  • Wow my generation has no idea what music is. Thank you Candi

  • seem to remember from my dim and distant youth that there was a version of this with no clicking or bongos, just the voice, with 2 piano notes to signify a change of key, no other instruments at all...anybody know of it? think it might have been called the Fire Island Vocal Mix, anybody tell me where I could find it? mail me at jockanderson@myway.com if you can, thanks

  • @the67jock The story goes that the vocals are lifted from a "Diet video" VHS. According to Jon Truelove (The Source), only he has the clean acapella. Nobody so far has been able to track this video..AFAIK, the closest you get to the clean version is this house a pella. If anyone knows of a cleaner one, please drop a line!

  • The Sorce-you got the love (live from ibiza) stick that one in your pipes & smoke it, thats the most popular version getn banged out in the early 90's before all the attempted remixes like this one "WITH BELLS ON" :o

  • I remember when farley dropped that mix , I lost it also. Never knew the name of the cut until now. I caught a mix played on CHR a few yrs ago with farley jackin the hell out of this cut. Check it out if you can. Thanks for the Blessing!!!!

  • I always thought this was far & away the best version of this song - thanks so much for posting it here! From the original 12", as any classic head would know...

  • nice song. i love it so much.

  • such powerful words and voice!! Im grateful for this one!! Thank you and blessings 'statenhal'!!! MUAH!

  • some stupid idiots dont know that this is the original 1986 Acapella Version that all other later remixes used...learn your history before you leave stupid comments

  • @djfriction1

you think some of these evil geniuses on here wouldve figured that out by now. lol

    take care

  • fuckin crap, where's the base version! some dick is standing with chimes and adding that background crap thinking he/she is great, your murdering this tune like most of the other remixes, early 90's bass version was the best, remove this or i'll set up a facebook protest :O

  • @brooks4x

lol the base version is the 91 Eren's bootleg remix

  • @brooks4x

what ever. best version ive heard so far(and ive heard them all)

  • @brooks4x

when i first heard farley played this along with the original can you feel it by fingers. i lost it. i had to run to the store and find that song. plus running these two songs(can you feel it definitely wasnt synced) along each other let me know that farley is a better dj than i could even imagine.

  • where can I download this?

  • Perfect :) 5 stars :)

  • brilliant :) ty

  • really can't understand the bells. they're not even in tune with the vocal

  • @skabez

what are you talking about. the bells are along with the song.

  • why's it got the clicks thru it! grim!!!

  • prob taken straight from a 12" record

  • @DodgyVideoz

for tempo. thats why its going along with the snare drum. for dj'ing purposes. but i know you knew that.

    cheers

  • @discomadness any good dj could find the real dj with out the clicks. How can I get this accapella with out the clicks for Production work?

  • this version is horse shit tho

  • best song ever....this activated revolution with new house music

  • great song

  • i had this copy and gave it away pure class

the remix in the 90s not a patch on this...

  • Great post!

  • It's the original 1986 version I prefer to be honest. It's more soulful & musical than the 91 version sampling 'Your Love' & a million times better the remixes which came after. It had a real 80's boogie feel to it! I had it on one of those Streetsound albums too but it went missing:-(

  • the sad part about this is that the remix with your love background music is getting passed off as the original when this is not true. when this song came out in chicago it was mostly played for black(gay or straight) audiences because most whites/latino audiences were on the HI-NRG/uptempo songs as opposed to blacks who preferred their house songs down to step and dance to.

    the irony of all this is that this song was unexpectedly the forefront of what we now know as gospel house.;

  • I knew the origanl was 1986.. Some are claming it to be in the 90's

  • queen candi rules!
