Yeah, but it put these kids in front of a microphone. It helped them gain expierence in performing in front of people and in the music business. And even Fergie herself said that's priceless.
If you were concerned about the song choice, then your comments are justified. After all, they were rather young at the time. Yet, if children have the gift for music, and the talent to perform, then why deny them?
this is a lot better than the 1988 version, namely cuz rahsaan is waaay more talented than whoever sang as richie (it wasn't richie)
