  • pretty scary

  • YO are you on the top of the rock? cuz if you are then those people saying these are small are fucking idiots. cuz the dude is standing on a 28 foot rock. so just stfu! sick clips btw!

  • ive seen bigger waves in the toilet

  • I reckon u can tell a big day when it takes a while for a pitching lip to hit the water. At 0:37, that wave took almost 2 seconds from lip to trough. That's a big fucker! I guess that means it's 20metres (u backward fukkn Yanks still using feet and inches pffft!) according to s=ut + 1/2at2. Or: distance = 1/2*9.8*(2squared)

Hey man! Who the fuck is Eddie EyeKai?? Get the pronunciation right doucher!

  • man, that'd be so good surf o.o

  • still no swell here at the wedge..

  • this isnt what a 40 foot wave looks like dork!!!lololo who is the commentator!!

  • Taken from a blog that was posted the same day: "A legendary big wave surfing contest, the Quicksilver in Memory of Eddie Aikau, may be held today for the first time since 2004 if waves reach a minimum of 40 feet (12 meters), organisers said. The event is only held in perfect conditions"

I'll post the awards ceremony as a Video response from the Eddie, that happened the next day in this bay ( Waimea ). Thanks for the opinion.

  • This is awesome! I live near Pearl Harbor and don't want to fight the North Shore traffic to see this, so your video makes it almost like being there. Thanks!

  • No problem! Too bad the iphone has such a small camera on it, the waves were 10 times larger in real life =)

  • damn over here in a so cal and they keep showing this on the news. They showed like a thousand people deep watching on the shore.
