  • Walk past the cavern club everyday

  • @nintend0productions2 correction: The Beatles - the real kings of rock

  • @CarlfredrikNB No Buddy Holly, no Beatles. Even their name is an homage to The Crickets.

    FIRST RECORDING EVER MADE BY

    THE BEATLES (THE QUARRYMEN)

  • i still have not heard a voice like John's.. and I dont think he knew how big he really was.

  • @Catherineslove o I think John knew how big he was:) that's how he predicted they would become famous way before they did

  • "The guitar's all very well John, but you'll never make a living out of it." Aunt Mimi.

  • 0:42 falic symbol

  • "the era of guitar bands is over"

  • Stealing from Buddy Holly? Unforgivable. No I'm just kidding I love the Beatles. Ahem... Quarrymen

  • They were a band who made it very very big...Yeah and also refused to sell out by recording lame ass songs which just about every asshole does today.

  • @JamesTKirkCobain Yeah. She luvs u, yeah, yeah, yeah. duh. They got better, and made the turn to great music with Rubber Soul. gSavage115

  • Leider ist dieses Video in Deutschland nicht verfügbar, da es Musik enthalten könnte, für die die GEMA die erforderlichen Musikrechte nicht eingeräumt hat.

    FICKT EUCH IHR HURENSÖHNE!

  • Can't believe we never heard of them just a few years after this song.

  • oh you guys are so funny....

  • Good tune, lads, but I don't think the world's ready for this.

  • Wow! They just covered a Buddy Holly song. These guys need to learn how to write their own music if they ever want to make it big. ;)

  • @SuperMatrixboy I know they won't ever wont ever amount to any thing

  • @SuperMatrixboy idiot there the beatles

  • @NakiZakimaru i think thats the joke

  • @NakiZakimaru Hahahahahahahaha

  • @SuperMatrixboy What are you talking about? "need to learn how to write their own music"? these guys are the beatles!!

  • @SuperMatrixboy IDIOT!! These guys ARE The Beatles!!

  • inspite of the danger was infact the first recording

  • @kieranlikesyou1 they recorded both that'll be the day and in spite of all the danger the same day. i think though that'll be the day was recorded first.

  • They all had matching outfits!

  • Who is it then, if not Buddy Holly? Wouldn't you want to sit in if the pre-Beatles were doing your song?

  • @zunk11 Buddy Holly died 1959, and it was long before The Beatles were famous, and besides, they were probably the ones who would've been proud to be with him, he's their favorite artist.

  • @TheDJGrandPa I'm sure they were very proud.

  • @zunk11 IF they had met him, yes, they probably would've been. Apparently, when going on the Ed Sullivan Show, the first thing they asked was if this was the same stage that Buddy Holly had once played.

  • These guys seem pretty cool. What ever happened to them?

  • @DizzyMissRomi they evolved into the beatles

  • Comment removed

  • @DizzyMissRomi I think they eventually became Tony Orlando & Dawn.

  • @1:55, that's Buddy Holly.

  • @zunk11 No it isnt

  • i say: god bless the beatles!

  • The Quarrymen, you say? Whatever happened to them?

  • @JeffersonDinedAlone ''they were cast out from the world of rhythm and blues and thrown into the amazing world of the beatles by hitler himself!''

Source: Living with Satan, magazine; pg. 4 line 23

  • 0:35/36 and 1:23 are so =)

  • Haha, young (as in little boy) Ringo kind of looks like my grandpa when he was younger. xD

  • A very intersesting early sound of the Boys . Thanks for that .

  • BUDDY HOLLY FOREVER. The King of Rock and Roll

  • @rustardj agreed ! but elvis & the beatles come right after :P

  • no se nota nada ke usaas movi maker

    penca

  • waw it maybe was happend the day that I was born

  • waw it maybe was happend the day I was born

  • Beatiful, great pictures and music!!!! Thank a lot. George is really a child, and that picture at 1:51 is wonderful. People say: "Roma was not made in one day" so, the same can be say about The Beatles.

  • I'am 16 and I love them... only thinking about their story, the way they all met. The fact that they were about my age when they started and by looking on this video, I just want to cry... I feel so thankful about everything they gave to us, their music, their friendship... you gotta love the beatles

  • As I am a huge Buddy Holly fan, it has always impressed me mightily that the pre fab Quarrymen chose to record this song. Buddy Holly was still alive at the time! Even though John is pretty loose with the lyrics, the historic importance of this is immeasurable. Great post, good pics and better than average audio. Cheers!

  • Looking at those fotos of the Quarrymen in '58, and thinking of me just a schoolboy then. Thanks all for posting them, love 'em !!

  • 0:32

How sweet has Paul looked!!! <3

  • They were freaking adorable when they were like 12-17! dont get me wrong, they still are.

