift my legs up :(

  • @ThePhiAtom some people planche with hands pointing backwards because it is less damaging for the wrists and more similar to the position you would be on the rings. but if you want to planche hands forwards then do it that way. i have stopped most of this type of training now though.

  • It says it in the name of the video idiots, it's a pseudo planche pushup. PSEUDO!

  • nice, i do these. no pushups though, just trying to lean forward as much as possible and holding it , almost like a maltese on floor lol

  • Nice! try wall planche push ups

  • Great - will try them.

  • Pussy

  • and i would want to do this because?

  • @uzavas Because this will help you get ready for a planche pushup then you can show off

  • u min lerro?

  • pseudo = to panzy to it for realz

  • @ThePrivateJoker Not at all, almost no-one that can do a plance did it without pseudo's

  • this is my new mission, have mastered the triple clap push ups now will try this

  • Shit bro, nice

  • Seems like a hip pushups

  • nice floor, looks very comfotable.

Unpleasant cuz of the sweat and stuff though

  • i think having hands facing forward is the best way, it maybe painfull in the start but in the end you gain flexibllity strength and you have better controle over your planches i think ;)

  • i disagree. i got an injured wrist from doing it like that. also, once you get used to it, its not too hard to do hands backwards.

but you know it depends on the person. maybe for you it feels ok. i have over flexible wrists though so there they lean right to the end of the range of motion and start o hurt my ligaments.

  • why did you bother watching it ? it is simply describing a training method used for learning how to do a planche, some people have found it helpful.

  • these hurt your wrists like hell

  • thats why i do them on pushup stands or with my hands pointing backwards

  • Actually they don't.

  • @jakdax77 i do 25 reps of 10 sets like 10 seconds in between sets its easy but the straddle is hard kicking ur feet back and leave them there is hard

  • I can only do sets of 20 psudos,

GJ keep on working at this

  • i would like to learn a full planche...are these better than tucked planche pushups??

I can do like 10 tucked but i cant do a planche properly :S

    any help appreciated ...

  • well you can make these as hard as you want. lean as far forward as possible, try doing 5 sets of 5 reps. so hard you fail on the 5th rep

also with your tuck planche. try extending out a little further so its closer to a full planche. and do 5 sets of 12 second holds ( should be so hard that you fail on the 12 second)

  • oh thx :D

  • oo oke nice nice but yeah your right its a diffrent kind of push up and its hard to do

    good luck

  • is that a planche i thought a planche is only with legs up not the normal push up haha

  • no its not a planche, thats why i didnt call it a planche lol.

its a method of learning planche. and its not a normal pushup ether

  • its not calles planche pushups.. it's PSEUDO planche push ups

  • their not normal notice how his hands are at his waste, those are harder than normal push ups, and their acutally practice planche push ups

  • pseudo*

  • dude u shud put ur hands facing FORWARDS to advance onto full planches for balance

  • Thats not correct. It would be impossible to do a pseudo planche pushup with your wrists at that angle. For the exercise shown, his hands are in the correct place.

  • That would certainly be possible. Actually it would be more advanced and allow you to move on to more difficult forms. It just takes flexibility in the wrists. Look up Gymnastics Bodies and you will see Coach Sommer's work. The hands facing backwards is easier on one's wrist, though not entirely correct from a gymnastics view.

  • Its not like its not possible to do it with hands facing backwards....In fact, it is much harder and actually looks nicer with hands facing backwards.

  • it is both harder and easier in some ways. If you do them facing forward you have to suffer more pain to gain wrist flexibility and forearm strength while backwards you work more on lats, pecs and overall balance.

  • I chose to train it with hands to the side for an even balance.

  • First off, nice spelling. Second, the hands backward position develops the necessary elbow strength for more advanced skills on rings. Fingers forward is easier for the planches, but it's not right or wrong. For strength development, hands backwards is better. Just be careful, it's easy to push too hard and get tendonitis. Take your time increasing the arm angle! This guy's video is really good. He has the strength for a short straddle planche, at the least.

  • das ist ja richtig schwach

  • Shoulders, arms and chest, mostly. Its effectiveness depends on your goals.

  • pseudo idiot pseudo!

  • That's why he wrote pseude..

    learn to read people...

  • thats what a PSEUDO planche pushup is.

  • your forearms are bending backward from your wrist when your arm is fully bent. with that you might as well point your fingers forward.

i think the point of pseudo planche pushups is that you get used to pushups with your arms at an angle. your arms only go at angle to the floor completely when they are straight. have a close look at JLSaiahE's vid. try bneding forearms forwards from wrist.

    what do you think?

  • fingers forwards trains a slightly different part of your shoulder and is more stress on your wrists.

i think most gymnasts train planche with hands pointing backwards or atleast to teh side becasue on rings thats how you have to do it and also i think its safest for your shoulder and wrist

  • The point is to build necessary shoulder and tricep strength for the planche.

