This song personifies why I love Smashing Pumpkins so much. Most bands go through their careers playing carbon copies of songs, note for note the same, but SP always experiment with their music live. Sometimes it doesn't work (BWBW Adore Era for example) but other times it produces superb versions of songs like this.

the great thing about smashing pumpkins is that all of their live versions are tottaly diffrent then the albums... it's like they cover their own songs. And they never to a bad cover!

I have read far too many YouTube comments complaining that they don't sound like the albums when they play live. If that's what you wanna hear, GO LISTEN TO THE ALBUMS. Meanwhile, this has made "Shame" almost sound like a new song compared to the Adore version.

i for myself love this version, it is much more dynamic especially guitar-wise. the new riff is perfect the louder singing and the solo also fit the pumpkins better then the original version. any real pumpkins fad would admit i guess.
