Geralt is no thief but he is an assassin. He is killing for money. Right? But he is killing monsters (at least have to). Geralt is no thief! Never was and never will be.
Geralt as a witcher and thus he is a monster slayer. He is allowed to defend himself in case humans attack, but attacking humans without a good reason is not the witcher way.
Read some more lore before you say such ludicrous accusations.

Yes, The Last Wish has been out in England for some time and has just now been released in America. It is excellent, and whoever made this trailer did a good job, but didn't actually read the book. It says assasin on the back cover, but he's not really an assassin. And no where does it ever even imply he's a theif. He's Geralt. Just Geralt. From God, to Andrzej Sapkowski, to Geralt. Read Last Wish, it's the best short story collection since I Robot.