  • no parkour videos? i noticed your sweats say parkour on it

  • im training planches but have really bad wrists (carpal tunnel syndrome)

Ive found that if i do planches on fists, instead of palms, it puts less pressure on the wrists. I do pushups on my fists for every variation that I do.

  • as i have said before. these are PSEUDO planche pushups. pseudo means not the proper thing.

pseudo planche pushup is for training to be able to planche. it is not the actual move

  • good training form.. i do the same excerscise .. works great.

  • there not supposed to be. its an exercise for learning planche. its not acutaly doing planche

  • What muscle does that work out?

  • Tricep, Shoulder a bit of upper back and core.

  • hey Guys How Do You Prenounce Planche.

And Dont Get Up At Me At How I Type. Its Just How I Type.

  • plan - sh

  • The way you type is annoying.

  • Thats Nice.

  • these are pseudo planche pushups where you put your arms in the same position as a planche but dont lift your feet off the floor.

it is a progression to learning planche. i put the video up to help people learn it.

  • ohh, right. i didnt know. thanks anyway. there's the one against the wall too btw.

  • cool yeah no probz dude

  • hahaha lol next time get your facts straight before dissing

  • thankyou ^_^

  • Man! How did you get so big? I've been training planche push ups and all related gymnastics exercises since forever, and even though I got a lot stronger my muscles won't grow for shit! Any tips? Secrets?

  • yo if you wana get big you have to be doing quite maximal contractions. like 8 reps. try doing some weighted things for your chest or like one arm pushups if youd ont have any weights.

  • cool man! Thanks for the tip! Just one more question.. how many sets do you recommend when working in the 8 rep range? Like 3x8 is enough, or too much? And how many times/week for a particular exercise?

    cheers man!!

  • when I work out I usually do 3x8 or 3x6 if that helps at all

  • The most important part of getting big when you work out is eating. If you really want to gain size then eat, a lot, more than you need to. If you're eating good food and not just mcdonalds then you should gain lean mass no matter how you work out.

  • Yup, you have no idea how many people I know that try to get big but just dont eat. Some of them skip breakfast and I keep telling them to eat like a freaking beast and they will get there

  • Not true. The way you work out dictates a lot of it too...

  • Sumo wrestlers (rikishi) skip breakfast, workout till noon so they gain some appetite, eat like monsters, drink a beer and go to sleep until evening. Then they eat some more and go back to sleep. They train a lot! The whole morning and consider that they get up really early.

  • Ok?

  • Venus rotates backwards, tis the only retrograde planet

  • Yeah totally agreed with moefro777. Just keep on the exercises for the planche, but concentrate on your food. Eat like hell. But eat healthy. Eat a lot with protein. Tuna ect. Good luck.

  • can i use the push up bars to do this? or is it only for hands?

  • I know this push ups by the name "maltese push ups". Great vid anyway.

  • put some socks on

  • i have a question. does this exerc. concentrates in your back?

  • Of course not. You need to do pulling movements like rows and pull ups to "concentrate" your back. Although this exercise will engage it indirectly, it is mostly working anterior delts, I would think (don't know for sure as I've only done them a few times).

  • as Dave said, it doesn't work your back. It works the triceps mostly, and the anterior delt and pectoralis also.

  • It "works" your anterior delts mostly due to the leverage and angle of the shoulder joint.

  • Cool. Nice form. Would you advise doing the pseudos this way, or with the hands forward? I'm getting a bit of wrist pain, might just be the tendons catching up to the rest of the muscles, but I still think it calls for a change.

  • yeah hands backwards is better for the wrists i think.

i stoped doing forwards prety much due to wrist problems it caused

  • by the way, congrats on the planche in your latest vid. it's awesome.

What progression did you use after this? I've started with the wall planches, but I don't think it builds enough core strength. Should I work on l-seat to advanced tuck?

  • yeah man all the little tricks and combos you can do help build strength. just keep playing about and stuf.

    peace

  • what exactly was this? also, impressive hand inversion. that'd make me scream.

  • it is an exercise for your sholders so that you can build up to learning real planche pressups

  • are taht pushups are harder to do than those other with hands facing forwards??

  • hands facing backwards is better for the wrists and uses front of sholder more.

  • yes, because your hands are further back and are using muscles you dont usually use that much. turning your palms back like that just keeps you from screwing up your wrists. try putting your hands back that far and doinga pushup with you palms forward and youll see what i mean!

  • this kind of planche pushups is more focused on biceps.

    it's easy for a gymnast.

    anyway, that's very good ;)

  • It's really not focused on the biceps, why do people think that? Supinated means the biceps are more shortened, but they're still not working.

It does make it much harder for the triceps though, since they're stronger pronated I think.

  • awesome strength.

    keep it up mate.
