Out of all the Loonatics (maybe with an exception of Slam), Rev seemed to get the least spotlight through out the short-lived series, which really peeved me off. Easily my favorite character, and I don't think the writers or producers paid attention to the fanbase, because it seems a wide amount also favored Rev. Particularly on the internet.

The content of Loony Toons is in no way comparable or equivalent on any level to superheroes, Power Rangers, etc. In addition, Ben 10 was never revamped. Those shows depend upon the viewer's ability to decipher which should be funny and which should be intense. Again, Loony Toons is absolutely unqualified for a revamping into an action show.

Ace's "super cool moves" are more often used for evasion than direct offense, which suggests that he may not be strong enough to put much force behind unarmed strikes. And the heat beams seem to be a bit clumsy at close range, like he can't aim them properly unless he stands away from the intended target. So maybe the sword was given to him as a backup for melee combat, and then as he practiced with it, it slowly became a primary weapon for him.
