But honestly, what kind of a person would say something like, "Sorry man, but it really took away from the reality of the performance. All I could think about was when the fuck you'd be done saying your line. I mean really? What the hell are you doing in the theater anyway. It's the equivalent of a person with MS trying to swim. It's definitely incredible and inspiring, but what the fuck are they thinking?"
My frustration with stuttering isn't so much that they stutter but that when, as a deaf/hard of hearing person, when I'm learning how to lipread, they don't teach me how to lipread a stutterer. So anyway it's crazy for me because i don't even understand a lot of the dialogue in this video because there's no captioning. I forget difference between stutter and stammer, I think my son does one some times but the school SLPath doesn't see it as a "problem" but I'm the one who has to lipread it!!
Interesting how these people are so concerned and somewhat surprised when they learn that the actor stutters. In my condition, I just get weird stares or smirks when I try to talk. Either these people are truly caring or they're simply being kind for the camera.
Casa FuturaTech, I am very inspired by you. I think you have GREAT courage to step out there, be yourself, act, and, afterwards!!, ASK people about their reactions!!! I stutter also, and I LOVE seeing people like you (LIKE US) who have stutters get out there and reveal our "problem" (is it a problem or a solution to our problems, really? .. something to chew on) to the world. CONGRATS!!!! You're great!
