Hey, nice run on Splatterhouse! I was kinda messing with speedrunning this game several months back, but lost interest since no one was playing it for speed when I was trying stuff out. I don't have the old TG-16 handy though, but I play it on the VC.

I know you're kinda secretive with strategies and whatnot, but I'm still happy to see others playing this game competitively since I've always liked this game ever since I was a kid.

@zallard1 Thanks with some luck in the game fast runs can be possible 16 mins was hard to get what I have coming is even harder but to get even better will require more LUCK then skill, thanks for the comments

@trtomkitinholloywood I know what you mean. Lots of luck is needed for certain parts, like stage 4's boss can take forever if heads keep intercepting you when you try to approach the middle one. Stage 6 can be run killer too, since the entire thing could turn the tables against you and make you take out tons of bubbles instead of spending the time hammering away at the boss.

Are you trying your speedrun in hard mode? I was able to get about a 15:10 in normal on VC with a death.

@trtomkitinholloywood 15:10 is a GREAT time not bad at all, Level six can make or break and yes so can level 4, most of all level 5 in my eyes

@trtomkitinholloywood Oops, I guess I must've mistimed the run I did a while back. I just did it now out of curiosity's sake and measured these times.

From the instant the run button is pressed to the final blow on the boss is 14:49.00 flat (TG timing)

From the instant Rick moves to the final blow is 14:46.80 (SDA timing)

@trtomkitinholloywood I'm fairly certain sub 14 is possible, but sub 13 might not be. Despite my run being sloppy, I doubt more than 2 minutes could be chopped off of it unless some glitches are involved for skipping cutscenes. Not sure if any exist for this game or not since I don't think a TAS exists yet. Who knows though.