  • Unfortunately - when they had made it big, they stopped being "just a band". They became four solo artist stuffed into the same group.

  • I thought the first recording was "In spite of all the danger".

  • @hkyplyr61 I believe it was the flip side of this song.

  • Im 22 and it amazes me how much better music was back in the day

  • @drazerama1 the reason why you like the sound of the older stuff is probably because it is more "real sounding". Ever since the computer age and music merged it started to sound "over processed" (too perfect)

  • Good Buddy Holly tune.

  • you werent born? neither one of my parents were born :D im just glad that though i missed all those awesome years, at least the songs have made it today.

  • these guys should just give up theyll never amount to shit. off tune caterwalling. be suprised if they ever make another recording.

  • @slickmon ha ha good one :)

  • @slickmon Hahahaha! :D

  • @slickmon ...you're kidding right?

  • @slickmon I hope you're kidding...

  • @slickmon well you better be surprised cause these guys are LEGENDS! THE BEATLES FOREVER!!

  • @slickmon Dumbass, These men became The Beatles, the biggest band of all time. What the fuck are YOU talking about?

  • @beatlefrantic44 Sarcasm is a bitch.

  • @beatlefrantic44 ...I think we found our village idiot.

  • @beatlefrantic44 You fucking idiot.

  • @slickmon -very well done,lmao

  • @slickmon yeah playing guitar is great for a hobby but you'll never make a living out of it

  • @slickmon What?

  • @slickmon your joking right

  • @lzam95 no man, he's dead serious

  • @maricc lolol

  • AT 1:05 THE GUY BEETWEEN JOHN AND PAUL LOOKS LIKE HES POLE DANCING LOL

  • @765483 That guy is playing the tea chest bass. It's really just a variation of the washtub bass. Every skiffle band had a tea chest. They said it didn't really matter if it was playing in key as long as the crowd could feel the thump-thump-thump it made.

  • like, wow, real music history preserved forever..

  • George is amazing

  • We were just a band that made it very big, that's all

  • Was Stuart Sutcliff ginger?

  • 2:05

  • @muffy1896

    haha

  • Young and skinny!

  • :)

  • jessiebeatles i have a question. on 0:25 is that john on left and george on right

  • @Bluey26255 no it's george and his older brother

  • FUERON LOS MAS GRANDES MUSICOS.

  • This song along with "In Spite of All the Danger" were the first 2 'Beatles' recordings were they not? Still waaay better then most of the music today

  • At 15, george is ALREADY a decent lead guitarist. Add another 5 years of playing together non-stop - and you get a TIGHT band (with emerging genius sprinkled in) that would take their place in history. They went from this Demo to "Strawberry Fields Forever" in 8 years - it's almost miraculous really. Besides Penicillin, the Beatles were the most positive thing to happen to Western Civilization in the 20th century. Forget the academics of it - they just make you feel happy.

  • @PicnicHikeMusic That's because huge and innovative changes were taking place in rock and roll and the Beatles were in the right place at the right time and got to contribute to it. It was a way better period than today where everything is formulaic crap and nobody cares about innovation anymore--they just want to buy more crap and so that is what they get.

  • @PicnicHikeMusic

they looked for a Drummer, they went through 3 people and then we got George, Then Ringo was on his way in, He heard Ringo play, He was better than "Pete".. And then Pete was kicked out, not by the Beatles.. But by their manager: Ryan, Pete never forgave them. And They were on their way out of Germany, But Stu The Bassist stayed at Germany for his love.

  • @PicnicHikeMusic

Actually right after their first hamburg trip, they started being regarded a top act back in liverpool, gerry marsden of gerry and the pacemakers was astounded by their diversity and how perfectly george defragmented every lead guitar sound he heard.

  • @PicnicHikeMusic george didn't start to be a really good guitarist till about 1967, Prior to that his playing was very "stiff" with no fluidity. Gee...what a coincinence....he did LSD in 1967

  • @PicnicHikeMusic I'm 15 and I wish I was as good as George was at 15 on guitar.

  • @PicnicHikeMusic yea, except for the part where paul mccartney died.

  • @PicnicHikeMusic Well said, I couldn't agree more.

  • 30 years Rest In Peace

  • @kaczuszka07 40 years

  • @pjrggrjp :)

  • There are still people out there that think that the Beatles formed a band and immediately became world famous. No, those guys worked their asses off when most bands would have thrown in the towel and given up. They scratched and clawed just to get crappy gigs at crappy clubs for crappy money. They were always trying to get better as a band. Gee, do you think they succeeded in this quest? The only thing that sounds like the Beatles on this recording is Lennon's familiar voice. History....

