Seger said he wrote this song after watching the movie The Sting....This scene in particular, when Redford is out walking in the middle of the night, and shows up at the door of the woman who was the cashier at the diner he ate at. Redford's character says to her..(from what I remember) "It's 3 in the morning, and I got no where to go". Cool. Great song.
