I hope they will bring Joe with his badass theme in a new Street Fighter game back.
By the way, there is a Kickboxing fighter named "The Ghost" in Final Fight: Streetwise who sports exactly the same red pants and hair style as Joe. I can tell Joe and The Ghost might be the same person, but I'm not sure of course. They look exactly the same.
Why do people always say that it's Joe and Mike fighting in the intro of Street Fighter II? It's more likely that it's just two random guys having a street fight. Blond shirtless guy and black shirtless guy doesn't automatically mean Joe and Mike.
@bagaaoglong I think when most people first saw the SFII intro in 1991, they dismissed it being just regular Street Fight while not having anything to do with the characters or plot, just a literal presentation of the game's title.
However when pair both the intros of SF1 & SF2, they both feature a blonde guy punching something or someone; and since the blonde guy Punching the brick wall in SF1's intro is most definitely Joe, there is a consistent parallel between both games.
@kortland12 i heard they having downloadable characters on SSF4. idk if its true. but they need to put him on there. but i dont really like SSF4. too much gay stuff in it. i loved when SF was normal back in the SF/FS and SF2 games.
@dman3431 Yea Im a big fan of the old classics. I know we'll be getting Oni Akuma and Evil Ryu....so idk who else hopefully another Final Fight and R Mika!
@kortland12 idk i think Final Fight doesnt belong in Street Fighter. and i hate how they changed Cody's personality from hero to prisoner. that made me really mad.
Joe is rumored to have suffered from amnesia much like Abel in Street Fighter IV speculation that Joe and Abel may be the same person. Joe's background setting is a trainyard in the US and in Street Fighter IV there is a train yard in Russia. There are no official character specific backgrounds in Street Fighter IV. A theory can be made that if Joe is Abel, he continues to use train yards as a means of transportation regardless of where he ends up in the world.
The SFII intro was going to be used for Street Fighter '89, now known as Final Fight. If Joe was in this intro, then why does he look like Cody? Their jump kicks also look similar. Perhaps they are both the same character.
This soounds like a a Sports Program theme

The controls sucked ass in fighting street, but at least the audio didn't rape your ears unlike the arcade version.

Joe = Cody
Mike = Balrog
Retsu = dan (fading fireball, same kicks etc)
kierg100 1 year ago
@kierg100
Retsu NEVER used fireballs.
He's got the same flying kick Makoto has, which is not really the same as Dan.
The other two are blatant clones, yes. Even if they were made before the more famous Cody and Balrog...

How come in the SF2 Intro, Joe wears a shirt while Mike is topless? Shouldn't it be the other way around?
CO9207 2 years ago
@CO9207 Maybe that's why they're fighting
Joe: "Nice shirt, now it's mine"
Mike: "Bitch give it back"

@chaosgreyblood That's not Joe in SF2, that's Cody. The intro to Street Fighter 2 is an unused one from Final Fight.
