I know ppl selling their patches to Opiate addicts and some of them scrape the jelly off the pach mix itwitha little water and shoot it up I used to do it a 100 micro gramm patch u get like 5-6 fixes.I blacked out few times lucky still alive
My son's father died of fentanyl toxicity in May 2011. His doctor also prescribed morphine with it. He was alone when he passed. He was a recovering addict with a medical disability living in a travel trailer trying to do the best he could. I believe his doctor and and drug industry failed him.
My vet said the patch is really designed for human skin & they aren't even sure how much of it actually gets absorbed into an animal's skin. He also said a lot of vets use the patch on animals that have just had surgery, etc. So, then if they don't even know if its effective & it's really designed for humans, then why in the hell are so many vets using it on animals? Are the vets all getting some kind of kickback from the drug company who makes it or what???
Fentanyl is being overused in PETS also. My stupid vet recommended a Fentanyl patch for my cat who had cancer, about a day later, he died. After I removed the patch I found the stupid vet tech had poked a hole in the top corner of the sac with a staple! For all I know it leaked & my cat got an overdose. Also my cat had lung cancer, and the insert says not to use Fentanyl on anybody with lung disease. I wish it was possible to sue vets for malpractice!
@tampabayismyhome No he did not get any chemo, but the vet claimed if he got some pain relief then he might get his appetite back. After the cat died he tried to claim "Well we could tell he probably didn't have that much longer to live anyway." And I was like really? Why didn't you just say so in the first place & I wouldn't have bothered with the stupid patch! They did shave a spot on his shoulder for the patch, which they also stapled to his skin! The whole thing just made me mad.
@mdsmemories With fentanyl you have to be on opiates before you can take the patch otherwise you will overdose and die. One of my friends thought it would be a good idea to chew on one of the patches and ended up dying a few hours later that was 4 months ago. And his family sued the doctor and were awarded something like $750.000 maybe you have a lawsuit to.
@tampabayismyhome That's terrible, I'm sorry. The doctor actually rx'd fent for the first time to a non-opiate tolerate patient? I'm not usually for suing doctors for this type of thing.. but..
A friend of mine who was in a wheelchair took the patches..they were 50 milagrams a patch...he use to cut the patch in half with a pair of sissors..then take one half and just chew on it like it was gum..after a while the patch taste like some scotch tape in your mouth..But my god this was the best high i ever had..sadly my friend died in hospital durring surgery..when he passed..i had no choice but go through withdraws..man that part was scarey..but other then that i loved it
I've rotated back to the Subutex (Buprenorphine W/O Naloxone), and I'm tapering slowly (liquid dose taper method). I'm not using the Fentanyl anymore. =) I was taking them from my mother. She knows, and she's pissed, but happy I'm trying to figure something out here. Pain, Panic Disorder, and PTSD isn't fun. I wasn't using it in any harmful way. I've been getting constant INTENSE pain in my upper back, which is rare, and I'm growing concerned it could be fibromyalgia. It won't go away... =/
Hey everyone, I'm prescribed 240 80mg Oxycontin's and 180 2mg Xanax bars a month for my cystic fibrosis and am willing to help anybody out who is in pain and needs some meds for cheap but can't afford a doctor/medicine for whatever reason. I get them covered by my insurance but in the past have had to pay for it myself and know how expensive they can be! I have a lot leftover which I'm not using and would love to help a fellow pain patient out so send me a message if interested, TTYL.
I have serious spinal tumors, an auto-immune disorder called Ankylosing Spondylitis (which causes serious bone spurs and evenually converts muscle to bone), and chronic fatigue syndrome, all of which cause INCREDIBLE pain; as such, I fit the definition of "opiode-tolerent". I first took the patch after a car accident aggravated existing back pain, and it worked amazingly well. I now take the 75 mcg/3-day patch, with Percoset 7.5mg as a "breakthrough" med just in case. Fantastic relief.
@RegistrationCop Yeah, coming off Fentanyl is the only downside of being on it--you WILL go through withdrawal, and that's no fun. But as far as getting "high" off it, the only way to get high is to have taken it not for pain, but as a way of getting high. If you take it for legit pain, you can't get high. Period.
Fentanyl is a Great Medication! I don't feel "high" on them either! In fact, I feel more alive, and I'm able to get stuff done! I used to take Buprenorphine, but it failed not long ago. I get the 100mcg patches. I also was prescribed Actiq 1600mcg (Fentanyl Transmucousal Citrate "Lollipops"). I don't like taking medicine, but I have too... Fentanyl is safe, if you use it correctly, and are opioid-tolerant. They work wonders for me! Also, I'm allergic to weed, and alcohol never worked! Seriously!
@KarbineKyle Haha you're in the dark. You have NO IDEA what you're getting yourself into. You honestly have nooooo freakin clue buddy. I honestly wish you the best. The second you stop taking it, you're going to get "that" feeling. You will remember this message when you feel "that" feeling, and once you do... you'll eat those words you just typed.
This medication needs to be taken off the market. My husband 40 years old was being given 50 mcg every 48 hrs and he died on march 9th 2010, because of this medication.
@bassoundlikethunda ok yah cuz you know my tollerance to it.. trust me man the first time i EVER used this shit i put a blob in my mouth and i felt fuzzy in like a couple of minutes.. u probobly have a higher tollerane and it just taked longer.. idk but for real it hit me quick but not anymore, it takes longer now that i use it a lil more
I was prescribed Fentanyl duragesic a year and a half ago and have found it to work very well on the daily pain I have. They started me on 25 mcg/hr once every 72 hrs. Later it changed to 50 mcg/hr every 72 and then every 48. Also taking one Oxy 10/325 every 8 hours (average) for break-thru. This seems to be my best dose and it's worked very well for me.
When I first started taking Fentanyl I got a nasty headache and got sick as a dog but got used to it pretty quick. This has worked for me.
I cut a patch in half once then rubbed the liquid from the patch all over my chest while i put a new one on my arm and in 10 minutes i was flying all around the damn house..Then i finally grew up and quit using them lmao!!
some people are a lot more tolerant than you'd ever be able to imagine. don't talk about shit you know nothing about. I have a very high tolerance, and barely feel my prescribed 125mcg/hr patches. some people are even more tolerant than that.
you can smoke it, but its really dangerous. You got to have a real strong opiate tolerance. I was crazy for smoking 3 hits back to back the last time i did it, i crashed the whole next day then woke up a day after that feeling like a train literally ran over me.
cronic pain is a hard thing to control. I've used several different narcotics at different strengths at different times for various related conditions over the last 15 years, There is no one solution for any individual. I just use the minimum dose for mantaining a 4 to 5 on the o-10 pain scale. That's the best I hope for until technology give me a permenant answer.
If you take to much fentanyl too quickly you will die. The only reason I can take such a high dose is that I went up very slowly in very small increments until I had gradually reached the dosage I am on now. I have been taking fentanyl for a few years now and I am definitely scared of unknown longterm effects. I hate being on pain killers and it blows my mind that people take it recreationally when it can kill you. If you feel a need to be on drugs you need to improve your personal life instead.
I've had chronic back pain for 10 years and have finally controlled my pain with three 100mg fentanyl patches. Now I don't put them on all at once. A patch lasts three days and I change the oldest one every day. It took months to get up to this strength and it works for me, but my doctor says he doesn't know of any other patient who takes this much, but my pain was so bad that life was unbearable. I wouldn't recommend this dosage to anyone, but the other drugs available made me too sick.
Oops! Thank you for catching my mistake, I don't know why I put mg instead of mcg...I didn't even realize. Very big difference! Yes definitely mcg no mg...sorry folks!

