I went to a training session while still training karate and never went back to karate. MMA is true life combat where karate is for flash and sparring is a joke points with barely any contact?? How can you have confidence in defending yourself if youve never been hit/tested. Karate gives many people false confidence that could have serious consequences thats the reality of it

i have no complaints about danas changes for the most part. Stomping is lame, its not even technique at ALL and ruins the fun of mma... its just a reaction of hey my heel is harder than your face... lets stomp it!

wrong. stomping and soccer kicks and knees are very technical.

Have you seen how shogun uses it to pass guard into hammer fists.

It makes the fighter move. It makes the fighter more alert and when you know its coming you will be scrambling to get your ass up and cover up.

With these rules the fighters fight with more heart instead of lay and cover since you know you are not in danger

Its not technical... you can do many things... axe kicks, leg kicks,punches, guard striking, submission attempts all to pass guard... its just another one of those tools... one that just isnt pretty for me. If i wanna see a fight where people stomp on eachother and shit like that ill watch a street fight. Watching UFC/Pride i wanna see skill, and planning, not panicking or RELYING on stomps. as somone whose fought with both rules, i like non-stomp better.

well i gues at the end of the day its a matter of fighting style. in pride it was evident how these attacks could b eused effectively. as i said it made fighters work and not be lazy. Also we could see even with stomps and all, mma can still be very much accepted.
