I must disagree with posts labeling this as "pop." I find their claims of specialized genre knowledge to be somewhat pretentious.

This is not pop, though it attains the pacing and tempo at times. It also, by content is easily associated with hip hop.

Given these criteria, it is, in my humble opinion, most accurately placed in an emerging field: Modern Hip Hop.
