I was at the concert too - the Doors came on very, very late, Midnight or so. It was ahot, hot summer night. I remember Jim Morrison saying something about it being an honour to be on the same bill with so many of his heroes (Little Richard, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bo Diddley etc.) The Doors even took a brief turn at a Litte Richard number! He seemed to be on his best behaviour - just great, great singing and the band was so clear and clean sounding. Unforgettable.
I was front/center at The Toronto Rock & Roll Revival. I took photos of Jim early in the day. The Doors were the headline act, Lennon/Plastic Ono Band decided to fly in the night before. People jeered hard at Yoko for her screaming, edited out of footage. Jim wore a white T-shirt for the set, which started after midnight due to Lennon, some pics here are not Toronto. 2:07 is the back stairway to the stage. I took pics as the photographer shot this. Jim & Screaming Lord Sutch at 2:35
I was at the Toronto Rock and Roll revival, front & center. I took some pictures of Jim early in the day: The Doors were the headline act advertised months in advance. John Lennon and Plastic Ono Band were unscheduled, they decided to fly in the night before. People jeered at Yoko very hard during about ten minutes of her screaming, it's edited out of footage.
I was at that concert in TO and The Doors were the undercard to John Lennon and the Plastic Onno Band with Eric Clapton on guitar and let me tell you The Doors put Lennon to shame that night
could you upload "The End" from this particular concert please, i heard it was spectacular version ...although my favorite version is the one in 1967 at danbury highschool
Jack has never liked the Doors. He says Jim can't sing, he just screams a the crowd! When your'e wrong, say your'e wrong! Chicks loved Jim and the rest of the band. He was beautiful!!
Bo Diddley, Junior Walker and the All-Stars, Gene Vincent, Alice Cooper, Doug Kershaw , Whiskey Howl, Cat Mother & The Allnight Newsboys, Nucleus, Milkwood and Chuck Berry were also there. John and Yoko Ono showed up but didn't play.
@vtnamvet6768 Yeah they did. The Plastic Ono band. John,Yoko,Eric Clapton,Klaus Voorman and Alan White. They did a whole set. It was filmed. Its on Youtube.
I simply can't beleive the Doors wern't filmed.Ask Penniebaker I gues. What a shame. There is know way the film crew just packed it in.This must be about money.
@hendrixxx360 a lot of bands (I think all of them but The Doors) were filmed, but The Doors performed on midnight and the crew packed up before that time, but at the begining of the Sweet Toronto film you can see The Doors arriving to the venue, however a lot of people say that The Doors were filmed but who knows
that was a fucked up thing to say. I'm hating myself for that one.