the FDA should NOT be telling everyone to flush used doses down the toilet! The sewage systems are NOT designed to handle that! Plus, that can clog up your own house's sewages system, costing you loads of cash. LOL. stupid-ass FDA
I do not think enough people are on the patches to worry about a worldwide pollution, bio chemical, Haz-Mat incident! I am a plumber on my days off and those patches
A.) Can be crumbled up or folded
B.)The patch is not big enough to clog up a pipe, unless there is hair and other crap down there that you flushed prior. FDA is not wrong.
i got a big healthy box today, oxy just aint kicking in no more. doctor started out on 75 mcg, is that a good dose to keep from detoxing off of oxy?? i just hurt like a mother fucker and my dick just gave up and said fuck it, about five years ago, so i have to you tube now. i wonder what the food and drug people would say about how many patches do you have to use to keep from detoxing from 4 ,, 60 mgms of oxy a day? how long till they kick in by wearing one???
My wife uses the same dosage as you do ( 75 mcg / Hour) and takes 3 5/325 percocet for break through pain when the fentanyl is not activating. It is a very serious medication. DO NOT put two patches of the 75 mcg on your body bro, please! It takes onetime to OD. It might not cause a OD the 1st time but will eventually if you abuse it. Talk to your Doctor about break through medication. If you are trying to get off Oxycotin, then you should taper down, not use a stronger narcotic!
It took my wife 3 hours for the maximum effects to kick in with the euphoria effects, and lasted 8 hours or so. She was pain reduced for 24 hours after that and had to only take her break through medication twice in 3 days. The medication wears off in 48 hours, not 72 hrs. They say 72 hours to be safe and allow your body to reduce the amount of medication before putting a new patch on. it last 2 days but play the game and switch it in 3, to be safe. NO JOKE!
shit is so strong, you can iv it, if you mix it with vinegar and shake it up, you can inject it, it gives you the most intense rush in thee entire world

And pioneer96," wow! uh no you did not!" you are a liar and a dumb shit! You never put any Fentanyl patch on and never have tried it! You are a idiot that lies to make internet homo friends! No one believes you! Stop lying and try telling the truth!

I just found out I was prescribed a patch really similar to this one (according to some patient complaint forums I've been on) and have been using it for the past 2 months, the doctor at the free clinic prescribed them to me. I've been having some fainting spells for a few weeks and my stomach has been hurting but I don't have ALL these symptoms & don't want to go back to the same doctor, so if there's a phone number to call about more info that would be nice of you to post.

omg, sounds like the yanks are giving them out like nicotine patches...crazy.
Fentanyl is 80 time more potent than morphine, so be careful folks, if your doctor prescribes you those patches, question them as to why.