  • its crazy that they only had one try at this song because it went straight to vinyl

  • Private The Beatles tour in Liverpool was one of the best thing I've experienced in my life. I visited Penny Lane, Strawberry fields, the place where John and Paul met and all the important places. It's something that every true Beatles fan should experience. Truly magnificent.

  • haha "we were just a band.....who made it really really big ,that's all" ;D

  • wow their real good for just starting out

  • Gee...can you ever forgive me for getting 1 letter wrong?....I dont know what youtube would do without spellcheckers like yourself!

  • the quarrymen were johns little band before the beatles

  • great pics....not a terrific cover but good. love the original by buddy and the crickets. They're still a ways off from being the Beatles, the greatest band ever that changed the world forever.

  • You know the Beatles are old enough to be considered "Pioneers of Rock and Roll" like the 50's rockers...Dan O'Niallain, Grafton, Ma.

  • if you like the beatles and John lennon watch the british movie Nowhere boy. Im watching it now...It seems like a cute film so far! Im 16 in my opinion the beatles are the best music to grace our world.

  • @anime8snowman I wanna see it sooo bad! Are you in the US haha? I'm hoping it just comes out already! I need to see it!

  • same here. It's really is good. I'm not a fanatic about the beatles facts so I don't really know if all of Nowhere boy is true. I'm from the US, yes. funny question.

  • @anime8snowman I did see it actually, it came out when I'm at. I thought it was great.

  • @BeatlesForeverx3 i very much agree. When John Lennon is involved, you can't be disappointed.

  • @anime8snowman i saw it two days ago, it's a nice film... but the actors that represent George and Paul... suck a little... but all the other stuff are just ok... i learned a lot about lennon... and yeah i'm actually 17 just yesterday (it was my birthday) and i love all this stuff... also led zep... pink floyd, deep purple, the rollings, cream... etc etc.

  • @MetalMilpa nice, I'm young, but I think that's great taste in music. Classic rock is my thing. Cream, black sabbath, hedrix...they and so much more, make music that really really flows and is empowering and beautiful.

  • At 1:47 is the first girl there Cynthia?

  • There is something utterly refreshing about the simplicity of the Beatles (the Quarrymen) sound and lyrics. That's why they'll live in our hearts forever. [Even though I know this is Buddy Holly's and the Crickets song.]

  • hey! I'm 13 and I listen it!! I love!!!

  • these are staring at the clubmoor connie club were paul first ever played with john lennon in 1957 on 18th october 2010

  • I'm Still wondering why nobody talks about Rick Sutcliffe, he was a very important member of this band, unfortunately he died very young, before The Beatles appear.

I think you guys know the story very well....you guys should know how he died and the reasons why ..... He was (based on comments) the most good-looking guy of the band, that's a clue! =)

    GeNiuZ

  • @ThEGeNiuZ23 I thought it was Stu Sutcliffe?

  • @catoohey Dude!!!!!

Sorry, my mistake, YES, in fact, his name is Stuart Sutcliffe ....!!

  • History in the making, who knew what was to come.

  • there all so small and young

  • a bit different from 'Revolution 9' but still pretty good xD

  • Don't feel too badly for that jessiebeatles-I was only 2 years old then! I'm trying to teach 2 of my grandchildren all about music history, and the Beatles being part of it! I just love these films; I can't imagine where people get these films and pictures. I get a kick out of them!

  • In Spite of all the danger was the first song they recorded.

  • whos in tht quick picture at 2:05 with john?

  • @left4awsome2 I'm gonna guess Cynthia.

  • @left4awsome2 That is Cynthia. That was johns first wife.

  • 2:02 WERE IS THAT ???

  • @inspiredbyshikari its the casbah club, where the quarrymen did some of their first gigs.

  • @rock1020 dude. why?!

  • I seriously doubt that George is playing guitar here. He was not that good this early.

  • @bradentonguy50 dude, he was playing guitar from when he joined... that's how John let him in. he WAS that good that early.

  • love the Beatles! Great early, early stuff! Poor Pete Best!

  • @smichael333 yeah, but i read that pete still got a decent amount of money from the Beatles when they exploded.

  • Great vid! Where did u find those pictures, they're great! I too, wish that i could live bac then! IF ONLY I WAS BORN IN 1943 IN LIVERPOOL!

  • I met paul, and he said " you wanna join the band". Then George joined and Ringo joined. " we were just a band that made it very very big".

  • Wait they were able to make recording's in the late 50s before becoming famous? But, that, huh?

  • @DimensionsofChange yeah, they paid 17 and sixpence for it and recorded it at a guy's house who lived near them and had a recording studio.

  • wow the beatles had a wire recorder

you can tell becaus of the sound quality of the song

    wire recorders rule!

  • wau desde chiquitos era tan talentosos
