  • feanor and fingolfin were far more powerful than gil-galad

  • just waiting for the hobbitt,

  • amazing

  • It's ANOIS not Aonis!...

  • I personally was not a fan of the books, but thats probably because I have an undying hatred of old english. I will forever despise those thee's and thou's. Loved the movies though.

  • @DarkStar53535 the mouth of sauron was pretty much the only character that actually speaks using thee and thou. :)

  • @DarkStar53535 By the way the English in your post leans towards the formal and old-fashioned....

  • I find you amazing...good work

  • The name is ANOIS not Aonis.... You can find them here it's a dutch band by the way making celtic music, so their website ends with .nl

  • I think it's stupid how ppl lean towards the movies, rather than the book when the subject of this is brought up. I don't think Tolkien would have loved that his life's work be remembered only as Orlando Bloom as Legolas or Gandalf and Sauron marching in the gay pride parade. Noone should watch these movies until they have read the book has so much more to offer..As much as I love this song I hate how it has clips of the film. I like the film n all but doesnt even scratch the surface of his work

  • @ToxicFloodBrew Why would you bring up the sexuality of Sir Ian McKellen? Do you honestly believe that when people will hear the title Lord of the Rings in the future, they'll remember Bloom as Legolas and the actor playing Gandalf would be gay? To make a goddamn movie you need some sort of visual aspect, you can't just photograph the pages of the book.

  • @FrostWinds Ok you're right I shouldn't have brought up his sexual preference. I just hate that most younger generation will never read his amazing works and Lord of the Rings will mostly be remembered by the masses as a Peter Jackson film. I mean there is so much more in the book and so much wrong with the films. Elves never fought at Helms Deep Glofindel bore Frodo to RIvendell not Arwen, I mean yes I enjoy the movies it's just I grew up with these books and then I saw the cartoons.

  • @FrostWinds I'd just hate to see one of the best pieces of Literature get overshadowed but its Hollywood counterpart..

  • @ToxicFloodBrew The books are fantastic, what's with the gay pride joke though? Feel free to explain if you're so much brighter than the fans of the films.

  • @AMpufnstuf

I agree the book are fantastic and I would also like to know what the "Gay Pride" quip was about, who cares if Ian M is Gay.

  • @MRDEREVKO He's a fantastic actor and I think it would take a delusion caused by hatred or fear to pretend that his "gayness" was apparent on the screen or got in the way of the portrayal.

  • @AMpufnstuf Like I said in a previous comment, sorry for the low jab.My whole point was I'm a HUGE fan of Tolkien and hate for his legacy to be lost ti Peter Jackson

  • @ToxicFloodBrew sooo... go and film your own movie then... I mean not like filming a movie is hard. I worked for the production of TROY as a traslator. You don't have a clue what it takes to film something of this proportion. LOTR is probably the best trilogy ever made and if you don't like it, go watch Harry Potter sir.

  • @ToxicFloodBrew And then you know there's people who grew up on the books but are no longer able to read because of vision issues and for them? The movies are a life saver because they can still enjoy the magic of Middle Earth.

  • @ToxicFloodBrew

What is it with people thinking directors can literally translate word for word a book to screenplay, long books, a lot of it not needed, Jackson chose the bits that he wanted to put into a film and what would be best.

  • i'm crying

  • I love it, I really love it.

  • Ya know it's funny, the dwarves are know as the great craftsmen, but I think the elves make much more detailed and beautiful things.

  • I love this. Your interpretation is incredible, and I wish I had the talent to do something similar.

  • @Benzeimin Thank you sir!

  • Such a mystical song

  • great song

  • Aonis? Fail

  • very very beautiful song and a nice video. even the millennia old gandalf can't hold his tears... :)

  • That is the song i want to be played at my funeral

  • There are a hundred complaints you can have about the Lord of the Rings movie trilogy.

But you have to understand that, as far as movies based on books go, it's fantastic. Sometimes you have to settle for less than perfect.

  • Very sad sound, does create a great sense of mourning

  • I am so sorry for the Witch-King....I wanna cry :( Dont give a fuck about elves and men

  • JUST BEAUTIFUL!!!

  • How beautiful!!

Don't elves resurrect in the land of Valinor?

But long ago he rode away

And where he dwelleth none can say

For in the darkness fell his star,

In Mordor where the shadows are.

...For in the darkness shone his star

    forever bright where shadows are.

    ...In Valimar shineth his star

    forever bright where Heroes are!

  • Beautiful.

Best version is the BBC one though.

  • One thing I like about this song is how it actually has something of a medieval sound to it, don't you agree?

  • ThankYou From Tucson,Az

  • I wonder why gilgalad, and tom bombadil were not in the movies, especially since peter jackson filmed scenes with them in them

  • @SatanicGaia Gil-galad was in the film. In the theatrical release he appears for about a half second, stabbing an orc at the battle of the last alliance. Dunno if he's got more of a part in the Extended version, or if Tom Bombadil has a part

  • @OogyTheMango I know I meant I wanted gilgalad to have an scene longer than three seconds, and no tom bombadil is not in the extended versions sadly, peter jackson didn't do lord of the rings justice, hopefully the hobbit will be better and more true to the books,

  • @SatanicGaia I totally agree, but honestly of all the changes they could have made, taking out Tom Bombadil was probably one of the most obvious. His only bearing on the plot later is that he gives them the Numenorean swords, which enable Merry to help defeat the witch-king--though since Numenor is never explicitly explained, it doesn't matter (unless, like me, you're a hardcore fan). 3 hours doesn't begin to cover LotR but Jackson did the best he could.

  • @OogyTheMango yes lotr needs to be done as a mini series a feature length movie is no where nere long enough to do it complete justice, also take out elijah wood as frodo he ruined that character

  • @SatanicGaia Ohman, LotR Miniseries would be awesome :) Mostly the writing, I think, that ruined Frodo--he's way weaker in the movies. Merry and Pippin also, especially Pippin, have become comic relief which was really disappointing

  • @OogyTheMango well frodo is a wimp sam is the hero not him so that part peter jackson did right it's only elijah wood has a wimpy style of acting and he always seems to be fumbling around or too weak for this task, it's almost to the point where you have to wonder why didn't elrond smack him in the face and say I'm taking this fucking ring because your a pussy, aragorn has daddy issues as well as boromir, gimli isn't near smart enough and legolas is a massive twat

  • @SatanicGaia I love Sam, as a character. He really is the true hero of the book. I wish they'd made Faramir have more of a role, and make him truer to the book. I agree that Aragorn was too conflicted abotu his king choice--in the book he basically knew it was his destiny

  • @OogyTheMango

This movie was meant for all types of viewers, thats why they made it like this.

Just like pirates of the carribean, id loved to see it more serious but its made in such a way a large group enjoyos it,

  • @OogyTheMango And Gimli was turned into comic relief as well. Instead of becoming a true friend to Legolas and a living symbol of the renewed bond between the Free Peoples who finally put their differences aside.

  • I believe it is Anois this band is called, not Aonis. Am I wrong? A beautiful song indeed, and Tolkien was a great writer

  • @SmirkAt

Quite much the best there ever was.

No one made a world such complicated and complex.

He also "created" the "elven" language,

Silmarillion, including legend stories, red story lines, forgotten tales etc etc everthing the history of a world would need

  • @Zeddicus111

    Silmarillion is my bible

  • @kamo124

You must be an Elf. ;p
