@kieranlikesyou1 they recorded both that'll be the day and in spite of all the danger the same day. i think though that'll be the day was recorded first.
We did a song called Human Rights (Direitos Humanos) and dedicated to Bono Vox (U2) and John Lennon(Beatles). Estúdio RDP-Brazil, Brasília-Alberto Dias
@zunk11 Buddy Holly died 1959, and it was long before The Beatles were famous, and besides, they were probably the ones who would've been proud to be with him, he's their favorite artist.
@zunk11 IF they had met him, yes, they probably would've been. Apparently, when going on the Ed Sullivan Show, the first thing they asked was if this was the same stage that Buddy Holly had once played.
Love the Beatles, I'm a 16 year old musician and I write and record my own music by myself, please have a listen on my channel! Tracks 1, 2 and 4 are light songs. Revive real instruments! Thanks.
Beatiful, great pictures and music!!!! Thank a lot. George is really a child, and that picture at 1:51 is wonderful. People say: "Roma was not made in one day" so, the same can be say about The Beatles.
I'am 16 and I love them... only thinking about their story, the way they all met. The fact that they were about my age when they started and by looking on this video, I just want to cry... I feel so thankful about everything they gave to us, their music, their friendship... you gotta love the beatles
As I am a huge Buddy Holly fan, it has always impressed me mightily that the pre fab Quarrymen chose to record this song. Buddy Holly was still alive at the time! Even though John is pretty loose with the lyrics, the historic importance of this is immeasurable. Great post, good pics and better than average audio. Cheers!
@drazerama1 the reason why you like the sound of the older stuff is probably because it is more "real sounding". Ever since the computer age and music merged it started to sound "over processed" (too perfect)
you werent born? neither one of my parents were born :D im just glad that though i missed all those awesome years, at least the songs have made it today.
@765483 That guy is playing the tea chest bass. It's really just a variation of the washtub bass. Every skiffle band had a tea chest. They said it didn't really matter if it was playing in key as long as the crowd could feel the thump-thump-thump it made.
This song along with "In Spite of All the Danger" were the first 2 'Beatles' recordings were they not? Still waaay better then most of the music today
At 15, george is ALREADY a decent lead guitarist. Add another 5 years of playing together non-stop - and you get a TIGHT band (with emerging genius sprinkled in) that would take their place in history. They went from this Demo to "Strawberry Fields Forever" in 8 years - it's almost miraculous really. Besides Penicillin, the Beatles were the most positive thing to happen to Western Civilization in the 20th century. Forget the academics of it - they just make you feel happy.
@PicnicHikeMusic That's because huge and innovative changes were taking place in rock and roll and the Beatles were in the right place at the right time and got to contribute to it. It was a way better period than today where everything is formulaic crap and nobody cares about innovation anymore--they just want to buy more crap and so that is what they get.
they looked for a Drummer, they went through 3 people and then we got George, Then Ringo was on his way in, He heard Ringo play, He was better than "Pete".. And then Pete was kicked out, not by the Beatles.. But by their manager: Ryan, Pete never forgave them. And They were on their way out of Germany, But Stu The Bassist stayed at Germany for his love.
Actually right after their first hamburg trip, they started being regarded a top act back in liverpool, gerry marsden of gerry and the pacemakers was astounded by their diversity and how perfectly george defragmented every lead guitar sound he heard.
@PicnicHikeMusic george didn't start to be a really good guitarist till about 1967, Prior to that his playing was very "stiff" with no fluidity. Gee...what a coincinence....he did LSD in 1967
There are still people out there that think that the Beatles formed a band and immediately became world famous. No, those guys worked their asses off when most bands would have thrown in the towel and given up. They scratched and clawed just to get crappy gigs at crappy clubs for crappy money. They were always trying to get better as a band. Gee, do you think they succeeded in this quest? The only thing that sounds like the Beatles on this recording is Lennon's familiar voice. History....
Private The Beatles tour in Liverpool was one of the best thing I've experienced in my life. I visited Penny Lane, Strawberry fields, the place where John and Paul met and all the important places. It's something that every true Beatles fan should experience. Truly magnificent.

@anime8snowman i saw it two days ago, it's a nice film... but the actors that represent George and Paul... suck a little... but all the other stuff are just ok... i learned a lot about lennon... and yeah i'm actually 17 just yesterday (it was my birthday) and i love all this stuff... also led zep... pink floyd, deep purple, the rollings, cream... etc etc.
@MetalMilpa nice, I'm young, but I think that's great taste in music. Classic rock is my thing. Cream, black sabbath, hedrix...they and so much more, make music that really really flows and is empowering and beautiful.
There is something utterly refreshing about the simplicity of the Beatles (the Quarrymen) sound and lyrics. That's why they'll live in our hearts forever. [Even though I know this is Buddy Holly's and the Crickets song.]
