@bwsw76 agree with you, i just think Pearl jam and mudhoney are the 2 last grunge bands. Nickelback, Staind, Creed and puddle of mudd are pop bands... i'm waiting for the new soundgarden L.P...
AH!!! This is how he started when I saw him almost exactly 1 month later in charlotte, At first I thought they were going into Hands all over and I was like sick, but then they went kind of into the rest of the opening and I was like what song is this, and then I was like, oh... misleading opening. I was also in line to get a candy bar, so I was like, no!!! I'm going to miss my favorite song, but then they went into Let me drown, which I hadn't heard before then.

That was always my fav song from Superunknown but god that performance sucked ass! Chris may as well have been sitting on a couch while he sang it...he seemed so bored and like he didn't want to be there. That song is filled with so much energy and he didn't even try to put the slightest bit of energy into it. Glad I stopped following his work after the crappy Down On the Upside record
2007 eh..im impressed considering his upcoming new timbaland release is sucking hard so far.....he actually still plays shit from the best soundgarden days...fuck it soundgarden should just re unite...who the fuck are these goons lol
haha no doubt man,, they have to be if cornells gunna try and be super mainstream the way hes goin with this new timbaland bullshit hes doing..... i just wish the original soundgarden lineup was back minus matt cameron cuz i also want pearl jam to keep givin er lol
the thing is he only sounds so much better cuz they had a really rough tour schedule with audioslave, and it had it's impact on his voice. he plans his solo tour so that his voice doesn't get worn out. but I agree that he sounds alot better since he left audioslave, although the first audioslave record was a killer, great vocals!
Wait a minute! he didnt always play the guitar in SG! plus now that his voice has taken a hell of a beatin due to abuse and constant touring he has to giv it his full attention!
ja! that's rigth men, i think the issue with cornell is that he were so undiscimplined singer with soundgarden cause they were his friends and he got such a gigant ego to practice his sing, here he got with profesionals, tough he correct his mistakes
There are alot of retarded people on the internet who don't understand the course of life.
People age and change you morons, Chris Cornell is in his 40's so naturally he doesn't have the amount of energy on stage or power in his voice as he used to. Get over it
Some of his changes over the years were ok but most of em were bad. So don't bitch, moan and try and make excuses for him about how he's aged and that changed his performance.
He's not as good as he once was. That's apparent to SG fans.
I don't see how being in your 40's stops you from playing guitar. The "course of life" doesn't explain that.
I AM a fan of Cornell. I'm just trying to make a point out to all the peeps who like to bring up the "course of life" excuse.
You really have no clue. Aging does have a major effect on your voice (puberty being a very good example) and it keeps changing after that. Smoking and other habits can also alter your voice. So don't give me that crap. I'm not making excuses, I'm stating the FACTS you uneducated retard. You obviously have no clue about life... Game, set match
Did I once mention the aging on his voice? No. I was careful to avoid that. But aging wasn't the only factor that caused that to happen to his voice you uneducated retard. Remember the endless touring after the releases of Badmotorfinger and Superunknown? That was a huge contributor to the deterioration of his voice. Remember how much his weaker his voice was on Down On The Upside?
Aging was definitely not the "major effect" you claim it was on his voice. It was the strain and it occurred in 94.
I sort of agree. I mean, he's still a great singer but his change of music is killing me. Timberland?!?!
On the other hand, it would be such a terrible mistake if he went back with SG and started doing pop shit. We all change and he should'nt let any other than himself decide what to do.
@Amplhlett Actually ur grunge is gone, cause Chris grunge has never gone. I've been to this concert and it kicked ass!

I agree. I and would challenge all the naysayers to show me a singer whose voice doesnt change after 20 + years of hard singing / screaming.
Its a fact of life. Even Bruce Dickenson is not the same as he once was.

its not that he poses bad live...his voice is just so unique and powerful that it is hard to move around and sing that fucking awesome..
phiaman 4 years ago
that's not true. lmao
Go watch any Soundgarden performance from 1988 to 1992. He headbangs, runs up and down the stage, and jumps around.
And right now it is not powerful.
In 1992 it was powerful.

He still is a good singer though.
He can still hit those high notes at the end of "Say Hello 2 Heaven".

actually he may have an awkward pose nowadays.
but back w/ Soundgarden he had a shitload of energy. He'd headbang and prance all around he stage and he used to play rhythm guitar.
